  1. Only saw this reply now It's entirely probable that it's a "pirate" cable with a blocked driver
  2. Yes,you get 2 types - the variable one being more pricey because it adjusts based on the input water temp
  3. I would get a Variable Gas Water Heater that can just top up to a set point as needed based on the temperature out of the electric geyser
  4. Was it a cheapshit Inverter? Backfeeding current?
  5. *Theoretically* it should as it's Grid-tied if it's not too iffy about its grid-source
  6. There is,location, price spec and cycle counts help sales immensely
  7. I also had my SA install implode after a year or 2,reload runs miles faster
  8. USB -> RS232 Cable and you can pull it from the battery directly using something like PBMSTools
  9. Please add the cycle count as it helps with battery sales
  10. Instant or near-as is actually better as you avoid surging currents - as long as you don't overload the source
  11. If it's a secondary residence - Gas primary for Water heating and cooking, backup electrical options off the Solar As primary i'd still add both, but change it around a bit to cut costs, more initial capital outlay for longterm savings
  12. An AC Changeover where the "priority" loads have 2 alternate feed-ins does sound easier indeed
  13. Only 64bit yes
  14. Mostly Inductive current can exceed the load-rating you think a device is supposed to have and Trip the inverter Had a client that always had trips when their old central aircon came on - even though the rated current was below their aggregate limit, the inrush when it switched on was about Double
  15. You might want to draw some pictures
  16. Had 1 of my second hand units get a bad cell, repaired under warranty. 2 Weeks from Drop-off at Gauteng center to Cape Town and back. Not bad
  17. Location for those that might be interested?
  18. Maybe,I've seen nobody mention that it locks the Web Interface too
  19. Local Password also adds a password field when you log into the local web interface on the LAN
  20. So you're using Type D plugs,interesting idea (India,Sri Lanka)
  21. Unencrypted filesystems are usually not protected from physical attacks, like Rooting a phone using ADB
  22. Did you test reaching the local IP interface during the "internet connection" outage? You can access SA unauthenticated through the local IP of the PI
  23. PsyWulf replied to morey_b's topic in Lighting
The correct answer here is how technical are you Because there are "smart" IOT ways and there are engineery-manual ways
  24. Luxpower no doubt. More value and savings for your use-case by a big margin
