what is the max wattage I can draw from 2 pylontech us5000c batteries in parallel
We have cookers in SA too 😂 On a serious note, the title clearly states US5000 and that is not the same battery as the UP5000. Two different batteries with different specs and the one in question is a 100Ah battery that is capable of supplying 80A without a sweat. You can draw 120A for the whole 15min, from this battery. Two of those in parallel will give you 160A @bony999 this is not 0.5c battery, it is actually a 1C battery

Replacing centurion D5 gate motor battery with Life P04 battery
Fitted BlueNova on my D5 in January and no issues at all. Its a direct drop in and never had to change my charger. No modifications needed

Wrong battery, the topic is about US5000 which has recommended charge/discharge of 80A. So if Op has two in parallel, he can discharge/charge at 160A with no issues

LUXPOWER SNA settings
Hi Guys, I need help with luxpower settings. I have recently installed 7 x Jinko 480w solar panels at my rental place and would like to charge the battery from solar only. Grid should only charge battery if it goes below 30% SoC and solar is not available. Grid should charge up to 60% SoC Also, I want to use the battery and discharge it before sun rise so that solar can charge it again during the day. Below is my current settings

Inverter: Degradation vs Blowout
Intentional and unintentional damage is covered by home contents insurance, check your policy wording and confirm. The go back and Just tell them it got blown when you mistakenly plugged a device in the USB ports and that the damage was not caused by power surge or degradation as they claim. The assessor saw that it was not damaged by power surge, that is why they reject your claim.

Pylontech Warranty refused by SegenSolar for overcharging.
1C is a nice to have, not really necessary IMHO. I'm not convinced that one needs to draw 100A from a battery. How long will a 5Kwh 1C battery last you if you draw 100A? less than an hour? and how long is loadshedding? Just because a Porsche 911 can do 300km/h, doesn't mean everyone will want to drive that fast. You will be more comfortable driving a VW Golf GTI at 160km/h. You will still have a smile on the face when you accelerate to that speed. My point is, if a battery can discharge at 1C, good for it. Will you discharge at 1C, that is the question and how often? people's needs differ, some are happy to discharge 10A or even less, for the duration of loadshedding. There is no racing there, while some want to race and discharge at 100A for god's sake I still don't know why one will want to do that😂

Pylontech Warranty refused by SegenSolar for overcharging.
Protecting the battery is the job of BMS, correct me if I'm wrong. I don't see why a user needs to match the 5kw inverter with 5kwh battery when he only needs to power few devices during power cut. If your load which needs to be backed up is only two 15W lights, a 115w TV and 65w laptop charger, why on earth will I spend a fortune on a 5kwh battery when a 2.4kwh will get me through 4 hours of loadshedding with ease? The blank statement of matching a battery to an inverter doesn't hold. You need to know your needs and if you meet your needs with a 2.4kwh or a 3.5kwh battery, go for it

The BMS is not supposed to turn the inverter off, it has nothing to do with the inverter. You got it very wrong here. The BMS is supposed to shut the battery off, not the inverter

Pylontech Warranty refused by SegenSolar for overcharging.
Is this a fact or an opinion? Why will one match a battery to an inverter if he only needs to power two lights during loadshedding?

Age of a panel
The client can purchase them today and you will still have that corrosion if the panels were stored in a container somewhere in the harbour for the last 10 years or so. It all depends on how long they were in storage and where. It looks like the damage is not bad, the panel can be fixed. As for the rust, you can try and clean/remove it but I wouldn't worry about if. Just my opinion

Gas Geyser to supplement Solar Hot water Geyser
Hi, this was the quote I got over two years ago when I installed mine. The installation included the gas hob which I supplied, you can negotiate a lower price. No complaints in the last two years and the 48kg last over 6 months, cooking and water heating.

Looking for an installer in Randburg area, Johannesburg
Their responsibilities lie with installing the panels, that is their scope of work. They did not supply the panels, they did not supply the inverter or anything else but the cabling and bits and bobs that goes with the mounting of panels. Theirs is to ensure they are properly mounted and cables ran to the inverter and charge accordingly. I do my installations myself but not easy sometimes as I'm always out of the country. If my tenant was not in a rush, the installation would wait for me to come home next month. Which might end up being the case in anyway, because I can see that the job is too small to be passing it to someone

I can't believe that the whole of Randburg doesn't have solar installers. Or maybe installing four panels is too small for installers to waste time on 😂

AC/DC Element, or Non-Essentials?
What most people fail to see is that everyone can heat up any element they want with excess PV. Hell! you can even heat up 4000w element with excess PV, but if you need hot water in the middle of winter at 05:00, then what? Let's make it more interesting, you have loadshedding at 00:00 and power doesn't come back after two hours as expected because of some funny reason. How is the 2000w standard heating element going to help you? If you have power, you will draw from the grid, which is ok, but if you have to rely on your battery? how long will you power that element before draining your batteries and still have a nice hot shower in the morning? will it be more cheaper to get more batteries? or PTC element
-
AC/DC Element, or Non-Essentials?
I bought mine directly from them, so they do sell directly to the public. Yep, connected to the same point where you connect your Inverter battery input/output on the Battery isolator

AC/DC Element, or Non-Essentials?
Leaning more and more towards installing water filtration system? I'm not sure if that will be any cheaper than just installing Geyserwise PTC element and get the flexibility of using both AC and DC to heat your water. I don't work for Geyserwise but in my honest opinion, it is always true when they say ''you get what you pay for'' . PTC element is very different from a normal element and plays well with my batteries. we are almost at the end of winter, my 48kg gas bottle which was bought beginning of February this year is still in use, that is six months later and no complaints about hot water from anyone in my house. Does it work? YES, would I have achieved the same with the normal heating element? Absolutely NO. Is it expensive? That is relative, in my view, it is worth every cent. Would I recommend it? Big YES with a smile 😁

Geyserwise element Vs Standard 2kw Element
- Geyserwise element Vs Standard 2kw Element
I use that to switch ON and OFF a contactor that breaks or make the DC connection. The power is taken directly from the fuse connector, on the inverter side of the connector.- Geyserwise element Vs Standard 2kw Element

Had mine since Feb 2021 and never had any issues. The best device ever, works like a charm. Pity they don't make one that switches DC - Geyserwise element Vs Standard 2kw Element
