My take on it. According to the Sunsynk spec sheet: (quote)
    Operating Temperature Range (℃) -25~60°C, >45°C Derating
So if fitted into a weatherproof enclosure, and operating within the design specification, I can see no reason why the warrantee should not be honored.
Also, the Sunsynk is IP65 rated (if all the glands seal properly) so dust and moisture intrusion is not an issue.

And the support is actually great on the units. My personal 5.5 impressed me day by day!  And I’m pushing the limits on it

Thanx man.  Ive used the copper bus bars before. But I just love the Mega Fuses on the Lynx and the ease of expansion.

EDIT-  issue resolved. The one inverter didn’t save the Modbus SN number.  Changed the Modbus SN number and enabled the parallel and saved, inverters immediately did a reboot and once they came online immediately started charging the batteries

Sorry I missed some of the posts.
Based on the 400W lights and router this new inverter with charger although only 1000W should work well but as with a lot of inverters/solar panels etc getting stock is a major problem.
Adjustable charger and with adjustable voltage settings. No direct solar input. This link is for the 12V version but thewy also have a 1600W - 24V model.

Another excellent looking install. It’s really nice to see great work like this. I must perhaps give them a try

Which is quite a nice way of doing it really.
Better if the gen set auto starts based on a set of conditions but if it doesn't and one has to start it manually how nice is it for the inverter to disconnect the genset and restore supply via grid without any intervention from the owner/operator. This further infers that you dont have to turn everything off, stop the generator, use a change over switch to pick which incoming supply to use (grid in this case once it has has returned and is able to supply power to the inverter) and then turn everything back on. Been there, done that. So last century !
These Sunsynk inverters keep getting nicer and nicer the more I read about them. I am very happy with my Victron system but these newer Hybrids have functionality that a quattro just does not have - without adding lots of bells and whistles at significant cost.

JpPaulKruger reacted to Leshen in 5.5 SunSynk and Generator
    Yes correct.
If the grid comes back online while the generator is supplying the load, the generator will be disconnected from the inverter and the grid will take over. The generator will merely run without any load until you switch it off manually.

The Generator port is made for this function, and will not interfere or clash with the Eskom main feed. It is an input or output port, and is isolated from the incoming Eskom main feed. I don't have the internal circuit diagram, but suspect it connects to the DC bus, UPS, and main AC feed through appropriate  electronics and relays.
So no problem running the generator at the same time as AC main feed is connected. In fact the same port can accept input from a micro inverter with it's own string of panels.

Both the grid and the generator cannot work at the same time. The generator relay on the inverter can only close when the grid is offline. As soon as the grid is restored, the inverter will isolate the generator.

since the generator would not be able to sync with the grid, you are looking at causing smoke to come out somewhere, I'd imagine, so, don't do that unless you have lots of spare dosh, burning a hole in your pocket... if you do, still don't do that, rather pass the spare dosh my way 🙂

    Hi Gerrie,
I have the 12kw 3 Phase Sunsynk installed.  It can do 6 kw on a phase but is limited to 12 Kw in total.
Before I re-balanced the phases, I happily did 6 kw on a single phase and 3-4 kw on the second phase and a bit on the third phase.  I have since rebalanced the load and each phase rarely will go past 5 kW.
Happy to answer any questions you may have.

I gave up looking for those years ago, maybe some one know where to find it.
If i dont have space in the DB i use one of the following ways to install a changeover.

If there is space I use a Samite to Din Adapter and then fit a normal Din rail Changover into the Samite board.

Most electrical wholesalers do sell the Samite to din adapters.
    Fits like this:

    Hi JP
I think anyone with a Sunsynk experiences this. However, you could try increase the minimum usage from the grid to say 50 watts - not sure of your current value?
Unfortunately, if a big load is switched off and the battery is already full, it cannot react fast enough. But as you say the export should be very little.
I don't believe the firmware will do anything in this regard.
    Thanks

I had the exact inverter. It was a nightmare to use.  And I hated the fact that I had to buy separate pieces and equipment to get more out of the unit.

I had a small PC on mine. Connected via a USB cable to the inverter. Inhad a solar monitoring software on the PC, and set schedules on the software as to when the inverter needs to do what.

From 09:00 I had setting 1 on SBU. Up untill 16:00. Then there after I had it on UTI only. It worked for me for the 5 months I used it.  I then got myself a new lithium battery and SunSynk inverter.  Never been happier
