November 21, 20223 yr Hi, Has anyone used this Super Cap? Are there any videos on them, do you know if they are locally manufactured? Thanks.
November 28, 20223 yr I have not heard about this brand There are no supercaps that can compete with Lithium batteries on the market. I have seen a teardown of another "supercap" and it was 18650s cells, basically a scam

November 28, 20223 yr I haven't been able to talk to specialist about the units...but I was under the impression that they were graphene units (not Li). I was also very interested in learning more about them. I believe I had tracked down the Chinese OEM for them...(but haven't been able to verify since retail staff aren't very clued up on it) https://www.greenteche.com
December 6, 20223 yr yup, seen this from a few years back. but that one never claimed to be graphene, etc. But this is definitely the most damning piece of content against their claims. I've resent for further info from Magneto about this. Hopefully, they can come right, or provide a reference from any installation they have done of them.
January 13, 20233 yr The 100A discharge limit on the 5kWh model and 200A limit on the 15kWh is suspiciously low for a super cap. I'd like to know what the reason is for this.
March 16, 20233 yr I see they are for sale on the Power Forum Store. Anyone bought one of these? Any feedback?
March 17, 20233 yr The specs do look good and with the claimed cycles/lifetime it makes the price attractive - MAGNETO-SUPERCAP-RACK-MOUNT-BROCHURE-v3-vis.pdf - Google Drive PS don't be confused, LOL, the brochure has a mistake. Shift down the rows in the 1st column 😀
March 17, 20233 yr yup..I remember looking into these in the past...and I couldn't find ANYONE that could tell me anything about them....so... please find someone to talk to to confirm these actually can do what they claim. and then let us know what you find out. I went to the store....I did followup emails... I tried to get an engineer to reach out... NADA. so I ended up going the Fox-ess route with High voltage batteries instead (very happy). at least I was able to get a few references on that. Edited March 17, 20233 yr by uelsimon

The energy density is much too high - even ignoring the fact that what is achieved in the articles won't be commercially viable for many years... It appears that these are sold as supercaps on alibaba, and simply white-labeled and resold here. I would stick to LiFePO batteries. August 16, 20232 yr 16850 is only a form factor used in the industry for standardisation with numerous variants and ripe eve nicads have the same, other even have internal protection circuitry
