Hey guys simple logic says that the more surface area you cover with solar power obviously at the right orientation the longer you can achieve maximum production the larger modules generally have higher efficiency. Also an duel mppt are more effecient than a single mmpt as long as you do not exceed the Maximum amp rating and VOC rating of the mppt.. so simply stated if you have 10 x 430 watt panels in series vs 10x 365 watt panels in series your overcast production will be higher for the 430 watt array and in full sun the max production duration of the array will be longer.. however getting overly technical will just give you a headache and it is very difficult to get exact figures your best option is to base your calculations on long term averages.. the MPPTs on the 5.5 Sunsynk can produce a max of 3250 watt per mppt per hour giving you a total of 6.5KW fortunately you can parallel up to 10 units and if you do not use the generic input output port for a generator you can use this port to output to a geyser element when you are producing excess power.

  9. Correct its a Solis Clone.. the Sunsynk is Cheaper and has much more features than the Kodak/Solis unit much better value for money at R20k per unit for a Sunsynk 5.5 Super Hybrid parity inverter.
  10. @Coulomb sound math just one thing I would like to add is the assumed duty cycle of the batteries vary vastly even with Gel batteries and the Average duty cycle of a decent Gel battery is never more than 3600 Cycles @20% DOD cycling the same battery to 50% will only give about 1200 Cycles and a estimated life of 3 years..so I normally recommend a 20% DOD for reasonable life this reduces the available usable capacity signficantly.

  12. Average wind speed in your area needs to be 6.5 ms or higher The noise of the turbine depends on the brand and blade design. A good design makes less noise than the wind does. High trees and buildings cause turbulance turbines do not work well in turbulance. So either cut the trees down or install a very high tower.
  13. I agree with @plonkster completely we will soon have access to Lithium compatiple controllers for the cheaper HYE turbines from 600 watt to 3KW all in 48v Configuration. You can contact Pegasus Systems for more info.

Hi Guys the Bornay wind turbine Mppts work perfectly with Lithium batteries and Pegasus systems will soon have a MPPT based controller available for the HYE turbines that allows for a wide range of voltage adjustments to suit most lithium batteries these adjustments can be made by the installer to suit the voltage ranges of the Battery system lithium or lead acid.
  15. Here is my conclusion and Correct me If I am wrong... Lets start with the Maximum power point of the 410 watt Canadian solar panel is 39.1V @ 10.49 amp so then we can assume the Maximum power point of 12 panels in series will be 496.2 V @10.49 amp. Max Voltage the MPPT can handle is 580v and the VOC of a Single panel is 47.6 V and the VOC of 12 Panels will be 571.2 V within the max voltage range of the MPPT So the MPPT will try to keep the panels at their maximum power point which is 496.2 V @ 10.49 amps am I correct to assume this? The voltage full load voltage range of the mppt is between 225 V and 500 V so this means 496.2 V falls close to the upper limit of the MPPT correct me if Iam wrong? However the total Watts of the solar Array on one MPPT will be 4920 Watt the MPPT will only use 3250 Watt per MPPT as specified by the manufacturer or this is what we can assume. As long as the array does not exceed the Maximum VOC or open circuit voltage of the MPPT no damage can be caused to the mppt and the the amperage @500 to 550 v of the array does not exceed 11 amp which is specified by the manufacturer which limits you to one string per MPPT again correct me if Iam wrong. So with this all said I see nothing wrong with this configuration the Down side is when the sun is optimal you wont be able to use more than the rated 6500 watt limited by the inverter yet your system will be able to maintain the Maximum 6500 watt for a longer duration during the sun's cycle so it will start producing max power earlier in the morning and maintain it longer into the afternoon. Also it will be able to produce more power on overcast days than it would with just 6500 watts of panels. My two cents.. hope it helps.

Your 6 x 360 watt panels should produce 2160 watt per hour and there is two schools one says 5 hour per day on average and one say 6 hours per day on average if we base it on 5 hours the solar array will produce 10800 watt average per day so based on that your solar system will produce a lot more than what you use if 900 watt is the total power consumed during loadshedding. The same calculation can be applied to your second option. Do you only use these devices for Backup purposes or do you intend on running dedicated loads of the systems on a day to day basis. You definately have a lot of solar power available for some essential loads and I am sure the systems can be configured to only access the batteries during loadshedding. However this is assuming your load does not exceed production however the inverters can recharge the batteries from utility power. You must also consider the orientation of your solar panels Ideal is north facing between 5 and 35 degrees angle best angle for winter is 35 degrees and for summer is 5 degrees there are many and varried opinions on this Personally I prefer a good medium so I mount my panels as close to 25 degrees as I can. Configuration of your Axpert tipe inverter is better answered by Axpert experts I have experiece with these inverters but will not call my self an expert on them.

    Hi in my personal opinion Axpert brand and type inverters are problematic and unreliable you are better off looking at Sunsynk Goodwe Solis or Kodak hybrids.
