  1. Thank you so much. Removing Accelerated 3-D Graphics and File Sharing worked. My only challenge now is am getting Com1 failure.
  2. I don't have access to a Windows machine and would greatly appreciate if anyone can help me and guide me on how to install pmbs tools within a Windows partition on a Mac. Am running VWMare Fusion Professional Version 8.5.10 (7527438) with Windows 7. Need to be able to get Freedom Won Techs to see issues with eTower 5kw battery going into fault mode when charging and then not charging or receiving a charge. When I try to run the *exe file I get an error message as per screenshot attached.
  3. Just need to get another eTower once funds permit and before winter so that am sitting at least on 200ah, well less 20% to try and cover for the extra cloudy days.
  4. Many thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately I’ve missed the boat, having gone for the Combo promo of Solis s6 6kw and Freedom Won eTower. No complaints regarding Freedom Won tech guys, save for initial teething problems with comms cable, which eventually got sorted.
  5. Great pricing indeed. My question to Magneto, End-users and Installers would be how good is the after-sales service experience. Having purchased from a different battery manufacturer recently am realising the HUGE value of having a great and competent backup and after-sales service team in case of cells not being balanced properly or other issues where installers may have missed some things including bad comms over CAN or RS485 or BMS issues. That said, this is a very attractive offering and when does the warranty begin, at system installation/commissioning or from date of product manufacture? Equally important is efficiency or speed to attend to issues as one may be left in the dark and if during diagnosis there's an offer for temporary replacement battery by manufacturer through their distributors, installers or retailers?
  6. My thought is slightly similar so, stand to be corrected. Let me use the analogy of a dam full of water: The water is your Pv and the Dam wall is your MPPT/MPPTs if there's more than one. If max VoC of inverter is exceeded the MPPTs capacity to hold back current will be compromised and hence the MPPTs will be damaged or the other parts of the inverter system, hence @TaliaB's recommendations to ensure quality workmanship and quality parts (MC-4) connectors. The water in the dam will push against the dam wall and the MPPT will always draw as much as it requires but undue force will result in disastrous consequences.
  7. Finally got the cable from Freedom Won and they connected to the battery and changed voltages on it and all seems ok on the battery side. Lost SoC from 100% to 0% in the afternoon but the system did not switch off. Unfortunately now trying to get Solis to sort me out with connectivity issues on the web and mobile app as I'm unable to login to inverter but can login to the datalogger and also the Pv info does not show on the Powerflow diagram. The transition from the 24v 3kva system to the 5kva system has been a frustrating one...
  8. These spikes are worse in inclement/rainy weather. Am frustrated. Can’t be nanny-coddling battery and Inverter every second surely.
  9. So my installer came by and we connected to Solis and they did a Firmware Update on the inverter, successfully. Then we had grid and battery then charged from 30% to 64% and went into Fault mode. Comms with battery not working and now battery won’t restart. Have tried resetting it multiple times without joy, including even removing battery terminals. It just goes straight into fault mode. 🤦🏽‍♂️😞😭 Now I have no grid and no battery backup option.
  10. No I haven’t tried that. Thanks for the heads up. Is Freedom Won support available via WhatsApp call. Am not in SA.
  11. Can anyone help find out why my battery just randomly drops off power and cuts supply to load as shown please. Pv production is bad and erratic as it’s an overcast day. Inverter is Solis s6 6kw. I’ve had to switch off my fridges so I can try and get my battery to charge as high and as much as possible before nightfall.

I definitely concur with @Sidewinder regarding supplying enough information. Also be mindful of how much space you may have and will possibly need for Solar Panels and this may include utilising Carports (as shown). Being a especially given that you mention a Butchery, are you going to have just a Cold Room or you'll also have a Blast freezer and the Blast Freezer requires quite a heavy power load. Which means you'll need to be mindful of the need to have a generator as redundancy during winter months or rainy season. So kindly give the Forumites more info.

What quantum would you call HV? That said, have you explored the SolaX inverters as well?
  14. Just saying your battery configuration is the problem doesn’t help sadly. Did the “solar guy” use any test meter to measure voltage or suggest a better configuration or he’s fishing for a job now? My take is your Panels don’t seem to be enough for your setup but unfortunately limitations on your inverter max VoC (145)may limit how many more panels you can add meaning you may have to get a different inverter which allows you to put more panels. Is grid, when available, able to fully charge your battery bank at least to 100% full? It would be good in the interim to also measure how much Pv your panels are outputting (with a test meter) and to know what configuration they are in.
  15. For me the major and important consideration would now revolve around your loads. What equipment will be running off that and do any of them have high in-rush draw and are you also able to manage fellow housemates to ensure you don’t strain lower rated options of batteries, though I get the feeling you’re quite drawn by this battery and it’s aesthetics as well. Also plan to have enough panels or maybe a backup generator to be able to charge up this battery in the winter months so you are not caught with overcast days. The other important consideration is, in your location, how quickly can you get product support for both Inverter and Battery should something go pear shape.
  16. Am getting the same issue with the Solis S6 6kw and FreedomWon eTower and the message is HighVolt BMS(332931). Battery goes into fault mode (red) and if there's load shedding, I lose power to my essential load. This is happening at 100% SoC. Can anyone help resolve this issue @Steve87?? To get battery to restart is a headache and can involve hours especially if pv is low, now that we have some rains and overcast days. Is it an inverter issue; comms from inverter to battery issue; or a FreedomWon eTower battery issue; or a Grid issue? This happened at 00:40hrs when my grid was showing 247-250v on my AVS reading. HELP PLEASE.
  17. @BillyBob to be honest solar as a rule, more so batteries can be quite the rabbit hole. What would happen if your battery packed up, would you have some money lying around to be able to immediately replace that size of battery? The other side of the coin is having multiple 5kw batteries such as FreedomWon or Pylontech and if one in the pack gives you issues you may be able to hobble along and reduce your loads whilst nursing the other remain batteries. Still again, there's the issues of ensuring that you have enough panels and your inverter has the capability to fully charge your batteries as well as ensuring that the individual cells in each battery pack get fully balanced regularly. 1. So to buy 1 x large battery bank or; 2. To buy several in a pack; is the question. Liquidity, ability to monitor the batteries will inevitably help you in your decision making process. Am sure others here with more experience, will chime in with their knowledge and expertise and experiences.
  18. @wolfandy you're right the max VoC is 145DC as per the sticker sent.
  19. Hi @Ninoevans on the side of your inverter there should be a sticker (data plate) can you share a photo of that sticker and advise send me a PM of where you are in Zim.
  20. Yes the CT is being used, just need to recheck my connections to ensure they are correct so I get correct readings. It's been quite the "rabbit hole" but as I proceed, I can see a light at the end of the tunnel, and NOT a train coming from the other side of that "said tunnel"😀 When you begin to have a system that gives you information to realise and will always want granular info for some things, hence the many questions and need to clarity. Granular in that I would be wanting to ensure there's no parasitic loads from the grid that are unaccounted for the system is performing to it's most efficient and that am also keeping loads in check whilst using a singular battery before I'm able to get an additional battery or two and that panels are also also delivering, more so now that we have overcast days. Eventually if I can be semi-off grid in terms of my loads, that's the goal but still have grid running as backup for winter and redundancy. One thing am not understanding is the 2-dips in SoC as highlighted, though I did not lose power on my backup load.
  21. I think I’ll have to revisit the CT. What I also discovered is if I switch off or lose Grid connection Pv and Load values do display as per short video attached. FullSizeRender.MOV
  22. Panels are a bit pricey though.
  23. Wow, great prices.
  24. Great @TaliaB, touch wood i get sorted and I come right. Presently am connecting as “Owner”, not installer… let’s see how things go. Lost grid and am finding something interesting. Pv, Battery & load info is there but no Grid total imported info.
