Axpert King Inverter Firmware

Featured Replies

Today I updated my September 2018 King firmware from 71.50 to 71.86. I also updated the screen firmware to 2.00. The updates went well and took about 15 minutes to complete.

After changing setting 5 to PYL and waiting about a minute. I now have communication between the batteries and the inverter. So it seems (for my inverter anyway) the 2018 Kings do have the correct hardware to communicate with Pylontech batteries.

I shutdown the load from the inverter then the turned off my solar supply and finally turned off my utility supply. So I was left with the inverter only running on batteries. Connected the inverter to my laptop via a serial to usb connector. I ran the screen firmware 2.00 update first.

Then ran the 71.86 update and it loaded fine.

I turned on everything in the reverse order.

I did however have to purchase another serial to usb connector as the first one I bought didn’t want to work with the software.

This is the one I bought second time round. And it worked perfectly.

Did download the software but can't find instructions how to upgrade.

Oops! Usually the firmware update files come with instructions on how to use them inside the archive (.rar or .zip file). The King firmware updates didn't come with them, sadly.

So I've uploaded the installation instructions here:

https://powerforum.co.za/files/file/48-axpert-king-pip-mk-reflash-guidepdf/

i could not start the upgrade process again. the inverter shows 32 and a warning sign.

the red fault led is flashing

is there any way to start the inverter with the old firmware 71.50? Or is that deleted?

Anything I can do to get the box running again?

not sure what you mean abut the screen firmware version.

When I press the key next to the enter key it shows U01 with the fault sign

I managed to get the communication going and upgradeing is running again. Will report later.

Hi

can you upload the screen firmware 2.00 for download?

i know @Coulomb only posted the main firmware 71.86

thanks

wonder whether error due to no cable to US3000. If I go back to program 05=USE error goes away.

what cable must i use between inverter and US3000 and how must it be connected?

I've add it to the downloads.

For those who still struggle, received a mail from Pylontech:

1.

inverter pin: RS485B——3, RS485A——5

battery pin: RS485B——8, RS485A——7

2.

Connect to Master battery RS485 port,
RS485 baud rate 9600

the ADD setting for baud rate 9600 shall be “1000” (default is “0000) (master battery)

3.

section reference numbers from the 05 - battery type: “USE” or “PYL” (have to be PYL in my opinion)

4.

set low dc cut-off voltage: 47,5v or 48v (won’t matter if the communication works as 02, 12, 13, 26, 27, 29 become self regulated by the batteries)

5.

after turning off the inverter manually, all batteries shall be shut down and restarted

The above is for the Axpert VMIII / KING 48V/5KW inverters.

did you wire GND and if so what pins?

I wired GND on PIN 6 both sides.

All seems to be working. Only issue I see is that the battery symbol on the inverter screen is flashing. Any ideas?

Big Thank you to RichieRich, Wilfred and Coulomb for the time and effort spend helping me getting this going.

Hi @Coulomb

According to the axpert king manual, flashing of new firmware can also be done through a flash drive connected to the USB port. Just want to know if this is applicable in this scenario using these softwares before I upgrade my inverter

Thanks

I imagine so. I don't own a King. All you probably need is dsp.hex on a USB flash drive.

I have something like this and hope it might work. I don’t know if I have a spare rs232 spot on my inverter, communication between inverters are plugged into those in the parallel cards, did not check yet for another available port.
