Sunsynk 5kw alarm won't switch off

Does anyone know if I can turn the battery off, I’m lucky if my battery gets up to 30% charge during the last week, the weather is so Grey….

it seems to be drawing current from the grid to keep topping it up and I’m not convinced that it is worth doing while the weather is so overcast.

Yes you should be able to turn the battery off and just run the house off panels and the grid.

Edit: In your market would it not make sense to charge the battery to say 50% from the grid at low cost rates to give you some cover in case of an outage? Then you can just keep it at that % SOC

We rarely get outages here, if we do it is momentarily. I’m going to turn it off and turn it back on when we have our next sunny day, perhaps I can get it fully charged and see how it goes.

I’ve just switched companies to get cheap energy between 0030 and 0430 to top up my car each night, the charger gives 28 kw in that period @ 12p per kw. That provides 100 miles for about £3.  Are you saying I should be able to top my battery then too?

Yes, I'm sure that's what @mzezman meant, but also, not, it is not a good idea to leave Lithium batteries in a depleted state, the normal recommendation is to get the battery to 50% state of charge and then you can store them for longer term, if you do not want to use them.

They should not be kept discharged or fully charged if they won't be cycled.

I'm having similar problems. Only installed 2 days ago and it's been drawing from the grid to top it up and  the alarm has gone off tonight. 11pm and not impressed!

Hi,

I had solar panels fitted today, all was well until this evening when the Sunsynk inverter started beeping. There are no red lights on the inverter or the battery. I've managed to silence the alarm by going into the settings. I can't get hold of the company who installed the system as it's the weekend.

Any thoughts on why the inverter started beeping? I'm completely new to this but keen to learn.

In the settings there should be a screen that list the latest error codes. What does it report?

Thanks for your help.

It shows: Alarms code ID:2207112494 occurred

Errors are reported with codes such as: F56 DC busbar voltage is too low and a timestamp

Hope I'm looking in the right place, the image below shows what I see under fault codes. The alarm is still sounding if I turn the beeper back on.

Guten Tag,

If your battery is very low. Check in your battery settings (Settings - that little gear icon / Battery / Shutdown) - the battery alarm value. My alarm setting is: 30 % and the shutdown setting is: 10 %. So at 30 % it starts beeping. When the battery recharges and goes above 30 % the beeping stops. If my battery reaches 10% the inverter cuts out.
