It is a good day for solar today. I am putting load on my panels to see if I can hit an efficiency of 8.0 for the day. I just hope the clouds stay away.

Wow Don, 8 will be brilliant.

My record on my 2.04KW array was 15.129kWh @7.416kWh/kW on 18 January. 5:20AM to 7:15pm

I now have a 3.4KW array on a 3kw inverter so best I have managed is 22.502kWh @6.618kWh/kW with 20 minutes of clouds. 6AM to 6:30 pm. That was yesterday!

Days are getting shorter, so I suspect I will not hit 7 again till next summer.

My current record is 7.55 and 28.5 kWh for the day. That was on 16 February 2017. I need to go over 30 kWh for the day to achieve an efficiency of 8.0, but I think I can beat that today.

So I did it. I improved my personal efficiency record from 7.55 to 9.34. That was more than I expected. Also the best efficiency on the leader board for the day. RS Home also did well with an efficiency of 7.05.

My maximum solar production for the day at 3 820 watts from my 3 780 watt panels. Slightly over 100%.

Well done especially if you consider that RS Home has a GTI.

Thanks Chris. I had a GTI Axpert today. I made sure my load was at maximum that the panels could handle throughout the day after I decided to have a go at my previous record. I slipped up earlier in the morning and took a bit of a dip. Damn, if I just had an Infini, I could do this every day with my solar tracker. Tomorrow it is back to only supply what I need.

9.34 is phenomenal!. Well Don(e)!

I managed to break 20 kW !!! in 21 st spot today. Also my best, and improved from 4.34 to 5.56 today. Been managing maximum load most of the day.

What I've noticed is that max production window is slowly diminishing, as well as overall production was fallen from 3700W to just over 3030W today. This trend will continue till winter solstice. Only went live mid Feb this year on ICC, so lost stats during the 2 peak summer months.

Mind you, having looked at pvoutput again, I see user "Salt Rock Solar" managed 10.16 efficiency today. Respect for that 2600W inverter that ran @ 3300W for most of the peak time.

Also, noticed a lot of production "after dark". They need to show us how they do that!

Sidewinder, that is great. Remember, this is not a race. You compete against yourself. You cannot compete against guys with 30 or 60 panels. Therefore I don't even look at kWh output, only efficiency, then the playing field is more or less equal. Yes, I can see that the sun has moved north. I think from here on forward it will become more and more difficult to produce what we have produced in the last couple of months.

That is bullshit figures. He popped online at 10h00 for the first time and already produced 22.5 kWh at an efficiency of 5.6, haha. That is more than his daily average. 22.5  kWh / 3 hours of sunlight for the day means he produced 7 300 watt flat out for 3 hours since 7h00 with his 4 000 watt panels. That is close to 200%. Then in the next 8 hours he cannot even equal that production, what a joke. His current production at 10h00 was only 2450 watt. How did he manage a constant 7 300 watt the 3 hours before that? That is something Edwards Pharmacy does with 60 panels and full sun at that time of day. He must post his production graphs for the day. I would like to see how he produced 22.5 kWh in the first 3 hours. That must be an all time world record.

If I had 1 more hour of sun, I would have run past him with his 20 kWh head start.

Yes, I wish pvoutput would allow people to sort according to efficiency, and not just production.

You can just click on the heading of the column.

Must be the strong street lights shining on the panels at night, not sure.

Thanks mark, that worked. I have never been able to do that. Here you cannot do that.

Don.  I think you can but try and see if you were logged in.  I have just tried your link above and no issue with the sort.

Regards

Mark

I'm with @Don, as soon as I log in, no sorting on headings.

Thanks Mark, for the link, sorting works nice, all that is missing is the other pages of users (normally at the bottom of page). Us small ouks will never make it to the top 23!

Mark, yes, I am logged in. I tried it with different browsers as well.

Very interesting...

This page is for the Southern African Team members... so the South Africa (location set) pvo members are only on the list if they have joined the team.

I've just tested the live outputs screen again and I can sort them.  http://pvoutput.org/live.jsp?o=gss&d=desc

I used to have a 600w (draadkar - as @Chris Hobson  called it) - found it very easy to get very high efficiency due to the panel being able to run as max for long periods.  200ah bank and 600w has to really work to charge them.  I think I got 129% the one day.

Regards

Mark

@Don do you donate?

Yes, many hours.:) . I can sort on many other pages, except the South Africa page.
