Andries reacted to RikH in MECER Axpert MK Plus 3kva - DEADYou should ask @Coulomb, he's the "axpert".

Andries reacted to Coulomb in VOLTEX MKS 5KVA E9Generally true. However, it can be used as a workaround for the premature float bug, especially in models where no patched firmware is available. In these cases, the equalisation voltage (setting 34) would be set to the same (or very nearly the same) as the bulk/absorb battery voltage (setting 26).
If setting 34 is significantly higher than setting 26, then this is indeed bad for your non-lead-acid battery, and you should turn it off by changing setting 33 (battery equalisation enable/disable) to EdS (disable). [ Edit: when this is done, none of the many other equalisation settings have any effect, so that's the only one you need to change. ]

Andries reacted to francois in Wanted: Pylontech CableThis Sunix cable available from Matrix Warehouse will also work:
https://www.sunix.com/en/product_detail.php?cid=1&kid=3&gid=18&pid=1136
It uses the Prolific PL2303 chip as mentioned by @Youda

Andries reacted to Youda in Youda's off-grid LABYes @Andries, that picture is correct. I've just checked the cable with the multimeter.
Keep in mind that COLORS are not important, as they can differ based on the vendor of the cable.
Just follow the wiring:
The RJ-11 have to be the one with just 4 golden contacts, not 6. PIN1 is not used PIN2 leads to DB9 PIN3 PIN3 leads to DB9 PIN2 PIN4 leads to DB9 PIN5 DB9 connectors have small numbers imprinted directly on them. You can't mess-up this part.
And here's the more obvious picture for you:

Andries reacted to ___ in Pylontech RepairsMy guess would be lightning...
If all else fails, you could probably repack the cells and use another BMS.

Andries got a reaction from ___ in Pylontech RepairsIf I may ask what happend to them?

Andries got a reaction from Chris Hobson in Lightning StrikeHey guys, how you all doing, for a while I was very much quiet on the forum,
2weeks to 3 weeks ago on an sunday afternoon the thunder became very harse,so me and my girlfriend where watching an showmax movie,I told her,I am going to disconnect the eskom (eskom is only backup,I use ICC so switch eskom on when battery level are under 70%) at the breaker not in the ICC software and also disconnect the panels,so basically I think I will be safe with no strikes, after 15min the thunder were flippen heavy and like a minute or so,one moerse strike with flash in my living room I only remembering the little stars that was flying around in front of my eyes, the girlfriend...she was laying on the floor with a pillow on her head..so after an half an hour I realise that my internet is offline and my raspberry pi is dead (mors dood) I wonder hoe de donner did that happend.
So investigating begins,my internet tower were striked (because it sill got powered from my solar),network cable is going to "poe" powersupply then it goes to access point, another network cable going to my pi,luckily I got spare pi board but older version,so just swop memory card and contact manie to help me register the software again, big thumps up to Manie he was very helpfull.
But there was another problem the pi did not received any data from my inverter and with lot of testing I realise that the usb port is dead on my inverter, contact the next day mustek to order new usb module (inverter still on warranty) they did not have any spare so the branch in PE order new inverter from Johburg to break up for spares (jip thats funny) I will attached some photos when I was investigating. So the guys that have wireless internet, turn that thing off when thunder is near!

Andries got a reaction from Chris Hobson in Axpert 3Kva MKS with more than 600W solar panelsHi Giant122,
The Axpert 3kva mks Plus is little more expensive and can take up to 1500w panels because it is an MPPT version, but the mks is PWM version and is only allowed 600w,
Why dont buy an 60A MPPT charge controller and hook it up on you battery bank and it will allow more panels.
-
Andries reacted to ___ in Axpert 3Kva MKS with more than 600W solar panelsI believe that's a PWM model. PWM chargers cannot handle oversizing. It will let the smoke out of something.
Even for mppt, in my experience, 50% is pushing it. I've done it with a bluesolar mppt and it complained of the occasional overcurrent event. I would not do it on a voltronic.
-
Andries reacted to pilotfish in 12 Volt Inverter with 24 Volt ChargerIt is not safe and you will convert your charger to smoke, unless it is auto voltage sensing in which case it will settle at 12v. Your inverter and charger are effectively connected to the same terminals which cant be 12v and 24v at the same time.

Andries got a reaction from Chris Hobson in Axpert mks3kva plus wierd problemHi Aid,
How thick is your cables and what is the lenght of the battery cables?
