How many peak surges can an inverter handle?
Good day, Sunset1. what type of batteries do you have connected to the inverter?

Inverter / Battery Problem
Good day, what is the individual voltage of the 12v batteries? it might be that one battery is at 14.6V (fully charged) and the other at 12.8V ( almost empty rest voltage) and as soon as the inverter try to energize the caps the current demand is too big, the low voltage battery shuts down resulting in a open circuit in your battery wiring. if this is the case you can charge the low SOC battery with a 12v charger until the voltage match or almost match the other battery's voltage, then connect them in parallel and charge again with a 12v charger. this is called balancing it will be a good idea to invest in a battery balancer.

12V 200a BMS for home built Lithium battery
my opinion, Daly is rubbish. cannot agree with you more on JBD and JK

Hoselect 48v Battery Failure - Is it worth trying to repair?
Yes it is NMC, if you look on the bms menu under cell voltage you will see that the cells get charged to 4.2v and that is NMC full voltage, lifepo4 is 3.65v

Inverter VS DC welder
I have a 3kw meanwell ts3000 inverter, and I regularly weld at 100 amps, according to bmv data it draws 150 - 170A to strike a arc and between 90 and 100 when pooling the metal. its a 24v system. I wont weld for hours on end at a 100% duty cycle, do not think my equipment will survive that punishment.

Used 48v back-up batteries wanted?
because of this I will never buy any bsl product. spamming a forum is not the way to attract customers.

Nissan Leaf Lithium pack or cells available 25ah cells Lithium-Ion 3.7v per cell 7.4v per module
good day Zimnismoboy34, can you post pictures of the actual cells that you are selling. from which generation Leaf are the cells in your possession?

BMS with active balancer
Most common Ive seen is the JK bms. try lithium-cells.co.za or altergrid.co.za and maybe electroman.co.za

Teardown of Nenergy 24v 100ah you never know what you pay for
thank you for the pics. will try to ID it. agree, that 200a JK is a beast of a unit, have the 100a units, and they never skip a beat. are you going to rebuild the battery with the same cells or are you going to replace all 8? at least the mechanical construction of the battery seems decent.

Teardown of Nenergy 24v 100ah you never know what you pay for
71.3 Ah as tested at the cell factory(re-hand facility as these are clearly not new cells), and yet they sell it as a 100Ah battery. do you have more pics of the bms? I would like to identify this bms.

Ups High Battery Voltage
UNFORTUNATLY I DO NOT KNOW OF MANUFACTURERS OF HV LITIUM BATTERIES FOR UPS'E. I USED TO BUILD BATTERIES FOR 72V UPS'E THATS 24 CELLS OF LIFEPO4. I STILL HAVE A 24S BMS LYING AROUND
-
Ups High Battery Voltage
I do not know of any single piece battery in that voltage range. the only option I know of will be a custom made lifepo4 battery at that voltage. do you require 2 batteries? one nominal voltage of 192v and the other with a nominal voltage of 92v?

DIY portable power station from existing parts
3.2v cells are lifepo4, 3.7v cells is other lithium chemistries commonly referred to as NMC. I will have a look at the pics later tonight when I'm home. found this teardown video: it is a 12.8v 4s lifepo4 battery, with 3 cells in parallel to make a 12.8v 18Ah lifepo4 battery. the cells is 32700 or 32650 lifepo4, they are available from electroman not sure of other suppliers of these the BMS is propriety to the unit, will not get the same bms after market, but you should be able to get a similar one.

DIY portable power station from existing parts
Good day markusRoot without knowing any details of the power station you mentioned here is my answers. 1. yes, but it will be a lot less hassle and cheaper to just build a new battery pack for your power station(or repair the current one) 2. yes it wil be, check electroman, bid or buy, ect ect 3. maybe, it depends on the power stations charging profile and battery voltage, if it has a 24v (7s NMC) battery then a 24v (8s lifepo4) will work fine, also for 48v (13s NMC or 14s NMC) to replace with a 15s or 16s lifepo4 battery configuration. the S stand for the amount of cells connected in series to achieve a certain overall voltage. 4. depends on the build of the power station, but it should be possible. what I will do in your situation is install a xt60,xt90 or A anderson plug(depends on the max amp drawn from battery will determine the plug to use) that is connected to the internal battery so that you can add external packs in parallel with the internal one(plug and play, just dont connect a full external with a empty internal batery, the inrush current can and probably will damage your bms/cells 5 all you need to build battery packs is a spotwelder, nickel strips, cells, bms and some insulating material and GOOGLE, spotwelder for lithium batteries is less than R800 use whichever route you follow with your powerstaion just remember to have fun, be safe and learn, in the modern times we live in we totally forgot the immense feeling of accomplishment when something we build/repaired/modified ourselves successfully, is put to use ever day and becomes a necessity in your day to day life to offset a curveball(loadshedding) that life threw at you.
