Shockin Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 hi, trying to purchase a raspberry pi and software from icc software, placed an order and got a confirmation number but no way to pay? No bank details on their web page. Quote
ebrsa Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 @Shockin Just send Manie an email to the address on the website and explain your problem. He is sure to reply in no time. Also note the warning of no support if you do not buy software from ICC Software. Rclegg and SYC 2 Quote
Rclegg Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 Had the same issue. Sent Manie an email and all was resolved. Don’t buy it from anyone else. ibiza, Mark and wolfandy 3 Quote
wimsza Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Agree, although you can buy the Raspberry Pi from the PiShop for a lot cheaper. Manie sent me his banking details and the rest was easy. Be aware that if you go my route and download the ICC software from Manie, it will not connect to your inverter until you have entered the key that he will supply once you have installed the software on the Pi. So, order your Raspberry Pi, download (and pay for) your ICC software, install it on the Pi (you do need a 16GB microSD card - don't forget the adapter for your PC as well as Win32Disk Imager (download it from web) mail Manie the ICC-PI id and he will send you the unlock key. I'm wondering if I can move the software to a VM on my server instead - would be more convenient for me. I will check with Manie on this. Quote
ebrsa Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 @Shockin You will also need a Victron BMV700, BMV702 or BMV712 to supply accurate information about the battery status to ICC. The 702 haa a connection if you have 2 battery banks in parallel to detect imbalance and the 712 adds Bluetooth communications. You also need the BMV USB cable which is expensive lke the BMV and all Victron equipment. But then it is top of the ladder quality. If your inverter is a Voltronic or true clone, consider flashing it with @Coulomb and @weber 's outstanding improved firmware if available for your model. Be aware that there is always the possibility that you may brick your inverter. I have been fortunate that I have never had such a problem, having flashed my 2 Axperts and those of others many times. You could perhaps get it all going with a demo version of ICC and then get the final activation code after paying fot ICC. The demo ICC also requires an activation code from Manie. Quote

Krokkedil Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 I can promise you if you follow the right path you will be enlightened. Bought the software from Manie and he helped me to set it up on my Mecer inverter. It has paid for itself already in 6 months time Rclegg 1 Quote
