Sunsynk 8kw - Setting for a rainy day
Make sure your batteries have enough SOC before loadshedding to get you through that period if your PV is low on that day. Once your grid is gone you will automatically use battery

April was my first full month with panels installed. Quite a few bad weather days aswell. Eskom only used to avoid loadshedding.

Understanding 2 trackers into 1 MPPT
There is only 1 mppt tracker per mppt. If you add 2 strings to 1 mppt they are simply paralleled.

Sizing a string for SunSynk 5KW Inverter
Yes you can feed excess solar to your non essentials. The wording in the Deye menu is slightly different to sunsynk. So yes. Export to CT but not to grid

Max time leave as 0- Sunsynk mppt ideal voltage.
How much per panel increase did you notice when using 8 panels?- Sunsynk mppt ideal voltage.
Thanks. It's just that I've seen comments about getting mppt's on sunsynks above 300V for better efficiency. You sure 200V will be good?- Sizing a string for SunSynk 5KW Inverter
Slava Ukraini- Sunsynk mppt ideal voltage.
Just want to make sure I'll be OK. Been running a 8kw sunsynk and 8x JA 550W panels on 1 mppt for a couple of months. I'm going to be adding more panels on the other mppt soon. Took delivery today of 12x Canadian solar 455W panels model CS6L-455MS for a 6S2P configuration due to roof size and orientation. My concern is that this model has a lower voltage STC Vmp 34.6V Imp 13.17A NMOT Vmp 32.4V Imp 10.52A This is going to give me about 200V on the mppt. Is this not really ideal? Will I lose efficiency? I don't want to put more panels per string.- Include electric geyser in solar panel array, or install solar geyser?
I installed a solar geyser 15 years ago. Best investment ever. I would do it again in a heart beat. Solar geysers still get hot enough when it's cloudy. Your solar power system might not be enough to heat a standard geyser on a cloudy day. Your system can be smaller with the addition of a solar geyser.- Earthing solar panels
This is true. A 2m earth rod in hard crusty ground will be useless- Battery only more and Tesla charger error
You need an earth neutral bridge on your inverter load outputs.- New earting regulations?
While talking batteries here. I've been told that batteries cannot be inside a home, they must be behind a firewall ie in the garage. So what if you don't have a garage? I've seen so many installations here with batteries inside homes.- Clothes dryer
So these heat pump dryers use hot water to heat?- Sunsynk grid trickle
When I've had the mains on and a grid trickle I've noticed when PV is strong but I have high switching loads that as the load switches off it will even back feed up to 400W for a few seconds. I don't think the mppt is fast enough so it has a push pull effect on the grid rather. But with the mains breaker off I'm worried that this with have extra wear on the inverter and batteries.- Clothes dryer
Yeah it uses 200-300L of water to wash a full load and I'm on rain water tanks so it hurts. Time to start saving for new appliances now😢- Clothes dryer
Yeah I have a huge LG 18kg top loader. All the tricks with it too. Inverter drive, turbo spin and a fan but damn it uses a lot of water.- Sunsynk grid trickle
My prepaid meter gives no problems with a 20W grid trickle but I'm cheap so I've been switching my breaker off. I've noticed with high switching loads that it fast charges and discharges battery and was thinking that might not be great for the inverter and battery. Could I try have the mains breaker on and grid trickle set to 0? I'm thinking it might use the grid rather for sudden spikes and put less wear on everything else.- Clothes dryer
I keep telling my wife this but she likes to dry the small stuff instead of hanging🤣 I'm using an old defy and it's 2200w and cycles on/off. Was just looking around but any heating appliance is around 2000W really.- Clothes dryer
What is the most energy efficient clothes dryer available?- Sunsynk + Freedom Won setup: batteries not kicking in during loadshedding
It should definitely use the batteries when there is no grid. There is no setting on the inverter to turn that on or off. Even the system timer is ignored when there is no mains supply. There must be a fault. Maybe the battery bms is not allowing the discharge.- Solar Panel mounting kits for DIY installation
I also don't like the 600W panels due to lower voltage and higher amps. 550W panels have a higher voltage like the 450's They all around the same size and weight. Rubicon sell decent tilt brackets. I put 4 x 550W panels on an IBR Roof that also had a 3 degree slope but I used the tilt brackets to lift them to 22 degrees- Can you link 540w JA to 540w canadian solar panel in same string?
