What do you mean by "eletricity meters"? Voltmeters? Ammeters? Ohmmeters? Kilowatt hour meters? Anything else? You still do get all of the above in analog.

I might be mistaken, but as I understood they are used on UPS installations and/or for computer and other equipment, usually double-isolated equipment which do not require and earth. I might be wrong here, but what I tried to explain is that most people installing these inverters will continue using the existing socket outlets in their houses.

I've read somewhere that somebody had issues with the software for the Axperts. (Axpert and infini software are very similar) The person complained about some things which did not work and the conclusion was that he installed it in another directory - not the default directory. After re-installing it using the default installation directory and all the default options, more of the functionality worked.

Hi Warren 1.) Dedicated red plugs are usually used for UPS installations and usually don't go through and ELR and are not grounded either. In these Axpert etc. inverter/UPS installations most people don't change their plugs etc, they only wire the inverter/UPS into the existing installation. With the rest I fully agree. 2.) I am aware of that and in agreement. 3.) If you do the N-E bond on inverter output and then run the output through an ELR, the Neutral from the ELR goes to a new Neutral bus bar and that new Neutral bus bar must be isolated/split/separated from the original incoming mains (inverter/UPS input) Neutral bus bar - so you will have your isolated/split bus bars as required. 4.) Yes, I am aware of that and agree with your point of connection. 5.) The relay option will only work when no PV is connected to the Axpert. the relay option WILL NOT WORK with a true hybrid inverter e.g. the infini and might or might not work with other inverters/UPS' - I am not for this option at all. Attached is the most correct diagram I have to date. I would like to see your diagram. Please post once you have it.

The inverter stores a hell of a lot of data, but I cannot get anything via the bundled version of the SolarPower software. I can never "see" anything in any drop-down where you are supposed to select the inverter and therefor I cannot get any data to export or for any of the graphs etc. I have a later (latest?) version of SolarPower but have not installed it yet, so I don't know if it works better. The bundled version does however display PV generated since I've installed my infini and if you check the data on the inverter (buttons and display on inverter), you can also drill down to the day it was installed. The PC software contains a lot of bugs and I think not being able to retrieve other data from the inverter is one of them. Which version of SolarPower do you have installed?

If " feed into grid tick is off " the inverter will not push anything back to the DB and for that matter to the "heavy loads".

BMV702 Installation with 20m cable.
Cabtyre might or might not work. The supplied UPT cable contains twisted pairs and twisted pairs are sometimes critical to cancel out noise introduced on the cable - they could have used 6 core comms cable, but they've used 3 pair UTP cable - maybe there is a reason for it.

I am referring to output voltage and battery use when the output voltage setting is set to a higher value. When it is set to a higher value the inverter needs to work harder and it might use more battery power to maintain the higher voltage. I played around with that setting on my APC UPS and when I configured the output voltage to a lower value the batteries lasted much longer on idle compared to when the output voltage was set to a higher value. Was the tripping caused by the "output" voltage setting or by a combination of other settings? These two should not really affect each other. The output voltage setting is only applicable to the load connected to the inverter - the grid-tie voltage will follow the input voltage closely and can for obvious reasons not be specified.

By setting you nominal output voltage to 230V instead of 240V, won't you save on battery power when the inverter runs from battery?

Hi Wetkit How did you measure that usage. Do you have a watt meter or a simple current clamp meter? I've bought myself a din rail mount power meter and installed it on the AC IN line of my infini. My infini draws 60W (real power) when no load is connected and PV and battery inputs are disconnected. I've also measured the apparent power (VA) at that stage, and that was well over 200VA. Once I connect the batteries and they start charging the power consumption climbs a bit, but that depends on the charging current at that moment. If your infini draws 250W (real power) on idle, I think your unit might be faulty or some or other setting causes something to misbehave.

UPS or Solar system?
The meters with a simple current clamp only measures apparent power (VA), not real power (W). The apparent power and real power will be exactly the same for pure resistive loads like a geyser element or kettle, but as soon as the load becomes inductive or capacitive the power factor needs to be taken into account.To measure real power, you have to measure the current, the voltage and the power factor. For example, I've measure a few items in and around the house and two interesting examples are: A specific 3W LED downligher consumed 3.1W (real power), but 6VA apparent power and the 40 inch LCD TV consumed 3W (real power) on standby, but 18.2VA (apparent power) on standby. Best would be to invest in a true power meter - check if the meter can measure power factor, because then it should be able to measure real power (W) as well.

DC FUSES
Hi leaves You can use those fuses - they will be perfect. The voltage rating is the maximum voltage the fuse will be able to isolate when it goes open circuit in case of a fault condition. They will be perfect for low voltage (48V) use. If you are looking for 100A fuses or lower, you can use this fuse holder from ACDC: CMS2258.1 It is also a DIN rail mount fuse holder. Fuses e.g. 100A: 2258.100
