New RCT Axpert VMIII / Dyness B4850 communication error (fault code 61)
Hi, As far as I know, Dyness is pretty much the same as Pylontech as they split off from Pylontech. Can you maybe post a picture of the ports you are using on the batteries? Error 61 is basically communication error, just set 05 back to USE for now. What settings did the dealer suggest for 02, 12, 13, 26, 27 and 29? These will just be setup manually without the communication cable. When the communication cable are sorted out, those settings will happen automatically.

Axpert King Inverter Firmware
That micro USB stick I have might also work then, through the USB port.

Axpert King Inverter Firmware
Ok, ow the male and female serial ports make sense with the RS232 cable.

Axpert King Inverter Firmware
Hi @Coulomb How was it done with “This is the one I bought second time round. And it worked perfectly. https://www.takealot.com/trendnet-usb-to-serial-converter/PLID29271821” this cable? The cable I got in the box is a RS232 on one side and a female serial on the other, can’t even plug it into my laptop as the laptop has female as well I believe, will check it again though. Will also check The manual again if I can do it via the USB port on the inverter.

Booster pump and tank
I am also looking into this, getting at least a 5000 liter tank for backup, want to basically have the municipality water circulate everyday and just have this for backup if and when the water is gone. Problem is, you have no idea or warning if the water is not coming to your house like an inverter telling you the grid is gone. Unfortunately 5000 liter of water will only last my household 2 days if they don’t work sparingly, could extend that to 4-5 days if we know the water is cutoff. I am looking into capturing rainwater only for garden use. Basically store now and use later in the week. Also looking into capturing “grey water” (from basin’s, bath tubs and/or shower) to use for the toilets. I really don’t want to store grey water, it must immediately go, but to figure out how many grey water we might produce is another story. Then the other option is a 2000 liter tank for swimming pool backwash water recycling, back to your swimming pool. A friend of mine already did the swimming pool one and the municipality “battery”, I need to visit him to see his setup as well.

Axpert King Inverter Firmware
I have something like this and hope it might work. I don’t know if I have a spare rs232 spot on my inverter, communication between inverters are plugged into those in the parallel cards, did not check yet for another available port.

Only those 2, nothing else.

Booster pump and tank
There are, go to browse, forums, then check out “water heating & pumping” some good ideas there. It is also the next thing I am looking into. It is on this forum. seems I can’t share links, search for this rainwater-home-supply-assembly, pump, tanks etc

What type of Solar Geyser?
If it was me, I would add whatever solar geyser you are installing in series with your old geyser, if possible. Just feed the old geyser with warm water, pretty soon you would have double your hot water capacity and the sun will warm the water for you without most probably using any power for your geyser form Eskom. I just don’t know if the solar geyser will have the water too hot for the old electrical geyser. I guess there are ways to overcome overheating of water. Could probably burst the old geyser if the water is too hot.

Hail Damage
It is a fixture to you buildings, thus it should be covered under your normal property insurance, I informed my insurer of the addition and she said it don’t even increase my premium. My panels are fixed with a non-theft bracket, need a special tool to get them out or you either break the bracket or panel. I believe those panels are pretty robust, unless you get cricket ball size hail I am however busy putting each and every item together with serial numbers and pictures that I will send my insurer so that they have it on record, just so they can’t come back later and say that I did not have the items.

Yes, your cable or settings is incorrect, just change setting 05 back to USE until you can resolve the cable setup.

Axpert King Inverter Firmware
For those who still struggle, received a mail from Pylontech: 1. inverter pin: RS485B——3, RS485A——5 battery pin: RS485B——8, RS485A——7 2. Connect to Master battery RS485 port, RS485 baud rate 9600 the ADD setting for baud rate 9600 shall be “1000” (default is “0000) (master battery) 3. section reference numbers from the 05 - battery type: “USE” or “PYL” (have to be PYL in my opinion) 4. set low dc cut-off voltage: 47,5v or 48v (won’t matter if the communication works as 02, 12, 13, 26, 27, 29 become self regulated by the batteries) 5. after turning off the inverter manually, all batteries shall be shut down and restarted The above is for the Axpert VMIII / KING 48V/5KW inverters.

I wish someone with two of these inverters in parallel would be brave enough to do this before I try it lol

My second stab at this.
It look so neat and tidy, I just love those batteries. May you have many cycles

Phocos Inverter and Pylontech Battery
Hi, Even the Axpert inverters are way off with SOC determination. What are your settings currently... back to grid/back to battery/bulk and float charge and cut-off. Do you have any way of monitoring? Why I am asking, if not enough PV they should switch and charge from grid between 30-20% SOC. When PV kick in they will charge as long as there are PV available, but will not charge from grid if above the 30-20% as I mentioned above. The batteries should manage themselves even when not communicating with a RS485 cable. I found that they can hover at 48V for a very long time (around 2-3 hours maybe more, depending on load).

Faulty Solar Panel
Luckily my combiner boxes on the roof are marked clearly, had a switch tripped on panel 7 and 8. Loose wiring. Fixed everything and cleaned the panels while I was on the roof. Arrays produce much closer to each other again. Luckily it was an easy find. All panels checked and everything within specs.

I laugh at myself plenty times a day, if I made you laugh, I have completed my daily task for the day LOL. At least I am learning something new everyday

Faulty Solar Panel
It is apparently quite easy, will just take a bit of time. At least it is narrowed down already

Fire protection for batteries
These days it seem that people are getting more irresponsible regarding safety. Hence all the laws that make you feel like the country is ran like a pre-school. Every owner should research safety issues and implement them themselves instead of relying on other people. The installer should at least mention the pro’s and con’s and at least inform the owner of the potential problems that may occur. I have a fire extinguisher which I bought a couple years ago, doubt it if it will still work, guess it is time for new one/s.

Rotating batteries
Same with the top and bottom bricks in lithium ion battery banks. I would do this, but it might be my slight OCD kicking in

Faulty Solar Panel
Is it possible to test panels? I need to find out if a panel or two in an array is faulty. Also, how do I go about testing them, I don’t have the special equipment installers sometimes have. Thank you

Pool Pump is too powerful.
Seems like you have some water spouts that is not on, maybe they previously worked hence the strong pump
