Hi, I'm running ICC version 4.9 and monitoring itself works reasonable. My system has a 10 kW Voltronics Hybrid + 4x Pylontech US3000C, "gried-tie with backup (II) mode". Both are recognized by the software and the correct data is shown. Unfortunately there is no decent user manual available and I never received any response to my mails sent to [email protected]. Got only once a mail from "Manie" with the license, but no technical support, which is kind of strange. So maybe someone of you can help me 🙂 I thought that ICC can control charge and discharge of the Pylontech batteries based on the SOC. Is see the SOC in the software, but there seems to be no o…

I recently had a leak in the mains water supply pipe between the council water meter and my home which resulted in my water bill being 10 times more than what it usually is. The leak was only visible once the ground around the leak was fully saturated and the paving started showing sign of standing water. Insurance doesnt cover for this and council is within their rights to charge me for the consumption because the leaking pipe is after their meter. I was wondering if there was some sort of GSM water meter on the market that would notify me if my consumption went above a pre determined set point or if there was consumption outside of pre determined hours. …

Very Simple Python script to send loadshedding status to influxdb for use in grafana on raspberry pi Tip: If not already installed add the nano editor to your system, its just easier to use Now Create file called loadsheddingcheck.py You can do this i your home directory or anywhere you like to load your scripts, just be sure to change/edit the cron according to your preference. touch loadsheddingcheck.py Then sudo nano loadsheddingcheck.py Add (copy paste) the following code to the file and save (ctrl x y) from urllib.request import urlopen import json from influxdb import InfluxDBClient import datetime url = "https://loadshedding.eskom.co.…

So since I've setup my blue install I have come across node red ... awesome is all I can say. Last night I hacked together a little UI with some information that I wanted to see. It also shows the grid status and announces if the status of the grid changes. On the configuration tab I've added manual switching of relays on the venus for a start. I'll of course add to this as I go along and update here. Things on the road map: - See if I can use sun forecasting to determine how much I discharge the batteries at night - There are certain things I want to control given the various states my system is in - Add a button to control …

Hello. I have an inverter brabd Goodwe model GW2000-XS. I am using Sems portal. It happens as follow. If inverter has not internet connection for some hours, let's say from 1 to max 24 - 36 hours, when internet connection is again available datas are uploaded in the sems portal, so i can monitor production datas and so on. But if the delay is bigger, for example a couple of days or a week or more datas are completely lost so the monitoring is absolutely useless and you work on fake data because in the previous days it says produced 0kw and so on. If for example the photovoltaic system is in an isolated area and once per week you go there and you give internet co…

I have the following question regarding the Goodwe SEMS portal before I buy an inverter. At the installation site the internet connection is regulary temporaly off for a few hours or days. Does the inverter store the generation information locally and afterwards sends it to SEMS, that there are no data gaps in the historic data? for how many hourse? thanks rh

I already have two windows lap tops on my desk. One is mine, one is the one I use for work. Because I have limited desk space and don't want to be moving peripherals from one machine to the other I got an old fashioned (VGA) KVM switch. This works fine for the two windows machines. I can toggle between them using the keyboard. What doesn't work is my Pi 4. If I connect the monitor, mouse and keyboard directly into the PI then everything works, but I can't use it via the switch. The connection for the video is a bit messy, because the monitor on my desk is an old VGA unit. So the connections from PI to monitor are Micro HDMI to standard HDMI adaptao…

This is my first post on this forum and I thought it would be good to have a contribution as a first post and hope to help someone in future. I have a 'big' deployment of Home Assistant running at home with all my lights, geyser and pool pump being controlled via Sonoffs with Tasmota Fw. Some of these devices are controlled via automation scripts to switch on the geyser at certain times or the lights when I get home after dark. Now... with me getting into solar energy and buying a variant of the Axpert inverter it was a no brainer to look into ICC (although as I am writing this I am still on my 7 day trial). I installed it and had to get used to the interface. A…

Hi guys, Having some time during Lockdown, I have came up with this simple "controller" for the Axpert inverter with Pylontech batteries. It does not run on a Pi, but on an ESP8266. What do you think:

Hi, I have one of the older Axpert type inverters, 5kVa 4kw. I am looking for a way to monitor the loads etc remotely via the web. What can you recommend? Or do I need to replace the inverter..... If so what is recommended. My PV is stringed in 3's and I do not want to change this. Thanks

Sold out ... Anyone using this software who can offer feedback. I am looking for a way to control and distribute the load as and when I require. For example can I isolate all the non essential loads as soon as the power switches off ... but control them using an app? Lets say I have 5 aircon units ... when I am sitting in the lounge ... I wan to be able to switch on the power to all devices in the lounge ... I get up to go make a cup off coffee ... I wan to be able to check the load on the system and shuffle ... so switch off the aircon if I need to ... make coffee ... then switch on the aircon once the kettle is boiled. When I go to the bedroom I wan…

Recently ditched my stupid timer And built this: *Already installed this for 2 of my customers who are quite happy with how it all works* Raspberry Pi Controlled Geyser Timer. Components used: 1. Raspberry Pi Zero 2. Relay to drive the contactor 3. Is there a way to use EmonCMS in a similar way that ICC software works on a Raspberry Pi 2? I have two solar systems and the one is using the Watchpower system via PC which really is a horrible interface. I am looking at something more graphical, that is available via open source to try. I noticed that EmonSD is available but I can find no info whether this is a stand alone installation for the Pi, or whether it must be installed in Raspbian My Pi has Raspbian installed and I would not mind changing to a Linux based platform if there is something useable that I could try Please help me with your suggestions? Much appreciated Sass

Hi guys, I am new to the forum and have done some "trawling" amongst previous posts but was unable to find a definitive answer. I would appreciate any guidance/assistance. Like most people on the forum, I have a requirement to monitor my Inverter/charge rate/battery voltage, etc. on a Raspberry Pi 3. From what I could find, it seems there is only 1 option available being: ICC software - http://iccsoftware.co.za/ from Centurion Solar. The current price today appears to be R879 based on the current ZAR/USD exchange rate. I do appreciate that they need to have a return in terms of development hours invested and agree that the application has…

Continuing my journey with DIY Solar And Energy Data Visualization I eventually gave up on Grafana - Free community edition not powerful enough to do exactly what I wanted. So after some more research I have setup a fully self hosted thingsboard server and found almost everything I needed using just the free community edition. End goal is to have all my solar and energy data on easy to read and understand dashboards. And most of all it must be available online to view from anywhere that I have an internet connection. Further integration into an app will be the next part of this journey, who does not like a good app Thingsboard has a very robust and easy to …

So I am ready to take the next step in my off-grid/on-grid solar adventure. You can view my 1st post here Now to start measuring all this eskom power solar battery stuff. I started by looking at all the inverters and the monitoring software they come with. Mixed results on that, some work ok, some are total crap. Solution - D.I.Y. seems to be the way to go on this too. I have looked at some of the forum posts here and also again a load of youtube videos and power forums. My conclusion is that it is 100% better to D.I.Y. and I have settled on the software, hardware etc on doing this. My first setup is now completed and I can start measuring power cons…

I was busy trawling through emoncms site the other day and see that Tryston Lee has made a new app last year "My Solar + Battery". What a nifty app. This is the info that I think most of us want to see from our solar systems.
