February 5, 20179 yr This is from their website: UDOO X86 is the New PC: the most powerful x86 maker board ever and an Arduino™ 101-compatible platform, all embedded on the same board. On UDOO X86 you can run all the software available for the PC world, from gaming to video streaming, from graphical editors to professional development platforms, plus all the software or the Arduino™ 101 world, including all the sketches, libraries and the official Arduino™ 101 IDE. You won’t ever worry about lack of drivers or stuff like that. This is a true next-generation computer. Seems the windows ICC will be running smoothly !!

February 6, 20179 yr @Manie I would vote for additional information that users request to be displyed on MQTT and not the Pi. There is enough pertinent information on the Pi display already. Besides the inverters are always installed in an out of the way location and not in people's offices. I just take my Android tablet to the garage where my inverters are and VNC with wifi to the Windows PC running MQTT. Of course I can also VNC to the Pi, which runs headless, to the Pi display. So why duplicate the programming. It would be interesting to hear how many users run their Pi with display, keyboard and mouse connected and how many use MQTT. The ICC-Pi and MQTT is a winning combination for me and both programs can be accessed with ease from other devices such as tablets, mobile phones and lap or desktop computers from anywhere in the world. If you don't have a VPN server on your router like with Gargoyle firmware, install a free Neorouter server on a PC on your home LAN and leave it running when you are away from home for secure VPN remote access. Just Google the stuff. So my vote goes to additional future displays to be on MQTT. Besides I like the graphic display that tells me all I mostly want to know at a glance.
February 6, 20179 yr Cool that was my thought aswell. We can extend more info on mqttSent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
February 6, 20179 yr Sounds great @Manie. Hope it includes a switch to switch between grid and solar/batteries like you have in the Windows program.
February 6, 20179 yr Manie ek weet ek span nou die wa voor die os maar ek het nou net daaraan gedink. Would it be possible to integrate a scheduler (something like used in the Bittorrent program) to preprogram daily schedules as to when the inverter switches to grid/battery power. I don't want to put pressure on you while you're still busy with the initial program but I just thought about it and it might be a very usefull feature in future. Anybody else's thoughts on that?Sent from my S60 using Tapatalk

February 6, 20179 yr Manie, I agree with ebrsa regarding the mqtt implementation for monitoring extra or special values vs the display tab. I am just battling to get MQTT going, and can't find a good tutorial or howto for our pi setup. I've done a fair bit of googling, and seem to get stuck when i type " mosquitto_sub -h localhost -v -t "\$SYS/#" ", I get an error. When I follow the instructions of how to fix this error by editing mosquitto.conf file, the error does not disappear. Can anyone advise as to where I can get a good tut on MQTT, which is in plain English. or a step for step explanation on a pi would be very helpful, as I'm going in circles chased by a mosquitto!! On a side note, I thought that one platform that could be close to the pi setup is an (not too) old Android smartphone. Has got Wifi, bluetooth, OTG USB, runs linux, no need for a screen/Ethernet, has got built-in battery backup - something I've missed so far, as I've lost a lot of info due to overloads. Do't know enough of linux etc to say a port is doable. I've got a rooted S2 somewhere.
February 6, 20179 yr I will see later today if i can send you the linkSent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
February 6, 20179 yr Have you guys tried to play with rednode to try and optimize your load ect. Mqtt can also be pulled in and base on what you want to do you can say pull a relay ectSent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
February 6, 20179 yr @Manie I see your point about security. Won't really bother me as it is no hardship to start the RealVNC viewer to access the PI. @Sidewinder did you install the image or the latest version of Pi Linux and then ICC-Pi. I installed the image as I could not be bothered to do all the heavy lifting that @Manie had already done by installing all the is necessary. Then when I started MQTT on the Windows PC all I had to insert was the IP address of the PI. The port (1883) was already inserted. If you have not used the image, why not install it and see it solves your problems. You have my sympathy as I frequently spend hours solving some problem on the PC, particularly with the latest and greatest piece of some software because of curiosity.

February 6, 20179 yr Thanks Manie, I have at lease eliminated 1 problem tonight. My instruction said "http://repo.mosquitto.org/debian/mosquitto-repo.list, and gave me a Error 404 file does not excist. Only realised that the "-jessie" part talks to the type of debian. mine sais -repo, thus the failure! So one learns. At least now I get: >mosquitto -p 1883 -v 1486405075: mosquitto version 1.4.10 (build date Thu, 25 Aug 2016 10:12:09 +0100) starting 1486405075: Using default config. 1486405075: Opening ipv4 listen socket on port 1883. 1486405075: Opening ipv6 listen socket on port 1883. 1486405108: New connection from 127.0.0.1 on port 1883. 1486405108: New client connected from 127.0.0.1 as dMQTTClient212 (c1, k40). 1486405108: Sending CONNACK to dMQTTClient212 (0, 0) 1486405108: Received SUBSCRIBE from dMQTTClient212 1486405108: Inverter/MeterValues (QoS 0) 1486405108: dMQTTClient212 0 Inverter/MeterValues 1486405108: Sending SUBACK to dMQTTClient212 1486405108: Received PUBLISH from dMQTTClient212 (d0, q0, r0, m0, 'Inverter/AllValues', ... (69 bytes)) So where to from here? I'm running MQTTfx on PC, but config is a bit of a mystery. It generates a key, can't see anywhere in ICC to use it. Any help appreciated.
February 6, 20179 yr press the button and Enter the key. Add the pi ip address and port number and press the online button
February 6, 20179 yr Ok didn't get much further. If is look at mqtt.fx's log file, i get: 2017-02-06 21:20:39,295 INFO --- BrokerConnectorController : onAdHocConnect 2017-02-06 21:20:39,295 INFO --- BrokerConnectorController : connecting to 192.168.X.X port 1883 2017-02-06 21:20:39,296 INFO --- ScriptsController : Clear console. 2017-02-06 21:20:39,298 INFO --- MqttFX ClientModel : MqttClient with ID "lots of numbers" assigned. 2017-02-06 21:20:41,341 ERROR --- MqttFX ClientModel : Error when connecting org.eclipse.paho.client.mqttv3.MqttException: Unable to connect to server Step by step, i will conquer.
February 6, 20179 yr did you reboot the pi ? also have you check that the service is started ? #To start the Mosquitto service sudo /etc/init.d/mosquitto start #To stop the Mosquitto service sudo /etc/init.d/mosquitto stop #To restart the Mosquitto service sudo /etc/init.d/mosquitto restart
February 6, 20179 yr Hi Manie, Looks like I'm real slow tonight... Sorry, but Press what button and enter?. I don't have the screen displayed above. I'll probably laugh my head off once i get it, if i do Just tried the start command, pi says: "Error: Unknown option 'start' Usage: mosquitto [-c config_file] [-d] [-h] [-p port] Toemaar, more is nog 'n dag. more vroeg opstaan!
