Hi Does your ICC App start automatically or must you trigger the start button? Version prior to 3.1 did start. I want to add my own BMV version to monitor my batteries. I bought Peacefair PZEM 13,15,17 device to monitor and collect data(RS485) from batteries. ICC is not adding this to the suite. The more expensive Victron BMV seems to be the only choice. Is anyone else using other means to monitor the Axpert inverters and batteries (app) ? Thanks

Hi, I just want to find out if I am on the right track by connecting my Raspberry Pi with icc software and a BVM 702 meter to measure soc on my battery bank. Is the B1 and B2 wire correct for midpoint measurement

There may be better places in the web to discuss this topic.... anyhow i give it a try. I'm running ICC software on a pi to monitor the Axpert inverters. And a second one for GPIO to start/stop the generator and the pool pump depending on the SOC. I use(d) AFP (Apple File Protocol) to exchange files to/from my MacBook. Typically config end log files i saved this way because a crash on a pi can destroy the "harddisk" = SD card. The "problem" started after i installed a completely new system downloaded from the ICC developer. It solved the issues with ICC but opened a new one: AFP now refuses to connect. I installed AFP using "sudo apt-get install netatalk".…

My Pi 3 works quite happily with keyboard and mouse connected to USB ports and the HDMI output connected to monitor via an HDMI -> VGA convertor. No problems. But I have 3 computers on my desk, so I want to cut down on peripherals and the plugging and unplugging thereof. So I got a KVM switch (DLink). My twolap tops work happily with this, and I can toggle between them as necessary. But when I connect the Pi up to the KVM switch it doesn't want to work. The power light comes on, but no video signal gets to the VGA monitor, and there is no indication that mouse and keyboard are doing anything useful. The switch keeps on working and I can toggle to either of the t…

Good morning all. My Raspberry Pi 4 is noisy, I am sure it is the cooling fan. Is it a simple procedure to replace it, and does anyone know the size/part number and where to get them from? And if I switch my Pi off will the solar system revert to the previous settings with the Axpert Inverters? If I could know I had the correct fan motor I am sure it will be a quick job.

Hi all So I've been using my own software for some time and it has been pretty much a hack job. I recently put in some work and got it so it is easy to install on a Raspberry Pi. It'll actually run on any operating system, but I really don't have time to test it everywhere. So if you are one of the souls that want to test it on another platform that would be greatly appreciated (along with what you had to do). I've written a very simple tutorial on how to get it running on an RPi. Everything is open source, so if you have questions let me know about that aspect. Why release this now? Because charging money for this prohibits better software from be…

Ever since I discovered that the Axpert has worthless state of charge(SOC) readings I have felt that with a bit of lateral thinking one could develop a reasonably accurate SOC from the battery amp readings that are readily available from the inverter. After all it does have an internal shunt and so should be able to give us some sense of SOC. I have been playing with data from Emoncms and this is the result. I include the feed from the BMV and the inverter's own SOC calculation for comparison. I am pleased with the result. The first thing I did was convert my battery bank Ah value into Ampseconds. I did this for two reasons: The handling of the data afte…

Hi guys. I really don't know what to think. I'm getting no support from ICC themselves. All I wanna do is make use of the Advanced Power Manager with Sonoffs or the home automation section of ICC or GPIO or whatever to control the pool and geyser. This morning I wake up to this email now..

Hi guys, are there any software alternatives to ICC for Raspberry Pi? The only control I need is to switch from Grid to Solar in the mornings and then back to grid in the afternoon, thus protecting my battery. ICC has this built-in as a function but it does not switch back at the set time in the afternoon My setup is as follows: 5 kVA Mecer (~Axpert - same thing) 12 x 320 W Solar panels (6 + 6 in parallel) 2.5 kWh Pylontech Lithium Ion Battery Maybe someone can help with simple code to run from the PI eg. at 08h00 to Solar and then at 16h00 to grid. Thats it - hope there is an answer out there

PHORAM DOWNLOAD HERE (In "files" Sector) PHORAM Discussion here First of all, I apologize for my English. I'm almost certain that it should work with some other models of Hybrid inverters but unfortunately I have no way to test them. The System Run Ok in Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8.0, 8.1 y 10. Finally, what is promised is debt. I share with all of you the First Version of PHORAM completely free of charge. Due to lack of time and unforeseen inconveniences, the publication was delayed more than planned, unfortunately I have not yet reached the end of the initial implementation of the relays board functions, for fear of possible errors …

Since I moved my system to grid tie - going the Victron ESS way - the one thing that I do not like is the fact that you have little control over the data at the vrm.victronenergy.com site. I know you can download the data but that is way too much effort for my liking . I have played with Emoncms , like the way they handle data for analysis and I did not want to use a R-pi or other device to upload the data to my Emon server so I decided to create a script that will upload the data directly to the emon server from my Color control. Keep in mind that I am fooling around . So please edit if you can find a way to do it better !! Here is the link : dBus-Emo…

Hey all, Been a while since I've posted anything on here, so I'm a little out of the "scene" so to speak. I've recently introduced myself to the wonderful world of Arduino, and I'm wondering if anyone has a quick guide for getting an Arduino to communicate with an Axpert? My axperts are of the old serial variety, so I'm assuming I'll need a RS232 shield.

Hi everyone, I'm pretty new to solar systems and even IoT but I want to help my dad with his solar system, I basically just want to setup something that can read some parameters from the inverter such as Battery Voltage, Amperage, Wattage from panels etc... and then send that to a computer where I can put the data in a application and display it. I'm thinking of using a Raspberry Pi or an Adruino, can anybody link some good documentation on how I would be able to accomplish this since I am new to IoT and even using things such as a Adriuno or Raspberry Pi. I have programming knowledge in quite a few languages, I just don't understand how to read the parameters from the in…

Has anyone have any experience in getting a VE.Can device running on the Pi version of VenusOS? I see that there are a few options here to connect CAN interfaces with the Pi. Anyone know if it works well and is worth the effort?

Morning, My solar setup is in our garage. However, cannot get ICC communicator to work. WiFi signal too weak. The plug-in extenders haven't worked for me, and got a quote to install Unifi extenders at R5000+ to run from garage to house router. Sounds crazy, anyone had to extend their WiFi and can maybe comment on whether quote is fair - appreciate that the running of network cable is dependent on distance between two points. Thanks, Jeroen

Hi, When I bought this inverter it came with a Raspberry and some cables and pieces probably to set up using a laptop. What will I require to do online monitoring through my cellphone? It took forever to get my Schneider online as the port forwarding and cell call centers seems to don’t what I needed. Now with the Schneider I can go online and setup or look at all trends. What nobody told me...........After the Port Forwarding (NIP.com )I needed a dedicated IP address. For using my Vodafone cell phone I had to send them a application forUnrestricted APN and a copy of my ID. Then all was sorted. If there was a easier way I surely missed it. Anyway it now works every …

Hello Everyone I have been MIA for a while but Covid 19 has slowed my solar business down and I have had a bit of extra time. I have finally put the finishing touches to my PV system and now have the control I have wanted for years. I have a 1.2kW pump that lifts water 185m up a mountain (in fact two mountains but that is not really relevant). I was running and controlling it with a Sonoff switch. It would run from 8h30 to 15h30 and I used my phone to switch it off if it looked like the weather was clouding over. My staff quarters is powered from my home and I would switch it off once SOC was roughly 50%. Just before Covid shutdown @PaulF007 v…
