  3. I've been looking at the Infini Super for a long time but the first ones available in SA was quit expensive at about R35 000. The price is now almost half of that which makes it excellent value for money. It is definitely my first choice when I upgrade. Another plus point is that you can parallel up to 6 units. So now you can have a 8 kw full hybrid inverter with 10 kw of PV input capability for less than 40 grant - beat that.

  6. Hi Chris, I think I am going to come and spy on your farm to see how you store your enengy these days. You've got me all curios now.

  11. I also got my Vision inverter today. Johann you must make sure to upload enough pics because this is going to be my first solar installation and I can do with any help I can get.

  13. It seems to me the Ingecon is more designed for your newer battery technologies like the lithium ion and Aquion batteries. Most of these are 48 V units, so you need only a few in series to get over 96 V.

  15. It's quite a while now that I look at the Ingecon Sun Storage 1 play 6kw as a hybrid inverter option. It does however have one or two drawbacks. You need to have a 96 V battery bank and the inveter cannot run without batteries like the Infini's. It also have only one MPPT compared to the two of most 5 kw inverters. I would also like to hear from someone who has got experience with the product. Where did you get your price from Hein?

  18. The spec sheet of the Vision matches that of the Infini 3 kw Plus almost perfectly. If it is reliable it will centainly give most members of Powerforum a new vision. Pitty it can not be paralleled.
  19. Seams to me the Infini V range is only an Axpert that can back-feed into the grid like a normal hybrid or grid-tie inverter. Has anyone got experience with the INGECON SUN STORAGE 1Play 6 kw Hybrid inverter from Ingeteam? It is made in Spain and seems to be more powerful than the Infini 5 kw with a lower price tag. They seem to be available in South Africa
  20. Except for the Powerstar's price tag (R60 000 +), I am confused by the spec sheet. Has it got a built in charge controller? I don't see any MPPT Voltage range. I also see it is transformer based. Is that good or bad?
  21. Thanks Mike for you informative reply. Feed through is properly not the right term. What I mean is that as I understand it, you can combine the PV input and the power from the grid with the Imeon to run a load of up to 6 kw while the inverter's output is only 3 kw. I understand you can do the same with the infini inverters but what about the Goodwe? Do you know if the knew Infini super 4 kw is available in SA? I like the fact that you can parallel it.
  22. After reading a lot of forums about all the different inverter options I still can't find the perfect solution for my circumstances. I have a family of 6, so we need quite a lot of electricity. I want to start off with a grid-tie option and want to progress to off-grid later on. Further I want to be able to expand in the future. It seems like every hybrid inverter has this one major shortcoming, for instance: Infini 3 kw Plus - to small Imeon 3 kw - fan problems (see a lot of specials on them lately, make you wonder why) Infini 5 kw - very expensive and potential fan problems axpert 5 kVA - not a true hybrid and cannot feed back to grid Goodwe 5 kw Hybrid - At this stage the most attractive option, only quite expensive and does not have the feed through ability that the Imeon and the Infini have (am I right here?) Then while surfing Voltronic's website I stumbled over the Infini Super 4 kw inverter. Looking at the specs it seems like the perfect fit for my requirements and it should be a whole lot cheaper than the 5 kw fan popping option http://www.voltronicpower.com/oCart2/files/brochure/InfiniSolar Super_DS.pdf Do anyone know if it will come to South Africa and maybe when? Unlike the Infini 3 kw you can parallel the 4 kw unit which gives you the option to expand to 8 kw or more. Would appreciate any comments.
  23. Hi Viceroy I am also planning a solar system and what you've done is exactly what I had in mind. Only, I want install a PV array of 6 kw, 3 kw per inverter. How is you inverter's MPPT performing, I mean how many KWh do harvest during this time of the year? One thing I noticed about the Axpert is that the maximum voltage of a PV string is only 115 V compared to 450 - 500 V for other hybrids. Does it mean more strings in parallel and how will it affect you cable thickness between PV array and inverter? I plan to put my inverter quite a distance from my panels and is concerned about the cable cost.
  24. Hi I'm new to solar and also planning a 5 kw hybrid system. Except from my house I also want to run a small irrigation system supplied by a 1.1 kw submercible pump from my system. Seems like the 5 kw infini inverter with maximum input capability of 7.5 kw panels is a perfect fit for my requirements. Just a few questions. Why is it that most inverter suppliers have proper websites and brand there products according to the company name while the infini inverter is like a non branded product that is sold under different names by different companies? Most inverters have a 5 year warranty, what is the warranty on an infini inverter? It is much cheaper than the European products, do you think it is reliable? I don't want to replace it every few years. Further I don't see many European hybrid inverters on the market, except the Imeon. I like to pay a bit more up front for a quality product but it seems that inverter technology develops so quickly now that it is better to go for a cheaper option since you are probably going to upgrade in 5 years time. I would like to hear your comments.
