Apexium EVE cells

Featured Replies

Hi

Received my 16 x 280ah cells and Apexium 200amp BMS (Seplos V2), please can I ask if anybody has a design for a DIY battery box, also did you guys put anything between the cells? I am still looking for battery terminals, fuse holder and fuse and a 250amp dc circuit breaker. I am also trying to work out how to mount the BMS so that you can access the 485 and can ports and see the LED lights, then also the screen as it does not have much depth, so I think that might need to be a thin ply or something.

Would really like to see what others have done.

  • I have found the seplos BMS to do a pretty good job at top balancing if keeping the pack at 100% SOC until its done. It has a process called intermittent charge/discharge once it hits 100% SOC and bef

Are your rj45 ports+lights on a separate board or all mounted on the BMS PCB?

Led lights you honestly don't need to see. I extended the display cable and i have installed the display near the inverter. Terrible pic but you get the idea

@cp69 it is all on the BMS PCB. I like your idea of extending the screen, where did you get the screen surround? Did you make your own cable.

It came with the BMS along with the button caps. I extended the display cable with a cat5 network cable. It's about 3m in length

Did you buy your own Seplos v3 BMS, mine I got through Apexium and it just has the screen no surround and no buttons??

Weird. My v3 came with it all. I got my BMS straight from Seplos. to mount the screen I just glued it in from the back with a glue gun

Yes do a pre-charge with a car 24V headlamp bulb(cheap) or a 5-20W resistor in the range of 22-68 ohm. It can also be a 100W+ 220V filament bulb. 5 seconds is normally enough.

can someone explain this to me? I've bought the Victron Multiplus II 48V x 2 special and planning to connect up my DIY EVE based battery

Haven't started yet. I'm still too new with this and every time I want to start, I find out there is something else that first needs to happen.

I waited 2 months for my bench PSU to arrive so that I can top balance them, but then found out I first need to discharge the batteries @ 25C, then charge it at 448W to 3.65V - rest 30 mins. Discharge at constant 448W to 2.5V (5 times).

So now I'm first doing research into what I should get to discharge the battery.

In the meantime I'm still busy trying to design a linear case in Freecad/Onshape.com that sucks in power from both sides and vents out at the top. Also building a chimney for my Victrons, so that it can vent out directly from the top of my roof because my garage gets very warm.

I spoke to Candice, she said this was already done by the manufacturer. sjoe

Sure. Here are some closeups of the serial numbers as well. I had to drastically reduce the sizes to stick to the 3mb max upload.

Here is the packet you circled

@Pho3niX90  I just wanted to confirm with you, does this BMS have Bluetooth as I have the same BMS from Apexium, but have not connected it up as yet. When looking online they show that the Bluetooth module is on the back of the screen and the ones we have does not seem to have this module?

Yes it does have bluetooth, you need to download the bms app from seplos website, not the newest, only the one that states "BMS".

They replied on another e-mail now:

We have already shut down our warehouse in South Africa, and all the goods have been cleared out.

We will no longer ship goods to the South African warehouse in the future.

If you are interested, you can place an order directly from China.

If you don't mind can you share the details who you used otherwise DM me please. What did you bring in.

Can you perhaps DM me the details?

Because on Apex store i see 15KW + DIY Box for R21000 (Stock in China). Asked them for a quote on delivery & other fees

Sure.

I used Dongguan Belifine.

32 x eve 280A cells, with 3 x JK BMS, was around 30K, with delivery.

Third BMS is to replace the seplos.

Downside is that shipping takes 50days. My delivery will be here in April.

They ship to a local partner here in Edenvale, where you will be collecting it.

Upside is, you have options between brands, grades etc. I just went with what I currently have.

My cells arrived yesterday, and went to pick them up today. Compared to the previous Apexium method, this was way smoother. They can either load the pallet sealed as sent on a flatbed for you, or you can open the pallet, and transfer the sealed boxes to a vehicle.

All and all, from payment, to delivery, it took exactly 44 days.

There were no customs nor vat to be paid.

Thanks for the info @Pho3niX90 , I wanted to ask what battery box/cabinet do you use or build for your DIY batteries.

I just use Certo cabinets, as they are inexpensive https://www.takealot.com/all?_sb=1&_r=1&_si=8018d7def2c0f3a59031283559cf5b7c&qsearch=certo

But to save space, I am now looking at one of these, just waiting for the manufacturer to confirm if they can reinforce the shelves to carry more than 70kg

Did you ever get any feedback about the cabinet carrying more than 70Kg's per shelf?
