  1. Just wanted to ask I have bought 8 Jinko 550w panels and wanted to install these on a 5Kw SunSynk inverter, I am in Durban so don't get very cold temperatures. Should this be okay? Looking at about 49.9v x 8 =399.2v then factor in say +_10 % - 439..12v is that a safe enough margin or shoud I drop 1 panel off, they all going to face East for now on 1 MPTT, then going to do the same on the West side later.
  2. This quote does not include the courier to Durban, so I would still have to add that. This shipping is the cost to get it "to" JHB warehouse as far as I am aware.
  3. So is the quote I received a good price, I still wonder about the shipping charge as other have it for about half that?
  4. Yes it was
  5. @DV8 are you able to order them built already? Where did you get this pricing. Thanks
  6. Hi Jeeva I got a quote for the 16 x 280AH cells + Apexium DIY Box and cables from battery to inverter was $2070 then shipping was quoted $360 (not sure why so much), then $100 transaction fee??? I think the shipping is to much unless it is because of the DIY box?? What do you guys use if you don't get the DIY box?
  7. I also remember someone saying that they keep setting the geyser to turn on every 15 min between the 2 times. That way if you miss the first one it will turn on again within 15min.
  8. Problem now is it does not fit on my printer bed, need to split it.
  9. Stupid me I kept searching for SunSynk and only found the 8Kw nice find thank you very much.
  10. Hi, yes I found those and those were designed for the 8Kw but maybe I can use something from them. I can't find anything specific for the 5Kw.
  11. Has anybody designed a 5Kw fan housing of some sort. I have a 3D printer but have no design skill at all and normally get all my prints from Thingiverse. I could maybe take the design the guys are using on the 8KW and see how to mount that?
  12. Hi, I wanted to ask if it is possible to parallel 2 x 5kw SunSynk inverters using a single battery, I am just doing some research as I wanted to build my own Apexium battery (+_14KWh). Would the battery be connected to a busbar and then to both inverters or only to the master inverter? Is this the best way to do it or should you rather have 2 smaller capacity batteries and connect 1 battery to each inverter. Thanks
  13. Thanks Steve87, was looking to get a 5Kw SunSynk from them.
  14. I just wanted to ask if Centurion Solar is a legit seller of SunSynk inverters, anybody bought from them all good to buy and any warranty issues.
  15. Hi @RavRabbit Just wanted to ask where you bought your SVolt batteries from, so many scam sites and would prefer to buy from where someone else has bought and is happy.
  16. Hi @MightyDee just wanted to ask where you bought your SVolt battery, with so many scam sites it is better to buy where someone else has bought and is happy with the service.
  17. I remember reading somewhere that this was a misprint or it was meant to be on the 3 phase inverter or something like that. They even had it printed in some of the old manuals for the 8Kw unit
  18. Where do you guys get your cells and other equipment locally. I don't want to deal with Alibaba and Aliexpress would only buy from someone local who has sold to a few people on this forum.
  19. Okay, also don't you need all the charging and balancing equipment if you build your own battery? Would be a nice project.
  20. What would a total build like this cost, including a BMS and a battery case which houses the cells and all the busbars etc. Lets say either (230AH or 280AH cells x 16) and a BMS compatible with SunSynk 5Kw inverter.
  21. How are you finding the Greenrich batteries, you happy with them, also looking at these.
  22. Thanks for the feedback @Steve87 and @GreenFields, I was also thinking of adding them to the essentials DB as this would keep the micro-inverters running during load shedding. @Steve87 I saw a video of Keith saying that if it is a grid tied system it wont do the frequency shift as it has to sync with the grid. Also when you say you have to "configure" the SunSynk what settings should I be setting. Will the SunSynk be able to supply the loads directly if connected to the Aux port? Here is an example of my micro-inverters output for a day, production this day was 14.95Kw
  23. Hi I wanted to find out if this is possible with the SunSynk inverters. I have 2 microinverters, 1.5Kw and a 1.2Kw which are currently working. I want to install a 5Kw SunSynk inverter, but I would like to use the microinverters to either feed the essentials or non-essential loads. So I know you can connect micro-inverters via the aux port but from what I understand is this will only help charge the battery (I might be wrong). What I was thinking of doing is connecting the micro-inverters directly to the DB's. I am just not sure how this will effect the SunSynk inverter. If anybody has doe this or knows if this will work please let me know.
  24. Are you happy with your Am 5 @JayMardern? How long have you had it and any issues? I am looking at the BSLBatt and maybe the Greenrich(not sure of this one).
  25. Hi @Carl Anthony with your settings above, does the State of charge being 50% for the 24 hour time period not limit it to 50%, would solar still charge the battery past the 50% mark if available. Just trying to understand how this work mode timer works?
