August 30, 20223 yr Hi, posted on facebook, but need some more input. After reading above post, I am little worried. My 5.5kw hubble is about a year old, normally it last till around 3am, when only using about 0.4kw/h during the night. But this last 2 months the battery drops very quick, does this look normal?
August 30, 20223 yr If your base load is around 400W an hour that would be 4kW in 10 hours. Looking at the graph you start using battery around 17:00 and at around 21:00 your battery usage would have been 400W X 4 = 1600W yet it's down to 20%. Have you had your firmware updated? There were updates by Hubble to address problematic battery comms and behaviour with certain Inverters. What Inverter is this coupled to and do you have BMS comms set up? Have a SS 5KW inverter, BMS is connected. Thinking of disconnecting the BMS until until I can get a cable for the update.
August 30, 20223 yr If it is a SS then you definitely need the latest Firmware update from Hubble and possibly a Firmware update for your Inverter too.
August 30, 20223 yr Just a sanity check, to see whether you are not exporting battery power to the grid. Do you have solar selling and the time-of-use settings activated at the same time, or have you modified these settings recently? (Just going on Deye functionality, don't 100% know if SS is similar, but may well be.)

August 31, 20223 yr Author Last night I did a full discharge/charge cycle without BMS connected, and only got 2.19Kw out of the battery. Going to do another cycle today, but dont think it is an firmware problem.

It's important that the battery is at full charge for a reasonable amount of time to allow the internal cells to balance.

I would suggest charging slowly when calibrating by limiting the current to 10-20A and let it take its time. If you charge too quickly the cells may become unbalanced and trigger a cell overvoltage alarm when reaching about 98% and the bms will either throttle the current or cut charging completely. I'm pretty sure the hubble uses the seplos bms which has some flaws when top balancing and also with SOC calibration.

Left it on charge whole day yeterday, this morning Volts was 53.1V, still leaving it on charge for the day. Will test discharge tonight again. Think the best thing is to log a call with Hubble and ask them to do a firmware upgrade and test.

September 11, 20223 yr Author Giving up now. Did the firmware upgrade, did a discharge with BMS disconnected. Battery charge normal until 48% then jumps to 100% (53.6v) and don't take any charge. Plugged CAN in, battery discharge 2.6kw soh=20% volts 48.8V

Sometimes runaway cells can also cause this sort of behavior.
September 11, 20223 yr Not sure how the SOH is calculated, but I would definately check those voltages when the charge cycle is near the top end (almost finished) and then see the highest and lowest cells. Currently on your screenshot the deviation is quite large. But will have a better view once you get to the top of the charge, and if the deviation is still so high then you may need to get the cells top balanced again.
