Tesup - ATLAS2.0 - Review

Have a look at Erastus' thread on the turbine he is building.

As far as pricing for a turbine, that very much depends on your available wind. Turbines are rated at their max power, but that requires crazy wind. The power decreases with the cube of wind speed, so that for an effective 1kw under normal wind conditions you probably need about a 4kw turbine

Yes, aware of that. I however need 300-500W max so would think a 1-1.5kw turbine would do the job. That's also if their rated correctly. I've seen endless videos about Chinese turbines that's not even delivering 10% of it's rated output. I would like to experiment and build something myself but I just don't have the time at the moment. I had to retrench all my staff through Covid lockdown so I've been running my business completely by myself for almost a year now. Financially I've recovered somehow but with such low overheads and me still being able to manage the workload by myself I might be going on like this for a while so time for projects is a big NO NO...

Hi Guys

Finally had some positive feedback from Delta SA offering some assistance on the Inverter part, If all else fails, then i could just add panels to it, I did hear your comment re the startup voltage, but mine managed to reach that without to much wind. SO I don't think that that was my issue. Will keep you guys posted, As for Tesup, I would stay well clear of them, both from a product, manufacturing and service point of view on the ATLAS 2. Cant speak for their other units thou.

The design of the unit should work well, and i will be honest the smoke and mirrors on the tesup website and their marketing did catch me a bit, does look like its a wonderful unit on the website and on paper.

Haven't been able to test the DELTA stuff as per yet.

I have bought a zeus 3.0 wind turbine, it has already arrived, although I am still building the 15 meter turret. Does anyone have references to this Tesup model? I hope it is not as bad as the one discussed here.

As the tower and the cabin will be 60 meters away, I have thought about joining it with a 10mm2 cable. Is it too much?

On the charge controller, will it hold 12 units of 2v and 900ah c100 with a battery bank? looks flimsy.

my current inverter is a hybrid axpert and 1.5kw on plates, this is only for cloudy days

my location is in Chipiona (Spain)

Please send me a contact number for Tesup South Africa. I paid for a turbine 4 weeks ago and I have not received any response from them. I have send messages on their website but I am not getting any response. If I can get a physical address it would also be great. It seems like Tesup South Africa is a SCAM.

Purchased an Atlas 2.0 on 11 november 2021 they did not say that there is a delivery delay of virtually 2 months before i payed ….only after inquiring Tesup gave a generic response of not having spares and having to wait …… why was i not told upfront ….. is this the way any international company with integrity operates

MORE LIKE a Bunch of SCAMSTERS without a contact number or mail address to contact a person

Did you manage to sort it out, and how is the unit performing?

in the same boat ….. have you received your unit yet

I actually doubt there's a SA physical address or in any other country for that matter, with everything simply (drop ?) shipped. The timeframes involved seem to indicate this.

maybe try the following below, its the only info I could find, at least its a real point of contact. The info presented in this thread is absolutely horrific in all respects, so decided to try help out.

For the sake of completeness there's no Tesup registered locally, perhaps a "distributor trading as" ,if anybody has paid locally, if they could supply the company name listed for payment, or any details. From there I can likely supply directors and contact numbers, so at least there's communication.

if the below isn't thorough info enough, I can always run a global domains analysis.

Global Tesup Installation Map

A map of tesup wind turbine installs globally, it may be real or fake, I wouldn't invest to much in it.

link for Tesup global windturbine installs

ever wanted to meet a fellow tesup wind turbine owner near you, maybe swap stories, then this map is for you, there's an equally real chance there will nothing there

alternatively, thinking of buying, ask someone who has already, again it may be a wasted trip with nothing there.

UK Registered Address

the given registered office address is either porche or self storage, either way its not tesup.

Seems self storage is the winner - Link to Self Storage with details, give them a call ?

@George Hickman

There isn't a SA address, Its like a spread global distribution of websites with local domains to pretend it has a local presence.

@YellowTapemeasure

, Its trash, money waisted, to date not 0.1kwh generated.

I eventually had to remove the Atlas 2 due to the shaft join failing, and at that stage it still did not generate 0.1kwh, i contacted them again, and they told me to tighten the screw, (its basically torn the screw out due to the bad design of the very short connection point between the blades and the turbines.)

Furthermore the Delta is not ideally suited for this as the delta takes a while to do the calculations before it starts to sync and invert, so the turbine kind of speeds up, then slows down, its not anywhere less noisy as advertised, so i would technically have to build a frame around this turbine to support the axle from the top, as the join on the bottom is not string enough, the generation unit, is very very level, so there should have been no reason for turbine play, yet.

here we are again. money pissed into the wind, you will fond more and more videos online of complaints.

comments turned off on all their official platforms., It really is a fake it till you make it company it seems, and they not making it, on the service side, on the support side, just a mess. Seems a huge overlap between their designs/online designs, and they manufacturing quality. But yea, looking forward to any other feedback.

Hi everybody,

tesup seems to be unreachable, try to connect on linked, Facebook, insta even on several country tesup sites. NO contact.
the biggest thing of all is that I don’t get a answer on this question:

Desired setup: atlas x with 3 kw converter ( so can ad in case of a 2e atlas

q:

in this scope there is a converter that starts with 34 volts,. Does this mean the atlas does at least to have 11m/s ? Or else almost 40 km / hr ?

did not receive an answer, so I assume yep with 4m/s he deliver power but wil never produce 220v

so indeed I’m buying more panels

adn forget about tesup

or am I wrong is this assumption? Please let me know

Just replying to bump this.

Interested in the same question.

Thanks

No reply, no answer, no product! I will be instructing court proceedings for the claim of the amount money

All projects due to role out are now on hold. We were about to issue 17 order to them.
I’m glad that didn’t happen. I have searched for the company and read the company registered details. We will be instructing claims against the share holders

I suggest people who have been scammed by this company continue to post online and also include Tesla as Tesup could be and understood as a sister company . I was lead to believe this was part of Tesla(?)

I was also about to press the "buy" button on the Tesup Magnum five.

but after asking a few easy questions on the website and not getting a response

I decided to search for reviews..  Tesup seem to be a global scam if you look at their website of their instagram pictures not one of them shows any wind turbines.

and then I found this...

https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/tesup.co.uk

and also found this thread.

Just don't buy from Tesup and if you have then contact your credit card for a charge back

Thanks for sharing your pain.

I'll skip Tesup then. It states ''designed in California, built in the UK''

Not sure if this is the case, but other brands might be even more Chinese.

My 9kw(20x455w) of solar panels are almost useless in winter and avg less than 10kwh/day in June.

Yea I mean, If you are doing court proceeding then i have my documentation and images as in this post, but the marketing continues with them, and i haven't seen any positive reviews anywhere.

As a whole wind is a difficult one in its current state, and yea well, The delivery took so long that when i wanted to reverse its passed the "period" form my card provider.

Was really a bad and expensive mistake to trust them.

I am investigating putting a wind turbine at my home.  Obviously not even going to look at Tesup.  Thank you for the posts that saved me money and hassles and very sorry for the money you  lost.

Are there any suppliers in South Africa that can be trusted with selling reliable wind turbines and offer the back up serbvice if needed ?

Happy to help. www.pegasus-systems.co.za

They are My passion. We first need to see if a wind turbine is suitable.
