Kodak Range

Hi

I have 2 new Kodak FL5.2 batteries connected to a Kodak 7.2 Max Inverter. They connected correctly per the manual (and same set up as I had before with older but identical batteries) but the one battery (the slave) is not charging or discharging but is stuck at 80% full (4/5 lights green). The result is only the master is used and I effectively have the second battery going to waste. If I turn off the master battery, the slave turns off so this implies they connected and sort of talking to each other.

Is there some way the batteries need to be synced or commissioned or why isn't the second battery not being used?

Thanks

Have a question about the 5kW KING inverter

When the unit is running from the mains, is the output limited to 5KW?

A unit has location 01 set to SUb

Location 23 is set to byE

Should it supply unlimited Mains power or not?

Thanks

Yes, there is 2 reasons for that :

(a) the machines power routing path (wires, connectors, internal thermal breaker, pcb tracks, relays) are rated for 5kW

(b) the DC-AC and DC-DC converters are rated at 5kW, so even if condition (a) would allow higher rating on bypass, will the system fail when grid falls away and will go into overload protect

So you will have to ensure that the output load is within 5kw margin, although bare in mind the system may entertain higher surges for a couple of seconds. This rating is in your machines specification in the user manual.

@SEGEN SOLAR  my question is regarding the Kodak OG6.2 Plus

it is described as an inverter with dual/twin outputs.

i cant seem to find any information as to how many kw can each output take?

I have the inverter and it does not appear to be limited per "output".

I will however say that switching of the 2nd output (non-essential) does not work (switching according to time/SOC) as advertised. Busy trying to get some help from @SEGEN SOLAR at the moment

@Flouw,

You are correct the Kodak OG6.2 does have 2 x Outputs. One for essential and one for non essential loads.

The capability is basically 6.2 kW on either of them at anyone time or 6.2kW split proportionately at any given moment.

So as long as you are not drawing more than a total of 6.2 kW at any given time through the inverter you are safe.

You can however draw the full 6.2 kW through one output - as long as there is no draw at all from the secondary.

I hope this answers your question.

Nick

Thank you for the clarification.

Next question. Does the fans run constantly? Are they loud? Does the unit emit a permant buzz like the voltronic VM models? Or is this a MKS model with proper fan algorithm. With fans switching off on low currents?

Any chance you can assist me with my queries with the same inverter sourced from yourselves:

I can confirm that the fans run constantly and never turn off. I would not consider them loud until you're pushing around >2k watts through it and perhaps charging the batteries simultaneously.

You would definitely want it far from a lounge/bedroom area. I have mine in the garage which separated from my lounge by the firewall. I barely hear it.

You do indeed get the electrical buzz, but next to the fan noise it is the lesser of the noise concerns. If you like I can record it.
