Thanks @Rosh for the suggestions. Really appreciate it

I've read some other forum that stated the BMS is what guides the inverter on what and how to handle the battery. So not really sure if there is a solution to be honest. Hi, I have the same issue. The batteries charge to 100% by 11AM, and then discharges to 90% without using PV power. Cycles like this until the sun goes down. Time of use settings have no effect at all. I am busy with CFE to resolve - they are apparently working on new firmware that will only let the batteries discharge to 95% (Apparently the current charge/discharge setup is to protect the battery life....)

January 13, 20233 yr Hello, I'm calling from Italy, I have a problem with the storage batteries. I have a growatt sfh 5000 inverter and CFE 5100 batteries. The batteries cannot hold the voltage and therefore shut down. ever happened to anyone? The system is new, everything went well for a month and then it's under the problem.

I'm using a DEYE inverter and it charges to 100% a few times during the day, but in the afternoon it charges to 100% and I guess there isn't much load and the batteries go into a fault mode and make a clicking noise. I've tried downloading the apk and registering - i scan the barcode and it takes me to the add inverter and details page, which i fill out but then it throws a profile creation error when submitting... sigh...

Hey Deon, have you been able to successfully install the CF Energy app on android and register? If so what link/version did you use - can't get the blinking thing working...

I updated the voltages but still having that issue where the battery drops from 100% to 94% and then starts charging again. From the sounds of it, it's the BMS and it's not anything that we can configure on the inverter. With regards to the battery going to fault mode when reaching 100%, I had the same issue when I first got the batteries. I solved it by discharging the battery to very close to 10% and then recharging it back to 100%. Ever since then I've never experienced that again
January 16, 20233 yr Hi all. I can't see BMS info on inverter. it's just blank. Deye 8kw inverter and 3 x CFE 5.12kwh. Also should the - pole of last slave battery run to inverter - and + from master to inverter +? I am under the impression this is only for series connection? currently + and - go to inverter from master battery.
January 17, 20233 yr My 2 x CFE-5100s keep discharging to 90% then charging again. Its not a train smash but I'd prefer if they just stayed at 100% I installed the BESS app off google play store on an android device I have and I managed to connect my 2 batteries. However I dont see a firmware update available for the batteries Edited January 17, 20233 yr by Zkrige

It would charge to 100% then pv would drop off and load would pull from battery till it got to 90% then it would kick back in again charging... Was resolved by a Deye inverter firmware update (from the installer). So my issue isn't that it goes to fault mode when it hits 100% - when it charges to 100% in the PM and I don't have any load and the pv still able to generate, then the batteries throw a fault after about 30 minutes or so (typically if i leave it between 4pm and 5pm never in the morning charge and usage) - if i generate some load between 4pm and 5pm then it is fine and stays around 100% gets used a little then back to 100% etc... Apparently the installer doing a round of CFE firmware updates on saturday so hopefully that resolves it...

Need the CFE Energy app which seems much better but only on android (although i can't get that working either lol)

If so, that's an inverter issue I had as well with my Deye, an upgrade of firmware resolved it.

January 23, 20233 yr Did you folks have any joy here? I have 4 x cfe5100s batteries linked up, and 2 x deye 8kw inverters in parallel. home assistant + solar man plugin shows that every day i'm charging the batteries more than what im pulling out of them. That makes no sense at all - surely what's put into the batteries should be more or less what's pulled out (excl inefficiencies) I'm curious to know if an inverter and battery firmware update is going to solve this (and the fact that my batteries seem to vaccilate between 90% and 100% all day) Edited January 23, 20233 yr by Zkrige

January 25, 20233 yr Hi Does anyone know if there is a fault on the smart bess app. From yesterday its failing to show my battery. Wifi is on and battery added but thats it. Did reset and reinstalled and everything i can think of.

Still goes back and forth after being charged full. The CFE support guys said the Deye Inverter Firmware needs to be updated and this might solve the problem. So waiting for the update and will see if that solves the problem. Will keep you guys updated
