  3. Hi Kobus have a look in the download section there is a Axpert Guide I wrote a year or so ago (it needs updating). With a 3.5kW Pylontech the max charging rate is 37A. Since the Axpert can only be set in graduation of 10A that limits you to 30A. So setting 2 and 11 should not be above 30A. Further the settings are exactly the same as the settings for US2000B below.

  5. You don't have to start that slogan ZESA is doing a pretty good job on its own. The last time I was in Zimbabwe I visited a farm just outside Marondera. The main 3 pole circuit breaker was faulty and was continuously tripping. As there was not a replacement available the solution proposed by the ZESA help desk was to open the door of the supply box and cut a medium length truncheon and keep the CB in the on position.
  6. 3 separate systems I would then have 3 separate Rpis . Data logging is a 24/7 business. If something were to go wrong I would want data in the period before the failure. I have 2 inverters running of 1 Pi but the two inverters are in parallel.

  8. Hi Chris WatchPower is not the greatset software. ICC is avilable as a Windows product of for a Raspberry Pi. I ran the Windows version for nearly two years but recently moved over to a headless RPi. This has the advante that you can still view your data on your MAC.

  11. Hi Marthinus Welcome Since you have 4 strings of batteries I would recommend you connect them to busbars and in turn connect the busbars to the inverter.
  12. Looking at you figures it looks like your inverter was designed around strings of 10 72 cell panels and a maximum of 2 strings per MPPT - roughly 6000W per inverter does that make sense? What does the datasheet say? With your available roof space you looking at a maximum of eighteen 72 cell panels - maybe only sixteen. With two inverters I would go with a single string of 8 or 9 panels per inverter.
  13. Unfortunately you do not include the X axis on the second graph so a bit difficult to interpret what is going on. The graph of battery consumption is typical with usage running at an average of 600W for 11 hours and another 2 hours at about 300W so 12 hours at 600W. Consumption is going to be 7.2kWh and another 2.4 kWh quiescent current for the 4 Axperts. I would guess you Pylontechs would be about 20% SOC by morning. The graph without a timeline I am using a bit of guesswork to interpret. Your batteries are charged by 10 but since you have a large daytime load you continue produce over 6000W - peaking at close to 9000W. I would look at battery voltage when you close up shop. Anything over 49V is fine leading me to think there may be a calibration problem with what is being reported. In the morning I wopuld expect a voltage of 48.3v - 48.5V something like that anything over 48.1V is acceptable with a nominal 500W load.

  15. Pylontechs are designed to be run in parallel. The BMS has been designed around this. The inverter you are wanting to use is fortunately approved for use with a Pylontech. With the BMS there is no need for a busbar as the BMS irons out imbalances. Your diagram is standard and reduces imbalances and the rest is managed by the BMS.
  16. Hmm .... nice earth spike. How is your BF sparkie going to rectify this? I ask as I have a similar setup to quote an I don't have the equipment to test a earth.
  17. I would look at which models there is Aussie firmware is available and decide from there. I think from the 5kW versions the 64V is a good bet.
  18. If I remember correctly setting 12 also is used to trigger the alarm. I don't have vanilla firmware so I cannot check. @Coulomb you have those facts at you fingertips. If you are using vanilla firmware you may have charging stop prematurely. @Coulomband @weber have collaborated and produced Aussie firmware that eliminates the charging bug. I do not know if they have firmware for your model of inverter.
  19. Tier 1 so unless you go to a specialist solar panel manufacturer like Gochermann you are getting top notch panels
  20. Jip copy of an Axpert. If you have to use a Synerji then an independent SCC like a Victron or EP Solar. A big Steca would cost as much as an Axpert. Are you committed to a Synerji? I just think it is not a very good piece of kit for a little more money you can get an Axpert which is not the world's best inverter but has many fans including myself.
  21. Synerji is an Axpert clone and I would not let it charge an expensive battery bank Lithium or otherwise. Its charging is just not good enough.
  22. G'day Mate You're correct in that the BMV is a fuel gauge and what you are trying to do with the various "end of charge settings" is get a more accurate 100% SOC. Quite often it will jump from 95% to 100% and although acceptable is not entirely accurate. If you battery bank's charge drops below the tail current and remains there for the period specified in Setting 4 it will go to 100%. If you play with Settings 3-5 (I did over several months) one can get the BMV to reflect the SOC accurately. One of you compatriots helped me in the early days check out the video he made for me.
  23. Sjoe - I suppose the only consolation is it would be worse without solar.
