Wires wrong is the same as arrow direction wrong.

It could be 2 settings on the Sunsynk as well.

1. Do you restrict the current that the CT Coil has to draw from the grid, I.e. "grid trickle feed"?

2. Do you restrict usage to "limit to load only"?

These settings makes a difference on the displays. With "limit to load only" active, it will not show what non-essentials are drawing from grid.

I attach pics from the settings page and the displays on my 8kw Sunsynk. 

Also, I have read that the CT Coil connection to the inverter is equally important. If you are on single phase, I think one then connects to slot 3 and 5? Perhaps a member ccan just confirm that. Its been a long time since I had issues with the CT Coil but in my case the twisted pair cabling mention above solved my issue.

 

Any chance you've got the live and neutral wires both tucked into the CT coil? Not sure if it's physically possible, but it might explain a zero reading.

Hi, it is easy to make twisted pair. Buy 5 m of 0.5mm two or three core and strip it. Use a speed control dril to wind up two individual wires. The trick is to keep the two wires not attached to the drill free to allow the two wires to unwind as the drill turns slowly under tension. Make sure that you keep the direction of the twist on the original wires. The CT is showing 19W probably because you are not exporting and the minimum is set to allow for 20W to prevent export.

It appears that the inverter needs an update because the other readings just don't add up. Contact Sunsynk and ask them to do an update for you.

An important diagnostic is always to take a screen shot of the information screen at the time of the problem, which provides all the details and assists in fault diagnostics. Simply click on the AC load meter to access this screen.

Most definitely pointing towards either CT coil issue and/or Firmware problem, as these numbers do not add up, with the primary values missing around the Grid feed.

Could be a faulty CT coil, dropped during install/transit process, or as in most cases faulty cabling when the cables have been extended.
Use twisted pair as stated by @YellowTapemeasure or I have also used 2.5mm silicon based cabling to extend over 20m (Silcone wire strnd 2.5). Similar to what comes with CT coil.

Once you have replaced the cabling and no improvement, the firmware is the next easiest option, followed by having to replace or test the actual CT coil.

Question - Does the Grid reading ever go above the 20W?
I.E. Do you see any fluctuation in this reading?

I had the same issue and the problem was that the inverters grid connection was connected after the breakers of the non-essential loads. Because of that the inverter did not know how many watts they used. By connecting the grid connection directly after the main breaker, I now get accurate numbers for grid usage
