Bowsie
Hi. Anyone had any experience with the growatt. I got a unit in to see what it is all about.
Sidewinder
@Bowsie Try and take a picture of the bottom (where the wires and fan's are) of the inverter. The pictures are a little dark to clearly see what's going on. Also try get a pic of the label i.e. specs of the unit. Would be interesting to see what kW rating and can you stack (parallel) them? Also what SW versions are one is, if it behaves like a Axpert? I had a look at www.growatt.com, but cannot find this particular model in their product list, so perhaps an older/new model. Same with ginverter.com. So, at this early stage, I don't think it is a copy of Axpert etc, maybe just another nice inverter from China! Riaanh
What I could find, but again this is general on the 4/5kw units, no mention of parralelling Edited April 6, 2017 by Riaanh image
Bowsie
Apparently the original 5kva unit was a copy of the Axpert. They say that this is now their new unit launched this year. Parallel up to 6. Will take some better pic laterSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What are the costs?

Riaanh
I see WiFi is optional on all models. That could be a nifty feature if affordableSent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Chris Hobson
The TL Series @Riaanh quotes are not Axpert clones. The SPF series you are quoting looks very familiar.
Riaanh
Agreed with @Chris Hobson the SPF specs seem close, It would be interesting though to see the price comparison, Maybe @Bowsie can shed some light?
Bowsie
Pricing is similar with voltronic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bowsie
Can I ask another question. What would the pros and cons of the 2 MPPT's vs the one MPPT be?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Chris Hobson
I cannot think of any cons. Pros you will be able to have a second PV array (which could have a different orientation) or perhaps a wind turbine. Mark and Riaanh

I can think of only one, slightly higher quiescent current draw at night (for the second unused MPPT). Since this is usually in the order of tens of milliampere... probably not a problem. Bowsie
And if it's an issue, some extra cable for the second stringSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
