  1. Ok. So looking at your battery and solar array size then it does make sense to utilise the grid charge on bad solar days. Hopefully the savings will add up quickly so you can add more panels. Max your panels first before adding more batteries. Savings will come from generating your own electricity.
  2. Ouch Why do you then want to charge from the grid? I manually set the grid charge but only if its above stage 4 load shedding and solar did not manage to charge the batteries in time. The more you use from the grid, the longer it will take you to recover your costs. Just set your max discharge to 40% but its really a waste to charge from the grid unless its an emergency and you not going to have enough battery when load shedding hits you. I only did this once this year.
  3. Did you decide to hook them up to the newer models?
  4. 1. You need to insert dummy lines as you can't delete or have blank lines. 2. It's the SOC at which point it will stop using batteries. The timer has 2 functions. It's the SOC at which point the batteries will stop being used so if its set to 80%, batteries will only be used during that time until the SOC is reached. If grid charge or gen charge is ticked, it becomes the target point for grid or gen charge to stop if you have it ticked and set at 100% it will start charging from grid at that time and stop at the set SOC.
  5. Do you know what the sunsynk will do with the excess pv. My initial install only had 8kw of pv but I added more a couple of months ago taking it to 10.4kw of solar panels. It's winter so I don't get close to the 7kw during peak pv production. What will happen in summer when the panels are pushing out 10kw? Will it simply clip it to 8kw to supply the loads of charge the batteries? Theoretically you could have over 9kw(22A*450v) of panels on each of the MPPTs of the 8kw sunsynk which is 18kw of solar panels.

Mine was a Solarman issue that Solarman resolved. The pv production for the missing day but all other data like consumption battery charge and discharge totals are missing. I used the app chat feature on Solarman Smart.

Thanks. Maybe a suggestion for them to look into activating it in a storage system as well. Having this alert will be useful considering our unique load shedding situation. Status of the grid connection is important whether in grid tied mode or running from solar or batteries.

No reply from them and I don't think they are interested in fixing this. @Leshensorry to tag you every time but you seem to get better response from sunsynk. There is an error code on the inverter if the grid is down. Can you find out why this code is not logged in the fault codes. What's the point of the F35 fault code of its not logged on the inverter fault screen. This could be very useful if it actually logged the grid going down.
  9. Sunsynk 5kw + 1 hubble Am2 5.5kw battery = ±R45k excluding installation. The sunsynk has multiple upgrade options should you want to expand at a later stage.
  10. I sourced mine from LRG Solar. There were some issues with the firmware but this only affected some configurations. My specific issue was the aux restarting Randfontein but I just moved all my loads to the inverter and I'm not using the aux. This has been fixed in a firmware update but I've not tested that yet. This has mostly been resolved with active support from sunsynk and firmware patches rolled out and updated by then remotely. No updates to be installed by end users.
  11. Very much aware of that. Still don't know what his orientation or azimuth is in order to rule out if the loss is within the expected winter decline. I use this app to look at potential pv production for the day. Free version is fine to do a spot check. Enter your location, inverter and pv start sizes and it gives you a fairly good indicator of what you can expect over the next few days based on your location and weather forecast. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.exigo.solcaster
  12. My panels are flat mounted and also going through my first winter. Summer clear day I would generate 60kwh compared to a clear winter day in getting 25kWh. This is with no shading on the panels. This is with 10.4kw of solar panels. Is the 15kwh your normal daily summer production? 35% drop from summer to winter is normal so I don't think the shading is causing as big an issue on your overall production.
  13. What I'm particular are you reading about the sunsynk that is concerning you? Going on 10 months now with my 8kw sunsynk and no issues. It just works and is very configurable with full comms with the pylontech bms.
  14. Just checked both the UP5000 and us3000c manual and they can be added to this bank making the UP5000/US3000C the master and thereby taking the limit to 16 even if you have the older US2000 in the bank.

That can work but you can also use the aux for the wind turbine. It would then have its own micro inverter and be ac coupled on the aux input. The sunsynk MPPT is then not needed.

Just the way they present the data and the UI but looking at what's happening it seems that Pro is more accurate with no missing data. I prefer the Solarman Smart and business apps though but I'll be sourcing them if they can't fix the missing data.
  17. Achmat replied to Johann1982's topic in Inverters
I logged a ticket and they are looking into it. Solarman Smart and business apps have missing data for yesterday. Solarman Pro and Solarman apps reporting all data. Definitely an issue on the Solarman side and not sunsynk or the inverter.
  18. Achmat replied to Johann1982's topic in Inverters
Yesterday's data seems to be completely missing from the monthly graph even though its there in the daily graph. First time this has happened. It shows zero production or consumption for yesterday. How did you get it resolved.
  19. Achmat replied to Johann1982's topic in Inverters
I have an issue with Solarman. The device data for last year is no longer available. Will log a ticket with Solarman.

  21. Achmat replied to Johann1982's topic in Inverters
No. Sunsynk mentioned that they are working on their own portal. This was a few months ago.
  22. Achmat replied to JohanG's topic in Inverters
Yes. Only on the web interface can you download historical data in csv format.
  23. Achmat replied to Johann1982's topic in Inverters
I'm sure you could cut a cellphone screen protector to replace the plastic that was there. I don't think the plastic was meant to last a long time and just for packaging protection and not long term use.
  24. Achmat replied to Johann1982's topic in Inverters
    Yes.
  25. You would see better production having differently orientated strings on separate MPPTs.
