June 3, 20233 yr Hi all, New to this. I just recently purchased a new Svolt 5.09Kwh 48v 106ah Wall Mounted Battery and was going to purchase the Luxpower LXP Hybrid 5K Inverter. I sent them an email to see if it’s possible to get it compatible with a cable modification or something else and was given a few words about what’s possible. You can leave it as lead acid mode and limit charge voltage and floating voltage according to battery manual. Which doesn’t sound like a good option for me, so my main question here is what other hybrid inverter (reasonably priced) that I can look at that will be compatible. I’m preferably looking for IP65 (higher humidity is the main reason), I’m less than one kilometer from the coast, but it’ll be in the garage out of weathering conditions. Wifi/GPRS Internet access. Something similar to what I already was looking for, hybrid-backup for the load-shedding . I would appreciate all the help, thanks. Regards
June 3, 20233 yr Author OK thanks. Well I will only find out next week, as that's when I receive the battery. I suspect that Luxpower are stating to me that the battery can only be connectd to the inverter as if it were a Lead/Acid without the BMS communicating with the inverter.
June 6, 20233 yr Please keep us updated on what you find out, I got the 24V 106Ah SVolt and looking into for a compatible inverter
June 26, 20233 yr I asked on a other platform and got these answers, please test and let me know as i also looking at Svolt, these comments was on SNA but maybe will help? Anyone used the s volt battery with luxpower SNA? With communications working? What option/setting? Cable pinouts? type battery 12, use RJ45ethernet cable on Can open ports wired 1-1 do not wire pin7 and 8 use 485 cables for slave batteries A-A and B-B Brand 12 Dip 1 on Edited June 26, 20233 yr by jlr
June 29, 20233 yr Author Thanks correct, I've checked my manual for the SVolt battery and those are the CAN bus pin-outs. 1. Does this mean that I can pair with a LuxPower 5KWh Inverter on BMS level? Although, I know from reading else where, the SVolt has been able to communicate with Victron, SunSynk, Deye, Growatt, INVT and Mega Revo on BMS CAN with that pin-out Configuration.
June 30, 20233 yr Author I've purchased the VICTRON MULTIPLUS-II 48/5000/70-50, Victron Lynx Distributor and the VICTRON CERBO GX.
June 30, 20233 yr Author This battery has been tested with the following. inverters. Does it also work with SVolt 5.09Kwh 106ah batteries? I’m asking, because if you would know if it communicates with Victron, Sunsynk, INVT, Mega Revo, Deye, Growatt and a few more. Its sends CCl, DCl and charge voltage correctly like the CHINT 106ah battery? Do you also work with SVolt 5.09Kwh 106ah batteries? I received mine unit 2 days ago. Haven’t tested comms yet. Got all those inverters except Deye in my Test/Training room, just need to move the battery from inverter to inverter. Its a bit disappointing that they moved a batch of 15cell into the market though they have 16cells available. The one they have available now is 48volt 15Cell, I am after the 51.2volt 16Cell. replied back. Coms tested on DCL, CCl and charge voltage on Victron, Sunsynk, Mega Revo, INvt. Working as expected. So the SVolt 5.09Kwh 106ah works on BMS with all the listed inverters above (bar the Deye was'nt tested, but will work I'm sure). Edited June 30, 20233 yr by Solar Journey
September 10, 20232 yr Svolt batteries should work with Luxpower when set to Brand 6. If not, then best would be to reach out toe Svolt for support - they may need to make some changes to the BMS.
September 11, 20232 yr I have recently also installed the Svolt batteries and they work well with the Sunsynk Inverter. Coms work well between the batteries and inverter. I am very happy with their performance for the price I paid. They deliver the same value for something that would have cost me double the price! I used the extra savings and bought the sexy SunSynk 🙂 Edited September 11, 20232 yr by Jitz Addtional info added
September 18, 20232 yr Svolt batteries should work with Luxpower when set to Brand 6. If not, then best would be to reach out toe Svolt for support - they may need to make some changes to the BMS. So I need to update this statement. If the BMS on the Svolt battery is on its default setting (in most cases) then it would be Brand 2 on the Luxpower inverter (Pylon). If Svolt have changed the BMS settings on the battery to Luxpower then it would be Brand 6 on the Luxpower inverter. DIP switch on the battery should be 1 on (up) then 2, 3 & 4 off (down). I made the mistake of having all of them off (down) and then comms was not working initially.
October 8, 20232 yr Ok, my inverters has only rs232 comms, would i then be able to connect then to the svolt batteries? It is Axpert 5kw inverters. I use the usb to connect to ICM.
October 13, 20232 yr Also bought a SVOLT, and struggling to wrap my head around how to connect it to my Lalela LAL-5200 PRO-MPPT Inverter. (Not connecting the Positive and Negative terminals, I'm talking about the RS Network Cables...)
October 13, 20232 yr By default the Svolt batteries are set to the Pylon protocol, so if your inverter is compatible with Pytlontech batteries then try that setting and see if it works. Can try the RS485 and CAN port on the battery (depending on your inverter). Otherwise best would be to reach out to your installer if they are useless then reach out to Svolt support (ideally your installer should reach out to Svolt support for you). There are lots of options with these Svolt batteries, the BMS has a dropdown list with a looot of options in terms of protocols for inverter compatability.

(Not connecting the Positive and Negative terminals, I'm talking about the RS Network Cables...) Hi. I worked through their manual and it is does mention some coms info, but its limited. It seems you have to select LI on menu 14 and then on menu 41 test each of the increments from 0 to 31 until you can find the one that communicates with the battery. It would have helped if the manual did have more info on the communication protocols of the 0 to 31 options. As @PsyCLown suggested, you would need to figure out, which of the 0 to 31 options is similar to Pylon communications. Happy hunting as you have to reboot after each option is selected to test it. Also try setting the battery dip switch to 1 to give it an ID. Edited October 22, 20232 yr by Jitz
November 16, 20232 yr Does anyone perhaps know where to buy rs232 db9 female to rj11 cable. We bought the svolt 48v, in the manual it shows the rs232 cable supplied along with power cables, but the rs232 cable is missing. Electroman could not help me with the cable. Or maybe the pinout of the db9 to rj11? I am interested in using pbmstools for monitoring and maybe reset the bat. parameters.
January 7, 20242 yr hi guys was recently thinking of installing a small 3kva inverter alongside with the svolt 24v 106 ah li any recommendations on a 3kva inverter that would communicate with the battery ?
April 8, 20242 yr The Svolt works with the lux inverters, I have lux and 3 Svolt (106) batteries, work perfectly, diagram for single and multiples.

April 2, 20251 yr Hi Guys,Someone posted a wiring diagram of a rj11 to a rs232 plug, for Pace BMS Monitoring,For the life of me I cannot find it again, Please pass on if you have itMuch appreciated
April 24Apr 24 I have a problem with my svolt battery, it works fine with luxpower inverter when connected to r485 but when I try CAN the alarm led blinks and inverter doesn't charge
