May 31, 20179 yr Hi @PeterGutti, I have the same problem with my ICC not connecting to the Pi USB port. I don't believe the problem is with ICC but rather with the USB connection between the Axpert and the Pi. At times merely unplugging the USB cable from the Pi and plugging it in again restored the connection. This requires me to walk down to the ground floor garage from the first floor of the house which is too tedious. So nowadays I just restart the Pi until ICC registers the connection. Usually this happens after one or sometimes two restarts. Perhaps you would try to see if that works for you.

I powered each Inverter off, but not a the same time, not to get a power outage in the house. Restarted ICC and the pi. No luck! What confuses me is the status: The blue field does not contain any text. Normally it says "Battery Mode". The button to change the mode says "Change to Battery". This would mean that inverter reports it is in "Grid mode"! No? When pushing that button and confirm to switch to battery mode, nothing happens! Whats wrong with that bl....y inverter? @Manie What does it mean when the blue field does not contain a status information? This behavour started a few days ago, after i moved pi to a cooler location. Also the USB communication is down (may be the primary error?)
June 4, 20179 yr @PeterGutti try plugging the USB cable into a different port on the Pi. That has worked for me in the past. Otherwise send Manie an email to [email protected]. He has not posted on the forum lately. If all else fails perhaps reloading the ICC image on the Pi SD card as well as the ICC software may help, but only as a last resort. Good luck with getting it going again.
June 4, 20179 yr Hi all. I've just blown the dust off my rpi and connected it to my living room tv (sourced some relay boards so want to start playing)The thing is after i connected it to my tv via hdmi and powered it up, the red light went on and the green flashes about once a second.......but no display. It's an rpi3 board with oem rpi power supply. It worked fine after i switched it off the last time, about 4 months ago.Any ideas what could be the problem? I'm fearing the worst obviously[emoji31] Sent from my S60 using Tapatalk
June 6, 20179 yr Hi Guys I have 3xAxpert 5k in parallel mode, will ICC work via USB also can you set the mode to the time of day. i.e during the day SBU and then at night Utility? Is trial software available on the Pi? Cheers Mark
August 4, 20178 yr @Manie Didn't you send me a link to a downloadable program that is able to communicate with both i/f, COM and USB? I thinks its an early version of ICC. Today i get a new USB port. With this program i would be able to test it. Thanks.
December 28, 20178 yr Hi I have two 5kva Axpert inverters connected to two of my three phases at home. They are set up as two single inverters (they are not coupled) with two separate PV panel sets but one common battery bank. I have used the ICC software on one of the inverters and it works really well. However I am struggling to get the ICC software showing both my Axpert inverters. Any thoughts?

I think a single instance of ICC will only show both inverters if there are connected in parallel. If you want to use ICC on the other inverter in your current setup, make a copy of the entire application including the database and use a seperate cable to the other inverter. Ensure com ports on Windows/Pi are different for each inverter. Ever consider coupling the inverters together? You are afterall using the same battery bank. Instructions below as per the manual. Then a single ICC application will see both inverters using a single cable.
January 9, 20188 yr Thanks Both my inverters run to a single PI, which I then view on my PC. What do you mean with coupling the inverters together?

Hi I was hoping to view both inverters without the parallel cards since I do not have them installed at this stage. The inverters are running very well since they are on separate phases. January 26, 20188 yr Please report if version 2.2.8 send corect value of time to go - hour -to emoncms. Mine send first 2 digits. If time to go is 140 hours, value sent to emoncms is 14 and minutes 00. Rest is fine. Works perfect!

Your PC needs to have an RS232 port. Else you need a USB to RS232 cable combo. Do not use USB and RS232 at the same time. I've done that and got big numbers on EMON. One at a time!.If the RS232 is OK, and is seems the USB is kaput, then the new ICC ver 2 (now @ 2.0.7) has a new setting where you can choose either USB or Serial. I have not seen these boards other than the parallel one for sale. Not that I have been looking 🙂 @PeterGuttidid you manage to get this sorted out and if so, how? Having a similar problem with new Axpert max II, the usb seems to be flaky, just stops comms to the pi (solar assistant). Restarting the pi doesn't solve it, neither does changing usb ports. Connecting another one of the inverters immediately brings up the comms, (but the inverter with BMS comms doesn't work if reconnected). The only thing that solves it is a complete restart of the inverter. This has happened a few times, sometimes lasts a month, sometimes a few days before comms cut off. Going to try the rs232 to usb cable and see if that sorts out the problem.
