Solis bad support

Featured Replies

It seems that once equipment is sold the user is stuck.

Following the update if the Solis Cloud APP it seems that Solis does not even care if the APP lost some functions. I wonder if there are any tests after an update as even the landing page being an overview one can see the PV installed is shown as zero. All places in the APP the correct data is displayed for 1 inverter. The 2nd inverter on the profile they changed the size. Further if they add up 1.5+1.5 their results is 2.5 🤔

Now if they don't even act on the bad reviews it shows they don't really care.

1st picture shows the zero value of the new version.

Just an update on the problem I encountered with the new cloud APP.

In order to get the % generation to be displayed again turned out as simple as logging out and back in. Yes it is this simple if one just knew or if a standard msg is sent via the daily msg function in the APP.

I was sorted out by Solis SA support by Charles after he bounced it to China.

It is just a pity that a lot of daily data is gone for good as part of the upgrade. No wonder i am so against upgrades if it is not known that the upgrade has merit and fixing bugs. I wish I could roll back.

As it stands if a go back to view my daily stats I find some 4 days in succession the APP shows the same values which is not correct. Luckily I had it recorded but still bad that the historic data will then never be correct. 😕 Some days even show a zero Wh value.

Some members reminded me that this is the norm when one uses the manufacturer's cloud APP.

Good Day,

For technical assistance with Solis Inverters - Please send an e-mail to the below e-mail address stating the following please.

1. Inverter Model

2. Inverter Serial Number

3. Datalogger Serial number

4. Short description of the issue

5. If Possible a short video of the issue

Our Technical Support Engineers will respond to your request timeously.

Hi @Scorp007

My 2c worth on the Solis cloud app.

This is a website and refreshing (incl browser cache) may solve issues. Furthermore, the website is updated every 5 minutes and as such the snapshot of data may not always aggregate as expected.

My findings is that non-realtime updates are difficult to interpret, however, seems like the new S6 may have resolved this with their real-time bluetooth updates :)

Pieter lately I have my inverters on the APP. On the APP I have both on but the 4 yrs old is still on the better functionality version 1 web. There is no link between the Web pages and the APP itself. My newer Solis cannot be added to the newer web page and I can thus only see the limited data on the APP. Support tried to add the newer Solis on the Web based APP but no luck.

Also the lost data when they updated the APP is lost for good. It is a pity with such a reliable inverter that the manufacturer APP is not at the same level. No wonder users go for 3rd party monitoring software.

Aah, thank you for that @Scorp007.

If I understand you correctly, you run on a legacy app from Solis. I must add that using the new version of their app and website works well for me, not knowing what functionality I miss though.

The only issue I have is the 5 minute lag time updating the app from the inverter. However, the S6 solves this with a real-time Bluetooth connection.

I wish to get my hands on this S6 machine, but I need a Return on Investment on my current Solis Hybrid inverter first 😕

A pity that after another update of the Solis Cloud APP and data shown is no longer valid.

APP was updated on 19 Aug 2023. Both my inverters were switched off for the day. Both inverters will show on their own stats on the graph and in text that zero yield was provided. The Overview of the plant adding both together suddenly gets 1.8kWh from who knows where.

The question is what other data has also been taken from where? This is just like with the previous update and also reported by other users in the reviews on the Playstore.

One would expect beter from a so called leading brand.

I just went in to look at the current information and while the inverter is still off the graph shows zero yield yet the text again gets 0.7kWh from the clouds or from another member.

Over the weekend I had the one inverter on for about 30min during good production. The APP just failed to show any value. To make things worse it was constantly giving a last update as 3-10min ago and also displayed a good signal strength from the logger.

Another Solis Cloud update on the APP and again data is scr--Ed up. I wish my panels would produce power at 02h30 in the morning. The end of date time is spot on so it's not a time zone problem. LS was also correct at 10-12h00.

Seems like with most inverter makers... the hardware is great, but the cloud is more like a best effort approach.

I sometimes wonder how can they offer a free cloud service from a once-off sale, and the inverter is likely to last 10 years

It costs money to maintain systems, they should just charge a monthly fee.

If this was my inverter I would just store the info in home assistant.

In this case there is no comms from the inverter but via the WiFi stick.

Technically the comms is just a wire and you could listed for all the logger stick messages (without affecting the logger), decode the messages use and store the data yourself. Once you understand modbus format then decoding is quite easy. Thus far I have only pulled data from solis inverters without a logger stick

Thanks for the info.

I have sent you a PM.

Their apps PV is completely wrong since I installed mine.

What I have noticed,  is voltage is always 20v+ on pv1 and pv2. So I would assume there is a rounding error when this is passed to their cloud, and somehow there is amps also passed.

In my case, I generate 1.5kw with no panels 😅

I completely dropped the app, and just use HA.

I am now noticing the generation seems to stop each day around 17:10, even though the sun is still out, then the odd day it will keep on producing until 9pm?

Not sure what's caused this to happen. Anyone else with the same issue?

Where are you from? 9pm generation in SA is highly unlikely. Which inverter are you using? What panels? Do you have a chart?
