Who manufactures the Hubble AM-5 battery cells?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I tried to email and call Hubble, but nobody I spoke to knows who manufactures the cells in the AM-5 battery. The only confirmation I got was that they are made in China. Have anybody here by chance opened a AM-5 and seen a "by made"| or knows for sure which cells they use? I'm planning on buying the AM-5 either way, this is more to settle my own curiosity.

Can anyone give feedback on the Hubble X101 Lithium Phosphate battery as I am told it is a really good battery that will be installed with a Deye 5kw system without solar panels for now?

I personally think that the Hubble AM5 wall mount battery seems a better option than the Hubble X101 due to the cycle rate differences

Is the Hubble battery X101 and AM5 battery as good as Sunsynk 5.12kwh wall mount battery or a freedom won 5kwh e-tower battey?

I am in desperate need of a 5kw Hybrid Inverter  and a 5kwh Lithium Phosphate battery(preferably sunsynk) load shedding system excluding panels for now until such time that my budget allows for a full system including panels.

What can I expect to pay for a Sunsynk 5kw Hybrid Inverter and Sunsynk 5.12kwh Lithium Phosphate battery installed professionally by a trusted and competent accredited installer with a COC certificate included?

I am confused now as I noticed that the spec sheet for the x101 said nothing about LiFeP04.😕

I spoke to an installer telephonically about the X101 not being Lithium Phosphate and he guaranteed me it was indeed the same as the AM5.

I explicitly said that I did not want any other type of battery other than LiFep04

I assume you've seen all the threads here about problems with their batteries, right?

I've seen the issues, and I personally know 2 people that had issues with the older AM-2, but Hubble did fix the batteries and all is well now. I was hoping that somebody could say if the newer AM-5 is a better battery that can compare to the Pylontech or Dyness batteries.

I own the AM-5 battery, bought is two months ago, it also has the issue where the SOC just drops from 41% to 0%. The way to fix it is to simply not connect the comms cable and let the inverter manage the battery, then the battery works perfectly.

Batteries are an ongoing chemical reaction, this is not like buying a tool and you get a good one or bad one and then you are set.  Batteries fail on a curve and the curve is strongly dictated by the chemistry and cycles.  So essentially you are betting that those batteries will last their 10 year stated life or be replaced during that time.  Downtime is also a factor in that 10 years.

I use 10 years because with LiFePO₄, 10 years is actually a pretty good life expectancy.  If you lower your expectations and factor in that they probably won't honor the warranty later in the life of the battery then that is fine (or not be around anymore), but I'd be careful naïvely assuming it is a just all well now.

Car companies like Tesla have also started opting for LiFePO₄ because of the longer life.

This is much more akin to buying a new VW and it uses a lot of oil, you take it to VW, they say, no this is acceptable and once the warranty expires the engine is completely buggered. (this actually happened with some of their TSI engines)

Don't get me started on VW, their diesel engines, especially the 1.6 TDI is so nasty.
