  1. Sorry to hassle you @Chris_S just a reminder for your battery parameter file just so I can see what changes you made.
  2. So logged a ticket with SunSynk and asked them if this was a firmware issue and if it was to revert to the previous version. I don't think it was done, but this morning back to the "normal" display colors???
  3. Has anybody with a 5kw SunSynk got the Version: M.3.3.8.6/S 1.5.1.5/CE.4.3.7? Since this update my screen is a blue color.
  4. @Chris_S please could you send me your Seplos V2 10E parameter file, I would like to try it and see.
  5. Yes same just used a standard network cable, thanks.
  6. Do you think it is a firmware issue as it happened after an update?
  7. I woke up this morning to a like blue/purple screen on my few days old SunSynk 5kw inverter. Why has the colour changed? If you can change it where would I do this. I think they upgraded the firmware last night or early this morning.
  8. Has anybody got a SunSynk inverter connected to a DIY battery, on the SunSynk registration page they ask for the serial number of the battery. What do I put there as I don't have a serial number?
  9. Hi @Chris_S 5Kw SunSynk. I have a downloaded manual but don't seem to find the pinouts. I might have downloaded the wrong version? This is what I found for the BMS side picture below. For the inverter I found a Segen Solar training manual CAN Pin 1: CAN-H Pin 5: CAN-L Pin 8: GND
  10. Does anybody have the pinouts for the inverter side and the battery side for the CAN cable from the battery BMS to the inverter? Thanks
  11. Hi, please can someone who has the same setup give me the cable pinout for the BMS side and the inverter side to connect the BMS to the SunSynk 5Kw inverter for CAN battery communication. Thank you
  12. Strange thing the App connected with username admin and no password, the pc software logged in with username admin and password admin? Does anybody have the settings for the Apexium/Seplos V2 10E settings they using with the SunSynk inverter maybe can share the settings with me.
  13. I managed to connect via the 485 cable but when I try the app, it says please click right top button to edit but there is no buttons besides login
  14. Thanks @Scorp007 I will have to go through all that, battery is alive. What I wanted to ask is do you have this BMS and if so how do you connect to the Bluetooth I am using the BMS app but it keeps saying "Please click the right top button to edit" but there is no right top button.
  15. Hi @Scorp007 Thanks for the reply, I managed to find a YouTube video of a guy building a battery with the same BMS, at around 5min into the video he confirms what I have measured and says it is correct. For any DIY battery builders this guys channel is very good.
  16. Just wanted to ask, I am busy testing the voltages on the Seplos V2 10E bms to make sure I have connected it correctly. I measure on the black clip first black wire and move across, it increases by +_ 3.2v per pin which is correct, then I move across to the white pin, I keep my meter's lead on the white pin first black pin and I measure the first black pin on the white clip and it shows like 26v, is that correct as they basically both negative terminals, the first black pin connect to the main negative of the pack, the first black pin of the white cable connects to the negative of cell 9?
  17. Hi I have my own equipment and panels and mounting for the 8 Panels, I am looking for a qualified and reputable installer to give me a quote to install 5kw SunSynk inverter, 8 new panels and moving 4 existing panels to another section of the roof. I have the DC protection box, AC protection box a DIY battery. Please PM me and we can setup a site visit. Many thanks
  18. Hi, you could get away with just 1 of the Svolts as that is 24v battery, the second option you need 2 as they are 12v but you going to get more runtime on the second option but at more cost. I would go the first option and see if it last for your needs, you could add at a later stage if need be. You might be fine with just 1.
  19. Would like to know what BMS they use in this brand?

Thanks @Kalahari Meerkat I probably should not have bought it, but wanted to be extra carful with my first DIY battery. I have it now so might as well use it. My thinking was also, if I am not available and the battery for some reason needs to be turned off I can get my wife or son to just turn the breaker off.
  21. would go 48v from the start it just allows more growth in the future. If you going to build your system over time then the Victron is a great system but more expensive. If you going PV panels and battery right from the start, then the hybrid inverter is great.
  22. I am looking at doing 8x 550w Jinko's on 1 string, they face NE and the open circuit voltage will be 396.8v. I am in Durban and the coldest it gets here is 11 degrees so should be okay. If your temperatures goes close to 0 then you might need to look at 6 or max 7 panels. I currently have 4 x 450w panels on a micro inverter VOC is 49.1v and the maximum they get to is 42.3v and these are where the 8x 550w panels will go. I also think if you face them North you have to cut down on the number of panels.

I was worried it is not bi-directional as it shows line on top and load at the bottom. I did ask @TaliaB and has confirmed that it should be bi-directional. So might take the sale down and try it.

  25. I have bought this DC MCCB and wanted to ask,it has a line and a load side but I wanted to use it as a protection device and an isolator for my DIY battery. What I am worried about is is this bi-directional, can the inverter back feed (charge) the battery from the load side to the line side on this device? https://www.robotics.org.za/XM1-250PV-2P EDIT: I found this drawing on another site with this model
