Question for the guys in Cape Town side that have the inverters connected to grid , who have check there logs if there is any voltage drop? My MLT is connected to the grid, charging and floating the batteries "ups way". So last night I do my regular checks and stuff, and went in to the log to see what the inverter is doing "still need to get a bridge unit for the MLT so that i can remotely manege the unit" , and I pick up that early in the morning times the inverter pick up low voltage from the grid side. Same story this morning when i went to go check again. Funny thing is, after i pick up this last night, about a hour later I spotted a post on the STOP COCT Facebook group , where someone spotted the same thing where they have a voltage drop and where some have reported there prepaid meters use more units , we had the same report in Protea Hoogte where people say there units go quicker.

Thanks @Jaco de Jongh. I was think this way to, just needed someone to point me in that direction. Then I can run 6mm cable sets from the panels to the combiner box and like you say, less amps and hardware and stuff. Already made up the 25mm2 cable between the inverter and mppt. The MLT uses welder quick fittings to connect the MPPT to the inverter.

Quick question for the guys that now there way around this question. Bought last week a Microcare 60 amp MPPT to run on my MLT powerstar inverter.. Busy doing the layout for the solar panels and connection to the fuse box and all the stuff that go's with this. My question is, must I run 3S/3P or must I go for 2s/5p? The MPPT max watts is 3000 watt on 48v battery connection "i'm running 48v battery setup" and max 150v. The solar panels specs is 325w Pmax , 45.5v VOC and 9.34A Isc. So if I run 3S/3P "gives me 9 panels" then I will get 2925w, 136.5v and 28.02Amps. With this I will run 3 sets of cable to the fuse box. And if i run 2S/5P "gives me 10 panels" then I will get 3250w, 91v and 46.70Amps. With this setup I will max out the watts that will go to waste. will be running 5 sets of cable. Lost of watts and volts and amps must be taken in to calculations. Ek luister by die radio. Thanks

Jip, spoken to one of there guys in cape town side yesterday to get a price. It's two batteries, both are 24v that they connect in series to make up 48v setup. They busy designing software that can connect to the BMS. In the beginning they did use a local brand BMS but now they using this one that they selling with the package. How is the performers so far on your battery setup?

@Bobster Keep us posted. It can maybe be a bad connection or something. I'm looking into to get a set of this Revov batteries for my setup. What was the price on your set?

@Bobster did you sort out your problem? remember, that batteries is 24v per unit so you need to connect the 2 batteries in series to make 48v.

Oooooo yes, and it's a bidirectional Hybrid to.

You can add MLT Powerstar to the list that can Handle pass-through. It's got it's own build in Shunt that can check how much power it gets from your separate MPPT " it's got a input on the back" and then shows it on the unit. It's even got 4 output settings that they call Smart output it can manage so when you have no load dearing the day it can shift that power what sun is generating to something like your geyser or anything that the inverter can handle. There is more stuff this unit can do that i still need to read up and check but I'm really impres with my H8 unit.

OOOOOoo yes, and you can check at Rubicon to. They stock all this stuff.

This string boxes you can build your self way cheaper. Places like Mantech stock fuse holders for really good prices and the boxes. The connectors you can buy from them to or from Bid Or Buy. ACDC stock all this stuff to or any proper electronics place.

Jip Jip!!! Let we don't go there, I'm into high end audio stuff. Got of a collection of stuff. One of them is a Yamaha M80 Class A amp, it's a tank of amp and not on the light side of the weight, and then a musical fidelity f15 with ecc88 valve pre, just over 25KG and then a Marshall Leach power amp. Old design and stuff but still performs really good. Class D stuff is catching on but will still not come close to Class A and A/B and Valve Amps.

Thanks what i like about that. Not really with the new units. The PWM or MPPT is a separate board but the rest of the stuff is all on one board. I got 2 of this units that is faulty at home. One with a code 9 that i can't find the problem and other one where i replace the mosfets and stuff around it and still white smoke popping up. Cut my lost on that and expensive school fees.

Nice about this stuff is, you can replace the parts individually in this units where with the transformerless unit it's a bit of story to find the problem.

I always like to see how the inside of electronics work and how they are build and look. There is a lot of different brands on the market and they all look different inside. So lets post images of how your inverter or mppt looks like inside. "please don't break the seal on your unit if it's still under warranty" 😆 So let I start. So after last week after popping in by MLT head office, and seeing how this units looks like inside, I bought one for my setup. Everything in this units is oversize. This unit weight is 77kg.

@vethomas don't stress about it, both you hit the nail on the head, because some of this installers don't even tell you that they actually selling you a CLONE inverter because they don't even know that they selling a clone and then if you want to contact them if something go's wrong, then they missing in action.

Hey guys, so I got my hands on a MLT Powerstar II 6kw inverter. Who of you guys have installed/work on them before? Before going the Bridge " https://mltinverters.com/our-products/bridge-display/ " way, I first want to check if I can connect mine to my computer. I try to use a RS-232 to USB cable to connect to it but no luck. I see it's got a wifi and tcp/ip function in it's settings when you switch it on and going manual in it's settings. One thing i can say, everything inside this unit is massive!!!!!

There some guys that is using them. I even contact the person that is the agent for them, but didn't get really far with him.
