  1. How did you try replicate it? If your battery is 0.5c that is only 2.5kw of load. Maybe it tripped at 40% because you overloaded it
  2. How cold do your batteries get? They won't charge under a certain temperature.
  3. Thanks. Maybe it's better to just wire it into the grid port and not the load port. I don't want PV alone to try run things. So when there is LS then nothing runs
  4. Really? It will run on PV with no battery?
  5. I'm busy with my sunsynk 8kw install. My battery will still be a while but I can install panels so long. I'm going to wire my whole house to the load/ups output of the inverter. My question is will the inverter still use PV Watts while the grid is on if I use the load output with no battery?
  6. Can you run the sunsynk datalogger and solar assistant together?
  7. Do the 5kw not have built in fans like the 8kw?
  8. Chris_S posted a topic in Batteries

  9. Check your manual. On the 8kw sunsynk the CT should be connected to port 5/6 I'm sure it's the same on the 5kw
  10. Screen shot of new options please
  11. Baud rate must be the 19 thousand odd setting so it doesn't time out
  12. Taking your 3 parameters into consideration I like Shoto
  13. Chris_S replied to NeilJ's topic in Batteries
Shoto uses seplos BMS that can communicate to the inverter via RS485 unless Shoto have their own software that disables this.
  14. If you charging to 3.45V for example after absorption at that voltage they should be allowed to drop naturally to 3.3V it does not affect your SOC. There's a good video on off grid garage about absorption and float.
  15. Lithium-cells.co.za have told me that they will have stock of the 230ah cells this week if anyone is looking. I haven't bought from them before. Just thought I would mention it here.
  16. Is your float voltage not set too high? Lithium cells normally float around 3.35V
  17. Does the JBD not communicate via SA to your inverter so you can set the battery as lithium?
  18. So your BMS connects to SA via RS485 to usb and then SA connects to inverter via sunsynk WiFi dongle? Do you mind showing a pic of your inverter battery settings?
  19. Can you set absorption time on your inverter using voltage?
  20. Do you run the active balancer permanently or can that BMS switch it on after a certain voltage?
  21. There are mecer inverters now with a lithium setting and a small mppt. Have you considered selling this inverter and looking at a newer mecer
