The bms uses rs485 to communicate to the screen. There is some forums that that gives info. To get it connect to Victron, you need to find out from Plonkster if there is a way.

MPPT Generation and Actuall Charging
@JJS glad i can help. @jykenmynie it's a Micorcare system. 5kw inverter with 60a Microcare MPPT with 16s2p Lifepo4 setup with Smart Ant BMS. With this Mppts you run 3s3p setup because the max 150v and max 3000w. Nothing wrong with his array. It makes helse lot of power, more then me in winter and mine is close to his size of array, his roof angle is just rite. Problem is, the mppt generates close to avg of 13 to 15kwh/24h, but there is a lost somewhere because it doesn't calculate/add up correctly the ah that go's in to the battery "the bms got it's own shunt setup that can show that info", and the power the house use. We pick up that the Mppt DC side of the battery shows different volt on the display and if you put a multi meter on it shows +- 0.3 / 0.4 difference on the mppt. Same with my 2 mppt's . The Setsolar "Microcare" shows 0.3v difference to my new Microcare 60 mppt. With my setup there is a bit of lost to but not like his. We think somewhere is a lost in the cable setup between the mppt and batteries or the MPPT is massive out with kwh calculation.

@hjr best is to contact Bain on his contact number. Jip, its cheap if you work out to the per ah in USD, but add the shipping to it and you can call me again He did import 150ah but the manufacturing company stop making because the demand is to low with the covid going on. On the DoD, you can use a Victron BMV to check it, or you can get a Smart ant BMS like i'm using and some other guys on the forum that give you all the info. If you got a bit of python skills for a Pi, then you can pull the data from the BMS and export it.

I had the opportunity to visit them. The owner invited me over to come see how they build and test there stuff. Really cool place and really state of the art equipment they use. Had a lekker laugh to at the fun stuff they build on the side line for them self.

@Wick i already got the python script. It just needs to be loaded on a pi and run via Node-red to Grafana. Let me know if you need it. I need someone toe help me with it to get it up and running on a pi. Shipping you can do via Scotts shipping. This order we did in Level 4 lockdown. Worked out about R2100 per bms with customs and everthing and was hand delivered in our hands.

The smart123 bms is nice. BLUENOVA strated to use them rite in the beginning with there units, and then they started to build inhouse. Hidden info in the smart123 bms, you need to buy the extra units. They only sell 4 sell controllers with the controller. You need extra 12 of them. Batrium bms the same storie. Orion bms the same storie. They all over R7500 plus if you import your self. The Smart ANT bms is cheap. My first one cost me R1450 with courier shipping that took a bit longer. Thats a 20s bms 300amp. My second one was R1150, still waiting for after close to 4 months. Thats a 16s 320amp. Just as they shipped that one we went in to lock down. It's on it's way and tracking showing it's at JHB hub. 3de bms i order with a friend where we placed 4 in order with local Scottshipping and cost me R2050 and it was here in 3 weeks in the lock down time. Thats a 16s 320amp to. I'm just waiting for the lockdown to clam down, then I'm pulling a programmer closer to help with python script on a Pi to run all the data and stuff via pi to Grafana. Got all the stuff for this.

The Dali don't really do active ballancing. It only balance top end when it hits a sell that runs away. With Ant BMS, it can balance when there is no charge and no discharging, basically just standing, then it ballance. When you charging under 10amps, then it starts ballancing. When it gets fully charge and there is a sell that hits the top end volts that i adjusted on the bms, then it start shifting power arround the sells. It moves about 200ma arround. The BMs shows Cell Difference Ballancing then. What i did was, i fully charged the unit, then disconnect the inverter and left the bms doing it's job while we where away for holliday. Came back, connect the inverter and adjust it to run 5amps charge and left it. After that the sells run way stable. With 2nd set it was really easy. Leafing them for 4 months help alot. Bit it's handy to havea bench charger. I got a 6 amp charger that you can adjust for different tipes of batteries. Where did you buy your bench charger.

Just as I sending mt msg the server went bbbbbblllaaaa. Server offline. Hahhaha Jip. I had the same story. My first set of sells wasn't all the same SOC. I got them sorted the other day by leaving them for 10 days on bms ballancing and then charge them for 2 days at 5 amps that it can active balance all the sells. That help allot. My second set i connected last week where standing for 4 months connected parallel waiting for there bms. They are dead on in SOC. That helped alot. I'm running a Smart Ant BMS that i check all the stuff via it's screen and i can connect to the bms via Bluetooth and adjust all the settings and check what the bms is doing. It works super nice and even Revov is using them on there 24v units. I will drop you a PM.

@igg just a tip, and take it form me. We already did the test on victron with all add-ons on the same batteries and if you using a Daly bms. Bulk charge 54.6v and float 53.6v. If you going to go over 55v you going to start get ripple warnings and errors spikes when the batteries getting full and the bms FITs cuts the charge. Got all the photos of it. My system is running the same settings for over 5 months on the same lifepo4s and it's working. I adjusted the setting the other day just to check what it will do with a higher charge and the inverter when crazy because the mppt don't no what dc volts it must charge when the bms FITs close the charging part. Solar MD runs the same charging volts on there units.

If you take it with the screen option, then you don't have to start it that way. The screen connects to the 51.5v output part of the battery "well from 3.5v to 96v " and the screen switches the bms on when the screen gets power. You can switch the screen off and the bms stays on, till you unplug the ballancing leads, then it switches the bms off.

Other option is to get a Smart Ant BMS. I'm using them in my setup and they work really good, you get info via the screens and you can connect to it via your phone and adjust all the settings on the BMS. There is n Python script that you can use to connect the BMS via pi to get data and stuff.

@Nick the Daly bms works OK. What Size lifepo4s is it? The trick with this stuff is, don't push all the charging volts in to it. Take it from me. We already tested it and know. The victron is going to give you errors and mppt spikes. Someone off forum is running a full victron setup with a Daly BMS and lifepo4s and he started getting ripple warning and errors because of charging at 56v over. He adjustes his victron to my settings and so far everything running stable now. Run bulk charge at 54.6v and float at 53.6v. The BMV will help the mppt and inverter when to stop. Just remember to adjust the Peukert Factor to 1.05. The BMV is design for lead acid so you need to adjust that part.

Soft hair broom, extend with extra broom handle with piece of pipe in the middle, and if you got rain water in storage, then you sorted. Late afternoon when the sun isn't warm anymore, then you start washing them. I wash mine when i see there some dust on them.

Hhhmmmm guess what i will be doing today. Got a second 60a mppt the other day. So i need to check this one to see if something like this is in there. My setsolar one don't have one and still got the old Pic software on so no data on the serial side. Then i got a 3de one that i need to send in. It's dead, got it like that. Open it and tested and there is 12v power but the screen don't switch on, but funny thing. I spotted this now with the photo plonkster marked out. Mine got linear voltage regulator nummer 4 but not number 5 like yours. Hhhhmmmm. I need to send this mppt in so that they can replace the board under the screen. Spoke to Wouter last year about it.

Stanley. You can say that again!!!!! Glad i was there to keep a eye. They got mos a saying in Afrikaans " moet nie krap waar dit nie jik nie". Back to my old settings and everything works super again. I still want slap something together with a high volt dc contactor that cuts the PV side. I think with the second lifepo4 bank in will help with this sort of stuff if one bms drop, then second bank is there to help. Plans is to 3 Lifepo4 banks.

Hhhhmmmmmm wel, they fix that one problem if someone drop the battery side of the trip switch but still didn't fix that other problem. Me and TTT was busy testing settings for lifepo4 charging, so moving my balk charge from 54.6v to 56.7v. Hohooooo!!!! When the batteries got full the bms stop the charge and then mppt went like crazy. It started to ramp up the volts because it cant se the battery volts. Sounded like electrical fense igniter unit and then the safety kicks in. Over and over. Likely i was standing and watching the mppt. I immediately went back to my old settings that i know is working for more then 5 months now. I spotted it on my graphs to. TTT had the same problem, he gets errors and you can see the spike of 62v. So he started to use the same settings then me. Problem solved. I see Walter post n new video of there new mppts thats using a plug that connects to the mppt. I guess they running something now that connects to the dry contact in the lithium unit to inform the mppt to do stuff. @Solaris did Microcare installed it for you or did they send you they add in board and price of it?

I spotted on the board a input on the left of screw downs and it looks like maybe output on the right. So i guess the wire that go's from the "trip" switch ""jip""" trip switch to the board will go via this new board and the ribbon cable maybe on the mppt board moved to the new board and then from there back to the mppt board. I think i need to drop Walter a mail and find out. But yes, like Plokster says, that design with the two switches is a bit of simpel one. Quick way to make magic smoke.
