December 30, 20187 yr Hi All, I need help please. I bought a Axpert 5kva inverter, with 2 Pylon tech 2,4kwh batteries and run 6 panels on my farm. The solar starts charging in the morning and then disconnects the PV panels the moment the batteries are charged, sometimes as early as 11am. From there the farm runs on battery power for the day, meaning the system runs out of power in the night somewhere and shuts down because the batteries were not fully charged going into the evening. Why does it do this? How can I fix this? 2nd question, with the Pylontechs, can I link the 2,4 kw batteries with the newer 3kw versions in the same stack? I would appreciate all advice. Edited December 30, 20187 yr by JohanO Finger problems, was not finished yet.

December 30, 20187 yr Author @Jaco de Jongh That is great news, the new 3kw offer a bit more freedom at a relatively good price. Thank you for the feedback Edited December 30, 20187 yr by JohanO

December 30, 20187 yr Author Thank You for the feedback , I have entered those settings. Only question I have, on setting 2 it only gives options for 10, 20, 30 A etc.... It will only run in increments of 10a?

December 30, 20187 yr Author @Javi Martínez Thank you so. Much. I have changed the parameters accordingly. Really appreciate it a lot.

December 30, 20187 yr Author It now gives an error code 04, battery voltage too low, however batteries are at 5 lights, almost fully charged?

What´s the voltage that appears for battery in axpert monitor? And, what about the size of wires? Edited December 30, 20187 yr by Javi Martínez

December 30, 20187 yr If parameter 29 is set to 47.5 V, it shouldnt beep till 49.5 V. @Chris Hobson, what´s happening??
December 30, 20187 yr Well, it is only a warning, when battery voltage is lower than what is set in 29 parameter + 2 V. I wouldn´t worry for the warning, but if it is a sunny day, you should have more charged batteries.
December 30, 20187 yr Author Currently on 6 panels. Consumption is 269 w Only fridge and a couple of led lights
December 30, 20187 yr Author Yes I agree, I need to buys at least 3 more panels and a pylon 3kw battery this week, any suggestions as to where?

If I remember correctly setting 12 also is used to trigger the alarm. I don't have vanilla firmware so I cannot check. @Coulomb you have those facts at you fingertips. 19 hours ago, JohanO said: The solar starts charging in the morning and then disconnects the PV panels the moment the batteries are charged, sometimes as early as 11am If you are using vanilla firmware you may have charging stop prematurely. @Coulomband @weber have collaborated and produced Aussie firmware that eliminates the charging bug. I do not know if they have firmware for your model of inverter.
December 31, 20187 yr On 2018/12/30 at 9:21 PM, JohanO said: I bought a Axpert 5kva inverter It would be really helpful if people would give the real power of their inverter, since there are two different models with a 5 kVA rating: the older models are rated at 4 kW (PF0.8), and newer ones at 5 kW (PF1). Especially in South Africa, where people don't tend to buy through MPP Solar and hence often don't get the 64 V option, it's important to know this, since it's now possible to brick a new inverter when attempting to update the firmware. [ Edit: while that's good for identifying the most important parameter, I now recommend posting the main firmware revision, when asking whether or to what version it can be updated to; see this post. ] So please: is it 4 kW (PF 0.8) or 5 kW (PF1)? If 5 kW, does it have the 64 V option? The 5 kW model without the 64 V option is becoming common, and these are the ones for which there is no firmware available, patched or official/factory, and these are the ones that it's possible to brick.
