  1. You can still make use on something like ICC/Solarassistant to read and chat to both but yeah inverter's pretty "dumb" comparatively
  2. Does your Sunpolo have a Lithium mode under Program 05? (The 5kw models don't afaik) I ask because the Manual I find only specifies AGM/Flooded and User-defined which would make comms likely redundant Or do you have the newer 6/8Kw model?
  3. Things that affect this answer: Time of day Season Angle of Roof Facing of panels Availability of roof space Dedicated charging or Usage(what is your latent power consumption) + charge Battery C Rating And lastly Budget
  4. Communica lists as in stock: https://www.communica.co.za/products/batt-12-8v200-li-mcr
  5. Big issue with Lithium (in future if not currently) is the limited number of sources and the toxic process to mine it
  6. Probably 3-4k on the inverter Batteries is a challenge as it depends on the cycles and DOD how useable they still will be
  7. For the average user - no For the intermediate user - kind of,if you match the cells and chemistry For the advanced user - yes
  8. Oh my I never realized there isn't one This is my default extension everywhere: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/dark-reader/eimadpbcbfnmbkopoojfekhnkhdbieeh?hl=en
  9. "effectively" how?
  10. Yep,generally the clone cables have a disk or point to their website for a "classic" driver that doesn't break functionality
  11. Protecting their IP Rights is within their ambit, though imagine what all the clone/copy Voltronic units would do and cause chaos if they self-bricked on update🤣
  12. It will show up at best and not provide useable data,if you check the link you'll note the copy protection does anything between sending junk data to just disabling Very insidious
  13. The copy protection disables the devices after installation with a "error occurred with the hardware" Example: https://www.techrepublic.com/article/ftdi-abuses-windows-update-pushing-driver-that-breaks-counterfeit-chips/
  14. You might have a "fake" cable and need to install a driver manually (the newer drivers have some fake-detection to prevent use)
  15. Are you running it directly from the zip file? Extract everything to a folder first
  16. How is this set up? Using Aux with a watt limit set up and Gen Charge enabled in your Time of use settings?
  17. Also that looks like the 48v nenergy,not a 24v
  18. Hell,at that price post-paid i'd pick one up for my family I mean the Battery retail is ~13k Inverter ~9k
  19. Dead cells - voltage drop at load and *ded*
  20. There are some losses and inefficiencies in many inverters,a little over 10% doesn't look farfetched based on experience
  21. PsyWulf replied to zsde's topic in Batteries
Nope, though I probably will next time i'm feeling bored
  22. You get High/Low voltage timer reset breakers that can "delay" returning after any voltage anomaly
