SEMS Portal

just had another idea why SEMS portal reports your station as offline because it happened to me. My inverter is to far from the router so I had to put a wi-fi extender in the middle. The wi-fi extender is on a plug not connected to the back up system. During load shedding my extender is down and the inverter loses contact with the router.

Hi all

First post here...

Has anyone experienced issues with SEMS where the system goes online and logs data after a wifi reset for a few hours then goes offline again?

All comms seem fine, i can ping the sems portal from the network and the wifi LED is stable. Can it be a firmware issue?

I have received the below mail from Goodwe. Maybe it has something to do with your problem. I have not experienced any problems so far.

Dear Sir/Madam,

The version of SEMS Portal APP on Google Play and Apple App Store has been upgraded since June 10th.

If SEMS Portal APP on your Android phone cannot work, please uninstall it at first, then restart your phone and install it once again in Google Play.

If it still doesnt work, please contact [email protected]

Sorry for the troubles caused!

SEMS Portal stopped displaying data at 12pm yesterday for me and says GoodWe inverter is offline. PV Master shows everything  still in order and it is connected to the internet.

Apparently there is a patch that sorts out the intermittent disconnects, I have someone coming around today to help sort it out...

Hi All,

My installer completed the installation this week but the entire time I've been having MAJOR issues with EZManage, PV Master and SEMS portal. First issue is definitely wifi reliability. My wifi router is a bit far away (not that much I have smart switches in my garage that work fine but granted they send less traffic). I had to bring a wifi extended closer else the EZ manage App does not connect. PV Master NEVER connects, neither to the inverter's wifi or my wifi. Weirdly my installer used that app the entire time. Might be phone incompatibility but I have a good phone.

Re, the SEMS portal. Not until I connected to the wifi extended did the portal start working. But, it just stops working twice a day. The EZ Manage app *sometimes* keeps working while the portal shows my plant as offline. Have to constantly reboot the inverter to get data. Then it works for a few hours and down again. I rebooted this morning and now I have it showing as generating but nothing on the graph.

Honestly this SEMS portal and EZ manage app is the WORST applications I have ever used in all my years of IT. There's even typos in the web portal the write "panles" for panels. I'm really disappointed in how bad this app is, the only reason I got the GoodWe is because of "how amazing the app is".

I'm going to try contact the email addresses you all listed here but it concerns me that so many of us are having this issue. Seems like a dud.

Any news on your problem. I currently have a client that I have supplied the hardware to, sitting with the same issue.

I can confirm that the patch (08) I installed sorts out the WIFI disconnect issue. My firmware is now listed as 151508.

My client also did the upgrade himself. Everything worked fine for almost 3 days,  and now it disconnects every 20 or so hours. are yours still working at this moment?

Still working 100%, zero disconnects.

Can even connect to the inverter using PV Master via my home WIFI connection and not via connecting directly to the GoodWe's AP.

The inverter connects to your home wifi router, and through that it uploads to the portal. You can view data remotely, but can't do any configuration.

There seem to be two steps to this
1) Your inverter must be registered on SEMS. I have no idea how this is done (my installer did it).
2) You connect your inverter to the home internet connection. Instructions can be found at https://libra.energy/en/tips/faq-set-wifi-goodwe-inverter/

Oh, I know about SEMS, it works even from another internet connection (actualy I have now problem with SEMS which does not work at all 😕 )

I hoped PV Master is possible to connect remotly too, I have it out of house and I want to change the setting of inverter sometimes

haha, so it is possible to connect to inverter through the local wifi network in PV Master! You just need to tap the "SEMS icon" in the left top corner and it will connect you to the inverter and you are able to do everything in PV Master 👍

next step -> find out how to connect it to Raspberry Pi and be able to control and set up inverter with some basic scripts, so I can make the whole PV system much more efective
