May 14, 20224 yr Hi guys. I helped a friend with a UPS solution for his property in Pretoria. He runs a 3phase electrical supply from Utility. He has 3phase equipment like aircons running on site. We installed 3x 8.8kw SunSynk inverters in 3phase configuration. All 3 masters for Phase A,B and C. Master Phase A ModBusSN01 as the true master. 8x FreedomWon ETower Batteries connected to a Central BusBar and then the 3 inverters wired to the bus. Master inverter has CanBus towards the battery bank and the LiBMS page sees the info from the BMS. There is no PV wired into the system. This is purely a UPS. Grid comes into changeover, then to inverters, from inverter UPS to Changeover then to house. So he can go over to Eskom should maintenance be performed on the inverters. During Loadshedding, Batteries performs well and powers all 3 inverters and the loads. When Eskom returns, thr load goes over to eskom and the batteries powers the inverters. But the Grid does not charge the batteries. Even though the Battery settings screen grid charge is enabled, it does not charge the batteries. Ive tried playing with Time Of Use by enabling it and set the SOC to 100 and enabling the grid charge there, but still, no charge to the batteries from Eskom. Am I missing something? Or is there a specific way of Config that I did not follow? Any help would be appreciated. Ps. There is no generator on site. Estate rules doesn’t allow for one
May 15, 20224 yr Author EDIT- issue resolved. The one inverter didn’t save the Modbus SN number. Changed the Modbus SN number and enabled the parallel and saved, inverters immediately did a reboot and once they came online immediately started charging the batteries
May 15, 20224 yr Great job!!! Looks good too. The Lynxx Busbars must have been pricey? Buying bare copper busses might have been a cheaper way to go. However, having never used the Victron Lynx before, is there something additional that it offers in terms of functionality that a normal bus bar does not? But it offers easy expansion, the newer one just bolts onto the existing 2 there. It has Positive and Negative inside the unit. And it offers the use for Mega Fuses inside. It’s rated for up to 1000Amps The Lynx Power in offers no smart functionality The Lynx Distrebutor offers smart functionality if you use a Shunt. Like LED indicator for blown fuses.

But I just love the Mega Fuses on the Lynx and the ease of expansion. this is a system we did on a Victron system. Running 4x MPPT controllers and 14x Pylontech 3.4kw batteries

And they work absolutely wonderful with the E-Tower Batteties. This is another one we did a while back.
