VIZIA power plugs currently can be tasmotised, not too sure about that geyser one as many of the new vizia devices come with the new tuya chips :(
Maybe try ask takealot if it has the espressif chips or tuya chips, sometimes they will give the answer sometimes not :(

Also note that VIZIA one is only a 16amp relay, I personally would not trust that low amp rating for the geyser, you would then be better off getting a sonoff POWR3(25Amp) that's what I use for my geyser and it's at a better price.

I have replaced the element in my 2nd geyser with a 2kW one and control it through a Sonoff Origin 316 (16A), which is significantly cheaper than the POWR3. There is also a 20A version of the Origin

Yes for a smaller kw element then you probably safe going with lower amp ratings, I just did not want to change my element as that would increase the heating time quite a bit, I only use solar to "charge" my geyser so the quicker it "charges" the better :) in my use scenario anyway :)

Will check it out during the week, if that works it will open up my list of usable devices.
I have a bneta smart power meter plug running latest tuya chip with the "unhackable wifi" so will sacrifice that one to test :)
It's just gathering dust due to not being tasmotisable.

I am in the market for some additional Tasmota devices (specifically power measurement smart plugs).

Has anybody recently tried to "Tasmotize" any of these new Tuya devices?  Does the Takealot VIZIA Smart WiFi Power Plug Switch still work?

Last purchase Ordered 3 Aug 2023 still tasmotizable...
I think this may be the last batch of the safe ones.

I have ordered these and managed to flash Tasmota, but neither the relay nor the power measurement works.  I suspect that the Template I used (Vizia 16A Power Monitoring Plug Configuration for Tasmota (blakadder.com)) must be wrong, which is odd as the board is dated 2018-12-07.

Do you have access to a working one?  If so, please could you let me have the template string that you are using?

Thanks

Finally got around to setting up the new gadgets :)

Trying out Home Assistant for the 1st time in over 3 years, must say, they have done a good job on making it more user friendly, now at last I can try out the Sunsynk flows. And all my sensors and smart switches and power meters.
Needed some tweaking to make it work with all my sensors, so far working ok :)

Looking good so far.
HomeAssistant picked up ALL my tasmotized devices automatically. No need to configure anything in yaml's
That was the easiest setup ever 😁 and creating customised entities was a breeze.
3 years ago with HA I gave up trying to get all my devices and their entities loaded.

Hey @WannabeSolarSparky,

How about sharing some pictures of your new DB and after "tidy up" project?

This is what we have been busy with over the December period, a "Smart" borehole using Tasmotised CBi Astute isolators 🙂. Of course all managed with Home Assistant. The Energy Dash in HA is fantastic!

As a side note, the CBi isolators are fantastic in front of a geyser and give you all the power information you need.

Still awaiting 2 nvme drives to add to the pi5 nvme dual hat. Then I can put it into the db for photoshoot 😁
Here is the main db with the tasmotized SPM modules that feed data to the home assistant sunsynk flows on the essentials side.

So this is evolving quite quickly into my new favorite tool for managing everything :)

Remember to like and subscribe on the video if you want to see all the weird gadgety/coding things I get up to when I am bored.

Shout out to @kellerza @Sc00bs @slipx and everyone else contributing to make all these things work nicely with my gadgets and solar stuff.

Still need to learn how the coding on esphome works, currently the fan rpm's are a bit wonky, but that may also be my "great soldering skills" with the resistor on the speed sensor of the fan 🤣
At least I have figured out how to setup the automation to adjust the fan speeds based on the temperature readings :)
