  1. What a sad day this will be. I thought these boards had decent features, for the price but as being said by some of the other commentators, these boards didn't have any documentation to work with. 2. Hi All OK... I have 3 residences on the farm. One is mine - I can control devices via relay etc. 2nd is tenant (200m away) 3rd is tenant (100m away) I've been reading up on X10 type devices which allow you to switch them on and off over the power grid as I don't have the means to do it another way. http://www.smarthomeusa.com/x10-pro-pam04-plug-in-heavy-duty-appliance-module-20a-220v/ I want to be able to switch off remote fridges/pool pump for example by sending a signal based on SOC of my bank. That way I can start considering going off grid and not killing my bank as soon as a tenant decides to use the stove when they actually …

  3. Started by DownTime,

I have a 2 Tb external hard drive that I link to my laptop and then to the tv to watch movies and stuff. My "hit the room like a hurricane" 2 year old boy bumped the laptop off of the floating shelf under the tv. I was thinking of using something else to prevent this from happening again and had a look at multi media players and the Raspberry Pi. What will be the best Pi to use as I see there is a Pi2, Pi3, A+, B+ model etc and do I need to load anything like KODI onto it to be able to watch movies? Thanks

I have a client that is looking for someone to write him some software that takes multiple files that have been collected by some commercial software called Maglog from Geometrics in the USA, merges them, displays them graphically for on screen editing and sorting etc. Maglog creates files, both asci and binary as required, from instruments recording the data. It time stamps them with PC time on every record. We have a positioning/navigation system that is running separately also recording the position and elevation plus some other information we require. This only has GPS time within the data stream and is not linked to Maglog. …

Hi all, It's with some trepidation and lots of excitement that I'm releasing -- with the blessings of big blue -- the first version of Venus for the Raspberry Pi. What this means is that you can now run the same software that runs on the Victron CCGX on a raspberry pi. You need at least a Raspberry Pi 2, though it should also work on the Pi 3. The instructions for making this work is available here. And no, I will not port this to windows.

I have a old BMV600? It uses BMV-60xS Text (TTL) protocol. This one: https://www.victronenergy.com/accessories/bmv-602-data-link-rs-232 Have the connector for the pins on the BMV600, other side a serial connector, but I cannot figure out what FDTI cable I must get that does not cost a arm and a left ... toenail, that will work on Pi and Windows. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Or, anyone prepared to built me one for a fee?

Hi I`ve installed the Victron 2x5KVa system at my house with the victron blue energy color panel and the battery monitor. I want to know what is the best option to be able to monitor the system and store the data on the victron data cloud available on the net. This will make it possible for me to see what the status of my system is while I`m in the D.R.C. If someone could help me with the basic explanation on how to do this I would dearly appreciate it.
