Hi PF's, my data logger just seems to randomly lose connection and show as offline. I thought it may be a weak wifi signal so installed one of those little Huawei range extenders in the garage with a separate SSID and connected the Sunsynk logger to it. Same story. Its just lost connection again. could it be due to interference from the inverter itself? I have also tried using different channels on the wifi config but to no avail. Running an ethernet cable is not an option for me unfortunately. any ideas how to stabilize the connection?

  2. I am trying to set up the wifi on a 7.2 Max with no success, I manage to connect to the wifi hotspot the MAX creates quite easily, but the watchpower app just gets stuck on the screen which says: Connecting to the WiFi module. It does not actually connect to the wifi module so that I can enter the network settings to actually get the wifi module connected on the router. Am I missing something? Yes I am connected to exactly the same WiFi network as the serial number for the wireless device in question

  4. Hi All Hope someone could help me in my confusion to connect a Raspberry pi 3b+ to my inverters I have 3 x 3phase 12kw deye inverters connected in parallel. Rj45 cables come from the bms port of each inverter to a rs485/can hub and then to my master battery. So my question, how to connect the raspberry pi? Inverter model number : sun-12k-sg04lp3

  5. Hi All. Ive been looking at security cameras at my place. And came across these wyze cam v3. Although you have to pay for the extra features, im really liking the tech and features for the price. Wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with them. Would love to get some feedback. Thanks

Hi, first of all.... Great forum, great topic and great advice. I'm a total noob to backup power systems. Installed a All-in-one 5kv inverter with Li battery from Growcoll and so far so good... Guess its to early to say if its any good but with the latest load shedding schedules it proved to be allright. I think time will tell. My first question, which mobile apps are the best for monitoring. I have installed Solarman smart but I need to add the system to another app. Solarman does not allow the same system on multiple mobile devices. Any preferences? Kwis

  7. Hi everyone. New here and in need of assistance please. I'm trying to get some custom (live) reporting out of my Sunsynk Inverter, but battling with the USB-RS485 converter. It's definitely wired correctly (Onto my second RJ45 to make sure) and still not getting any data through the Sunsynk add-on by KellerZa. Log after initialising the add-on: [s6-init] making user provided files available at /var/run/s6/etc...exited 0. [s6-init] ensuring user provided files have correct perms...exited 0. 8. Hi all, I have the following system in place as a "UPS" for now. RENTECH VM-3000 and RENTECH 200AH LiFePO4 I have found PowerWatch software that i can sort of see what the Inverter is doing, however I recently purchased a single 375W Solar panel to play/test with. Don't have any roof area currenly, so have to use balcony. I ran the system without utility for 2 days, to bring the battery down and see how this single SP will charge the battery. It did not do much, but like i say, i'm testing/playing with the system to better understand what the possibilities are. The PowerWatch software says my battery capacity is at 80% after the 2 days of no util…

Hi I have an Efergy E2 electricity monitoring device, but lost the transmitter part. Still have the display and CT wire. I cant seem to find any place which sells the transmitter part separately. Only abroad, but shipping costs make it too expensive. Locally it seems that these Efergy units are not really sold anymore. Very few places that stock them, if any. Does anyone know of a place which sell the transmitter separately. Or if not, is thee a different brand monitoring device that is not too expensive. It also does not seem there are many alternatives to the Efergy, which is quite strange to me?

  10. Hi guys. What is this, it seems like a WI FI hotspot connection which is plugger into a Mecer RS 232 port.

Hello, Can Anyone point me in the right direction so I can use home assistant to view by ICC dashboard? Using VNC viewer is not the most ideal and home assistant would be great.

Has anyone else noticed that since the last updates/maintenance which Solarman has made on their apps/platforms/websites, that they seem to have dropped the "temperature" monitoring from their charts?

Hi, I just had a quick question. I currently have a 1000W Axpert inverter that I am using a rasberry pi via the USB Type B port and python script to communicate with the inverter and do a bunch of things for me. I was looking at upgrading my system to an Axpert King. I just wanted to find out if they come with the same port and communication protocol for me to call the QPIGS function as I am currently doing?

  16. I have two 4kw infinisolar inverters in parralel and need help to manage the settings with my Wi-Fi, they are linked with 4 x 3.5Kw Pylontech 3000C 3.5kWh Li-Ion batteries

I had a home Axpert and monitored it with a Rasberry Pi running ICC. It gave beautiful remote access and I enjoyed the view. But changed system to Victron (upgraded) and now I want to migrate my ICC to an adjacent cottage where I have a smaller Axpert running. I am told ICC no longer supports my system and I have to upgrade to a new monthly package. I cannot afford that just for the cottage - hardly occupied. Are there alternative ways to have remote access to esp SOC and incoming and outgoing current? It is a 12v 1000w Axpert with a 12v 200A Mecer lithium ion (a cheapie but I only use the system for load shedding and do not use the panels.) How …

  18. I'm got a Axpert MAX with 3 Pylon 3.3k batteries and use ICC to monitor and that works ok. BUT I am now trying to create my own simplified panel with Node Red and Grafana. I managed to setup the Raspberry Pi with Node Red, Influx DB and Grafana and created the Dashboard. This works quite well now and I can monitor the inverter basics on the RPi via VNC or on my local network with the RPi - IP on port 3000. I used and adapted the Node Red code (thanks to Tejota) to pull data from the MAX RS232 port via a USB - Serial adaptor and the inverter supplied RS232 cable. My next challenge is to read the Pylon batteries via the console port as I wan…

  19. I need a power meter that can allow smaller appliances like TVs or fridges, but shutdown when connected to power hungry appliances like kettles or hairdryers. On the face of it, the Sonoff Pow R2 can do it. But when I tested it with my fridge, the default firmware cannot distinguish between the startup spike of my fridge and a hairdryer (both are of order of 1 kW, but the former is only short lived). Right now, I'm installing the Sonoff LAN controller on my Home Assistant, in the hope that it can configure additional variables on the default firmware. It looks like the Tasmota firmware will work, but I don't have a 3.3 V serial port to reflash my Pow R2. Can som…

Anyone here using ESP Link to connect their IOT devices (or inverters or BMS' etc) to their machines? I want to be able to make some changes on my BMS but its software only runs in Windows. Since I don't have a PC and have no desire to constantly need to connect a machine physically to my BMS I was considering just using an ESP Link to allow me to connect remotely to the serial port in a VirtualBox machine. There is a tutorial to setup a virtual serial port on your local machine using ESP Link Theoretically you can do this for things like Axpert or any inverter really. Anyone else doing so, what have been your experiences?

Hi all, I am going to be out of town for a few days. And you know, I have a feeling in my water that there will be some of that load shedding stuff going on. So is it possible to be able to control my Goodwe ES remotely? Currently I have to be attached to the same wifi network or to the Goodwe itself. I am guessing that I am going to need some device with a fixed IP address in the mix, but I'm no networking expert. Anyway to do this? So that if the weather is foul and ESP tell me that load shedding is about to start and I'm out of the house, I can use PV Master to switch into economy mode and charge my batteries?

  24. I thought hooking up a Pi3B+ with solar assistant would be a lot easier this time ... well you know what thought did. So we back to struggling with a what should be a simple task. You got to solar assistant ... download an SD card image ... flash it ... register the site (SD card) ... connect the raspberry Pi to the inverter and switch it on ... follow a few steps and bingo you have remote viewing. If only it was that simple. I can create a solar assistant wifi access point ... I can find it on the device on the local network. The frustrating part is maybe there is just one step I am missing ... the problem with solar assistant ...it feels like y…
