I'm going to be upgrading my current battery to a Dyness BX51100 and thought it would be the perfect time to get Solar Assistant as well. I have the 5kw Sunsynk inverter. Looking at the guides on the Solar Asisstant website I will need to get the following: Pi + Software After this things start to get a bit confusing. Can I still use the SunSynk Wi-Fi dongle while using Solar Assistant? I will either have to get the USB to RS232 or USB to RS485 cable for the inverter. How do I know which to get? Do I also need to get a separate cable for the Dyness battery?

Does the home assistant app allow one to control your home assistant from abroad? Im out of town and can't seem to connect to my house. Is there where one buys the cloud services?

*Please note I have changed the Topic description Good day All, I'm very new to this. I'm looking for device that will allow me to pull logs. Specifically Amp's. I have seen devices that can give historical logs in kWh but that won't help me. I need to know what is the max Amp's pulled on which day of the week and what hour of the day What is on the market, what are you guys using? Recommendations please Regards

Hi All I currently have the following installd: - 26 * 450w panels - 4 * 48v Hubble batteries - 3 * AnyGrid inverters I use HubbleCloud to monitor the environment and manually filp between Solar and Utility as my main source depending on the state of the batteries and the loadshedding schedule. Is there known way of tapping into the HubbleCloud system to retrieve my data to enable me to monitor the system, check the loadshedding and programatically make the decision on which source to use. Not that I already have the access to the loadshedding api in real time. Any advice would be appreciated.

I had great success with the wifi dongle but after changing my router I am struggling to access after resetting it- I can connect to the dongle with wifi but when I try to open the web configuration page at 192.162.10.100 I get a error massage stating that 192.168.10.100 refused connection- I have tried it on 3 different pc`s now with the same result. Any help here please

  11. Hi Guys, I have a Roboguard alarm system at home that I would like to get into home assistant. The arming and disarming should be easy - just soldering a button on a remote. However, I am not sure how I can monitor the current status of the alarm. The easiest option I think would be to use the LED indicator light with some sort of relay, or I would need to get another alarm panel and use the entire roboguard system as one of the zones. Has anyone done this before? G

Just received my Hubble Cloudlink and would like to install it but after reading the manual I can't figure out which way I should setup it. There are Rj45 to RJ12 cables. Can to Can cable. A 24-48V power cable and a RJ2 to RJ2 cable. Currently the Can on inverter is connected to the batteries Can. Manual says to only use power when not using the Red serial cable. So my understanding is with sunsynk the power cable needs to be connected and then the inverter Can connected to the Cloudlink Can port. Should the Hubble Am-2 Can then be connected to the Mul(ti) port. Any advice would be appreciated. @Leshenyou have done these on Sunsynk righ…

Hi , I have been using ICC for 2 years monitoring my Axpert invertors, Hubble batteries and solar panels . i recently noticed this Solar Assistant software and it looks intriguing . any recommendations on which to use ( including functionality - eg . I often want to look back longer than the time the default charts show on dashboards , but have never found a way to do this with ICC Also , do any of these have a way to monitor upcoming grid outages for loadshedding and optimize settings accordingly

HI, Has anyone managed to use esphome to monitor their Axpert inverter? Using the RS232-TTL method. https://esphome.io/components/pipsolar.html I've tried making up the rj45(rs232)->ttl converter cable ( https://github.com/syssi/esphome-pipsolar ), but i just get continious QPIRI Timeouts leading to me to believe the cable be working correctly. or that i have some sort of incorrect parameters or config. [13:13:40][D][pipsolar:757]: timeout command to poll: QPIRI [13:13:40][D][pipsolar:840]: Sending polling command : QPIRI with length 5 Or if anyone is able to provide the pinout for a RCT axpert 5k RS232 (RJ45) Port? Howdy folks, got a bit of an arb question here. So a business got 10 of these Sonoff POW3s and want to get them all installed where applicable. It is a factory with solar and a generator, so my only thoughts were to use them in tandem with contactors to: Automatically turning factory lights on in the morning and off at night Timing geysers to reduce load in the morning when solar is weakest Starting the Generator remotely Phase monitoring I would call upon the collective creativity of this community to offer any other uses for something like this in a distribution business?

  18. I am looking for information on how to query a Freedom Lite battery State-of-Charge and other data. My ultimate goal is to publish data from batteries and inverters via MQTT so that other devices can be switched on and off dependant on their priority and available power. The current setup is a MCP2515 and NodeMCU.

It goes without saying, that having the ability to monitor usage, compilation of data and being able to change parameters of an inverter wirelessly gives significant levels of convenience. However, off-late, the increase of hackers targeting remote systems is off concern. I don't seem to hear a lot about various Inverter system providers talking about how secure their portals are or sites when it comes to ensuring these remain secure. Imagine, God forbid, someone hacking Sunsynk or Victron portals and tampering with systems globally... that would be catastrophic! Would also be comfortable having inverter systems having on-board drives to store data, in case someone doesn'…

I have a Axpert Max 8kw (RCT) with 4 Pylontech Bat and is working realy well.I want to make it simpler for the wife in the kitchen ...want to make a display with a Adruino and use the wifi doing it.I do use multisibcontrol on the rs232 interphase works very well.So for a project i want to make a display thats easy to read in the kitchen using the Wifi and Adruino...first problem is to couple a console or browser to the wifi ...cant get it to work the Ip of the wifi is 192.168.88.88. I ping it perfectly but get no data if is sent maybe a QPIGS to it. Help will be appreciated

  21. Hi, I open new topic about how is charging inverter battery becouse i receive to repair many inverters with error F08 (Bus voltage too high). I not pay more attention until now to charger, only to mppt BUT this is not charger efective to inverters, this only get BUS voltage and some low power 48V . I not see any power source to cgarge battery, and i think charger is revers to inverter from BUS voltage to battery voltage from grid and solar, except old inverters with mppt low voltage and PWM. I am wrong? I want to know why receive F08 error when i charge from grid, what is wrong? problem is hardware or software.

  22. Basically what the title says, can I connect one wifi dongle to a system that has two Growatt inverters interconnected via RS 485 ?

Hi all, I’m in the process of building some software for inverters, the end goal is to support multiple inverter types and batteries. I have some great ideas of my own but wanted to get some perspective from the peeps in here that already have solar setups, and wanted to see what your pain points are and if you could build some cool software, what features would you add?

Hi everyone. I am looking at interfacing with a Luxpower SNA5000 inverter via the comms port where the wifi dongle connects. Does anyone have the pinouts / comms type / protocol? I am looking at interfacing it to an ESP32. I know there is a "Luxpower bridge" using a Raspberry Pi, but those Pi's are hard to get at the moment. Thanks Jacques

Hi all, I hope I'm posting this in the right thread, hoping someone could help me out with this. I'm currently doing my thesis for my Computer Science degree, on improving reliability and solar utilization with IoT and Machine Learning, and need to construct a few machine learning models for some experiments, and I need as much data as I can get my hands on, I have been collecting some data of my own from my inverter, but it won't be enough, so if there is anyone here that has some data recorded and is willing to send it to me, that would be awesome, you will be credited in my thesis. I would also just need the area of your setup so that I could track the weather pa…
