Always wondered why Victron is so expensive below news clip on the subject.

From that article:

“Although the list indicates that it is a recommended price, Victron, in practice, insists on a maximum discount from its recommended retail price list when the Victron products are sold to end customers by online stores,”

How would that make Victron SO EXPENSIVE? It sounds quite opposite. Victron insist the most discount to be passed to the end user. It might piss off some resellers but at the end of the day, it's for the consumer benefit. The title of the article sound more of a clickbait or just plain bad journalism.

Maybe the journalist doesn't know how to express the actual story, however, I do know the legal team that have carried out this legal investigation of Victron. All I can say is that there is definitely collusion that took place & Victron will think twice when trying to fix pricing amongst it's distribution channels. All it took was a single complaint from someone who was doing some shopping around & once it landed on the correct desk, so the legal process and investigation took place. 

I think it's a great thing that has happened & will now make pricing competitive, however, Victron is still a premium valued product so what that does to influence better pricing I'm not so sure. 

Victron is half the price it was last year in my Country. The Victron Multiplus II 48/5000/70-50 you can buy here new for 850€ and the Victron SmartSolar MPPT 150/60 is for 250€ to buy. So you are right, Victron is a very good produkt. I have had a IMEON and because i have had so much trouble with the company i sold all and buy Victron. I can tell you it was the best i could do, all work fine now and i do all by myself. Also many people buy a Deye Hybrid and it shoulsd also be good for DIY
