  20. Nice!! I was actually eyeing one of this inverters still sealed in it's box last month.
  21. Jip, same story this side. Had to pay school fees to learn the hard way. Rather save and buy the better option.
  22. @BobsterInteresting thing, with the power blackouts in Feb, my main power and earth keep tripping in my house, and outside on the main box. i even started to develop a funny sound on the usb side of my laptop when connect to my high end audio DAC. We stay in a estate that's about 5 years old and i'm part of trustees so i have keys to all the stuff in the estate. On hot days my power keeps tripping and I cant find the problem. So one late evening we have a blackout again and after the power go's on, my next door neighbour come asking if our power is on and his power is off and can't get it on. Same story like mine the week before, so i open the main power box in the street and his main switch is trip off. Switch it on and everything is working. Next day, warm day again, mine trips and his trips, so we get PEC out that they must come check the prepaid controllers to replace it for us because we think with the power out and spikes that got nailed maybe, and this what we found: Jip, 80 amp switch rousted on my next door neighbour side that's give us problems. Got the sparky out to come replace it. The sparky showed me how loos the connection is on everyone main trip switches. A week later another house around the corner the same problem. I arrange that week that they must come do inspection on every main box in the estate and to tight up all connections and replace stuff. After this, problem solved.
  23. @plonkster thanks for checking. We stay close to power transfer station 33°54'20.4"S 18°41'08.5"E so supply is close-by. When i have my Bridge unit to connect to the inverter, then i can pull better stats to check. On the second part, Jip, it's like you mention, some people by in smaller amounts, but funny part is, some people say they even close to between R1500 and R2500 a month. We 2 people and my average for the month is R400, and my solar isn't even up and running yet. On the last part, it will actually be interesting to do a proper test to see what happens if you drop the voltage on a prepaid and test the outcome of it.
