  1. Remove the suspect battery and see if there's a change . That corrosion does not look good . Best send the battery back to supplier for inspection . That lithium switch is off and dip switches are all off so that lithium must not in use . If all the batterys dip switch or all off position then can't think the stack was communicating with each othere so can only think the battery were out of balance
  2. I have advised people to upgrade there system or install now as priced are good . Install now or upgrade not for load shedding but to save a few Rand's on electricity as it's clearly not getting cheaper and so the more you can power from the sun the better for the long run . Guess with time they going to find ways of bashing grid connected property that is not using grid on good sunny day . So it has its risks going off grid with grid connection . For a month now I'm off grid and have managed to go through 5 rainy days in Limpopo with out issues but just scraped through so 4 more 550 panel are on order .
  3. Yip it's interesting how some inverters work differently to otheres that small amount of volts through the night I have always thought it to be a small amount of leak in the inverters components but it could be othere reasons . Interesting what ZS1SCI said

One way would be is for someone to disconnect the PV from the inverter and measure the volts with an multimeter that's coming from the panels to determine if it's the PV generating a small amount of volts or just the inverter reading internal volts . I would do it but I'm not home for 2 weeks . Scorp007 I have seen this with synapse 3+ inverter were it stores all the energy internally for some time after sun set . Here are 2 inverter of many that I can shear that also show constantly volts through the night
  5. It's normal for most Inverter to show a few Wats , don't think it's the panels generating any Wats but the inverter showing Wats that's not really there due the a bit a current in the mppt controller components . Some inverters show a few volts as well

A friend bought an ECCO 3.5kw and lithium but just to find out it only has RS232 port even if it's advertised with 485 port Ecco 3.5kw has an RS232 port look like for dongle but no RS485 port for communication to battery but yet setting for lithium communication . Has any one successful got the RS232 port to communicate with battery RS485 or can port .

The question is what is the battery volts when it reports 100% Seen this more than ones were BMS goes out of calibration so when the BMS reports 40% the cells are really completely drained and so in reality they are 0% . BMS upgrade normally help as they have fix bugs on newer updates . Most of the time we change inverter charging from percentage to volts and charge the battery to specified volts for the battery installed after fully charged change setting back to percentage. Take note if you do change setting to charge by volts be 100% that the volts you set into the inverter are the volts specific for your lithium

  9. Update . My brother-in-law decide to order an lithium as there are not any bad remarks or review on this site . The price was good and fell into his budget as he's in a wheelchair and does not make loads of money . It been 2 weeks Friday that he placed the order so far all he is getting the run around 🫣 Carful red flags . Will update if anything changes for the good

    If you store chemical in the box with the pump like some do the chemical can damage the bearing of the pump

    What size inverter and size mower you have . 2.2 kw mower will momentarily make a 5 kw give an over load error on start up . Most inverter can handle a spike of up to around 10kw for a second so inverter normally does not shut down with spikes . Could be bad bearing or cap that could be now also on issue . Sorry pool
  12. Nice thank . This ECCO inverter great apart from one issue that will make me replace this inverter with an luxpower . 50% is to low leaving not much through the night for power failure or load shedding if you only have one lithium
  13. This the correct way to connect battery in parallel and have never had issues with this method
  14. Hope you came right . The BMS has gone to sleep or shut down due to low volts . If the battery has an rest button by pushing the reset on some lithium will wake up the BMS . If this does not work and you have no power supply for the volts lithium then what I use never has failed me is 2 old cars mechanical ignition resistor connect in series between the lithium and gels to wake up the BMS . The resistor will help to not spike the lithium with to much amps and an 1 second touch is enough to wake up the BMS . You can also use this resistors when first connect your battery to the inverter so not surge the inverter caps inside . I even use this resistors to balance out of balance gel , lead battery on 24v and 48 volt systems

    Just my thought . On my CCTV when inverter is running on solar battery mode the TV or even monitor would flicker on off a black screen or stay for long periods on black screen even my open view decoder on hdmi cable would do the same and had to use RCA cable to fix the problem on the decoder this was with 2 different inverter an 3 kw and 5.5kw inverter I install one of these red surge protector wall socket plugs by chances as I had one and gone was the problem . Won't hurt to install one of these plugs as they are cheap and see what happens .
  16. See on face book adds there's infinity-group-company advertising solar goods at good prices , looks like from Durban . They deal on line only so can't phone them . Has any used them in the pasted , are they reliable . Brother -in -law wants to order lithium from them but would like to know if they are reliable as lithium battery are not cheap and has not got extra money if things go bad
  17. First 3.65 per cell is highest you should go so 54.75 is max and should only be charge to this volts if your BMS is out of calibration . Let the lithium rest for an hour after charging to 54.5 volts and see what's it's resting voltage is and add one volts more for float normally 51v to 52v volts is good for float . Floating at to high volts will reduce the batteries life . If I can remember right when I had 48v 15 cel lithium it rested at about 50v
  18. The charts are not very accurate . On my 51.2 system the volts will settle at 53.4v after about an hour. On my mother in law 25.6v system the lithium will settle at 26.6v after about an hour .
  19. I had 3 kw 24v inverter for years and used kettles , microwave , toasters , hair dryers, with out issues . It's more down to what battery's you using . Gels will suffer with high loads . Most lithium can handle up to 100amp loads some 50amp but the BMS will cut the power so protecting the cells from overloads . You have 5 kw inverter around 51v so amps draw from battery's is half the 3kw 24v inverters at the same Wats load so don't think you have anything to worry about on your 5kw if you using lithium with discharge max rating is 100amp .

    I ran for years 3 strings of 2 panels (2s X 3p ) on a 6 mm pv cable but on low volts 110v mptt controller with out any issues
  21. We had an inverter do strange things but not all the time would depend on what was powered in the house in the end it was one neutral was not separated from grid. So are all your neutrals running from the inverter on there own neutral block
  22. Just changing the subject a bit . This ECCO inverter has one main issue and was wondering if any has a update software that has fixed this issue . In battery type lithium the highest the setting soc back to utility can be set to is 50% so in SBU mode if it switches to grid at 50% then only leaving 30% to 35% battery for load shedding or power failure this is not going to work . It would work perfectly if I could set it to switch over at say 80% every night . Hopefully someone has a patch to fix this stupid problem that will make me dump this inverter and get something else .
  23. More info on your inverter setting will help . But sounds like you have inverter set on SBU with charging from grid if there's no solar CSO . Lots of expert inverters will then with these setting switch between grid and battery every time volts reach volts point back to grid and volts point back to battery for as long as there's no solar .

Was using about 18 units a day that around 540 a month after installing gas warmer (geysers) and solar we using now 3.5 units a day as we use eskom at night but that will soon change as I'm ordering anothere lithium next week this will then make it possible to run 24/7 on inverter as long as weathers good .
