Emon CMS

Hi All, I've been using Dashboard for more than 6 months. Created over 12 or so successful working ones, to display info I need. So after managing to read the temperature from my Geyser using an ESP8266, I successfully posted this info to Node2. I then created a Geyser Temp Time Compare graph, and it shown what i need. Lekker. So I used the Dashboard icon (top leftish) dropdown menu (The Dashboard appear here in alphabetical sequence!) then select the GTTC(added this name in the creation stage as an alias), then I just get a blank. It's been awhile since we bragged with our "creations" so I'll be the first to do so. Here is my main dash Still need to sort the prepaid meter's data but the rest I am happy with Then I have a reports page that shows some history values I use Openhab to view my data remotely and control some switches Main Dash Solar System Page And the Solar watts page And then some of the switches we can control Now lets see the rest !!

So I decided to have a look at the Emon Local server and its a bit tricky to setup in the beginning but after that its running quite smoothly. You have a lot more options when it come to design the dash and you also have the ability to create a "virtual feed" if you need to do a calculation of sorts. All in all good fun and I would recommend the use of it if you have less than favorable internet connection. Here is some screen shots. Morning Guys Starting with emoncms , if you follow the official page can seem to be a bit daunting. So I decided to build a "Portable" version of emoncms. It runs from a little program called USB Webserver and all the settings is taken care of. All you need to do is run the installer and make sure to install the program in your C drive as all the settings is setup in that way and register a new user. Also you will need to open the firewall port on your PC but windows firewall will popup some prompts with the first run. So far I could not find any problems. But please post I you pick something up. The web based emoncms is no longer going to be free from 1 July 2018. The way I understand it is that you will pay £1 / year / feed. If you have 30 Node inputs then that will be £ 30 / year. Emoncms Local hosting will still be for free.

I have two SMA SB 4000TL 21 inverters. Each has two two MPPT controllers and I also have 2 strings of PV arrays connected. I therefore have 4 arrays feeding into the two inverters. Two are facing East and Two are facing West and the two Eastward facing arrays differ in size. I would like to monitor the power production PER array. Using the emonPi and emonTx with 4 CT sensors, can I monitor production per string? @Chris Hobson noted that some might not be as experienced with Emoncms , so I decided to make a short tutorial on how to create a fairly sleek looking Emon Dash. Now keep in mind that this is my first attempt but I hope this will give you the basics to produce even better dashboards than the sample that I have showed here!! I've looked through the Emon CMS documentation. Firstly, I'm not too impressed by how they process inputs tbh. That said, the rest looks really good. The documentation on adding Inputs and Feeds, which you seem to need to in order to get graphing, etc. working, is very, very sparse. I can't seem to figure out how you input data exactly. At first it seemed like a pull model which you have to code yourself in PHP (blegh). Thereafter I thought it would be possible to use a push model. Point being, the documentation doesn't set the scene or explain what it is you are trying to do really (IMO) Thoughts, opinions, ideas?

I thought Ill give a quick startup tutorial for first time user of emoncms. Now some of the images might not be exactly as the .org site but the principle stays the same. Also this will be just how to start your first feed and new dash , the possibilities is infinite when it comes to editing the das extra and also the idea is not to write a full manual on the subject , so here goes. I've set up an input from ICC to a local emoncms running on the same Raspberry Pi but I am getting pages and pages of inputs with repeated values for all the measurements. Is this correct or have I done something wrong? In ICC I used the "write" API Key to submit the data - is that the problem (should I have used the read API Key?

With all the posts that's floating about Emoncms , I think it would be nice to showcase some of the designs floating about. I for one really enjoy playing with emon as it gives you endless options to interpret the data on hand. You can littery plot or calculate any of the values that you equipment gives you and best of all you can customise your data the way you would like it to be.
