  1. @ebrsa https://lithiumbatteriessa.co.za
  2. @ebrsa i got my lifepo4s from Lithium south africa. Local guy up in JHB that imports 120amp cells. Cost met R15500 for 16 cells with shipping to cape town. His new shipping of cells is landing middel of this month.
  3. Sounds like me watering the next door guys garden with my wellpoint and solar while they on holliday . Hehehehe
  4. @JJS where are you based in cape town side because i'm in cape town side. I will keep the 2 microcare units and just link them together because they can run max 20 amps ac if i'm correct per unit. They can perform at 200% if you add grid to assist the extra load, this if you planning to run the hall house excluding the guyser and stove. The second hand mark per unit is between R6000 and R15000, depends how new it is and if it's got a service record and the coms unit in it.
  5. @JJS let me know when you planning to sell the 60 mppt. I'm looking for one more for my setup.
  6. I will keep them and just get the battery monitor and cable links from microcare that connect the the mppt to the inverter and batteries. The Setsolar is a rebrand Microcare yes. I got 60amp one like this and then a Microcare one to. They look all the same inside. On this part. You can run max 150v on it and max 3000 watt solar and max 60 amps supply. I will recommend that you get 2 or 3 of them because i spotted that you quickly can run out of that amp supply. Switching in a kettle can pull 40 amps super fast out of it. Other option is to go for the 100amp ones but 2 of them. They really good units. On the lithium part, bluenova batteries can work with this units or some other brands that got a higher charge rate then Pylontech batteries. That's why i went the DIY root with Lifepo4s for my setup with its own BMS.
  7. He is using Batrium in this build.
  8. I placed a order for this one https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33014476298.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.57a94c4d960RPl 300amp with screen and i order 4 of them https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32995053686.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.57a94c4d960RPl
  9. @MYBRIDH local brand MLT
  10. Hahahaha!! einste!!! They got mos a other saying in Afr "Cheap koop is.............."
  11. Buy ones expensive and never look back. How did the one place say, "Axpert, hhhhmmmm cheap power". Buy something that can perform and work and that you have local backup. I had axpert/clone stuff and lasted 2 months, not even installed it on the wall yet. Went for local brand and super happy.
  12. Go Youtube Bluenova and go check the video where they open one of that Super caps systems that is selling in SA. I will not spend my money on that if it looks so bad inside.

Jip, and so the fun begins and see what our systems can do. Looks like my GeyserWize Max control board took a hit Friday, Pump don't want to pump. open the unit and smell some magic smoky stuff.
  14. Jip. Pick it up the the last 5 months. Keep n closer eye, you will see even more of it. My mlt inverter contacter go's crazy sometime because it go's low or high and the volts drops sometimes to.
  15. @PJJ It actually went really fast because he was waiting for his shipment to arrive. This cargo must come via ship. All 272 batteries went really fast. There some guys on the forum that ordered and there was on guy up in JHB that order 110 of them to put 90 of them in to T2 Combi. His planning to order 700 now because there some guys that want to use them in golfcart's and his planning to test in a forklift. Give him a call. He is really nice and i think it's a good time to support someone like this, because there is a gap in south africa market for this sort of stuff for DIY.
  16. I'm going to build a power wall for my off grid inverter setup at my house. If everything works really good then i will order some more to build a second wall or a third wall unit.
  17. @Richard Mackay You can speak to the seller, his got a web site and his name is there. Really nice chap.
  18. Got my Lifepo4 batteries today. Keep a eye for my diy build.
  19. here is one more: http://chargery.com/BMS8T.asp
  20. @plonkster i spotted this ones from Alixpress, they got contactor control and comms: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000392995656.html?spm=a2g0s.8937460.0.0.12802e0eonPpU4 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000002462799.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.689654a6fHDQuB&algo_pvid=ea109101-261b-4e70-a78d-0cf3001fa208&algo_expid=ea109101-261b-4e70-a78d-0cf3001fa208-8&btsid=22e0be06-caf4-4543-97e4-72dc940c224f&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_7,searchweb201603_53 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32998117161.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.1000013.7.2d0246f0KvQvgf&gps-id=pcDetailBottomMoreThisSeller&scm=1007.13339.146401.0&scm_id=1007.13339.146401.0&scm-url=1007.13339.146401.0&pvid=aafeed2e-d014-4876-ae6b-96c5039bdfde
  21. My order of 16 x 120amp Lifepo4 batteries have arrived the morning in Cape Town, just need to go collect it. Waiting for my BMS's to arrive from overseas. Order balancers that can do top end ballancing and a BMS that got Over voltage and under voltage cutoff with it's own balancing to. I'm waiting on a price for a Orion jr BMS.
  22. Best is to go google BMS and go check youtube. there some guys that are testing them and putting them fro the pace to see what they can do. There some nice Chinese BMS that can do a lot of stuff actually, like running Bluetooth apps and Coms and there is even some of them that can operate contacters that can help allot. Some of them have cell balancing to. This past few days a did a lot of reading up and checking what option there is.
  23. Nice one @Sean !!!!! that can work!!!! You guys in the State site is lucky to get your hands on this sort of batteries. Me and my one friend is is on the hunt to drive in to a Leaf car that they can write it off so that we can get the batteries!!! hahahahahah!!!!
  24. Thanks @Coulomb I founded this post yesterday. You guys did a great job there. Do you still have some of the boards and stuff?
  25. I spotted some of the guys on the group have build there own lithium/LifePo4 battery setups. I'm busy looking down this rabbit hall to do my own setup to and looks really nice because there is a lot of options. The guys that have played with this sort of stuff, share a bit of your knowledge and findings/experience and DIY photos please and what sort of BMS you using. I Spotted that @Coulomb actually have build his own BMS with someone a few years ago.
